One of the best shows from last few decades - and second season is even better. (the others imo are The Wire, True Detective, Mindhunter and Better call Saul - there are few others, but they are not this genre, so i won't mention them)
@@ramboonacid8366 but 3 is still great compared to other shows - again great acting, dialogues and characters, absurd situations. But yea, 2 is imo the best.
Billy Bob Thornton is underrated as hell. His performance in Monster's Ball is exceptionally good, and obviously Sling Blade but he's also able to do comedy such as Bad Santa. I'm convinced nobody would be a better Bad Santa than Billy Bob Thornton.
@@ecurb10 I disagree, it got too much unnecessary hate. It has great links to season 2, the same way season 3 had great links to season 1. They didn't leave anything unexplained like the previous seasons did, the acting, the characters and the writing was all great too
@@Sweetback127Here No worries, happy that you enjoyed it 👍...just wish I did too. Don't get me wrong, it was still good, I just didn't enjoy it as much as the others. To me it had too many stories going, with none of them really the dominant one. It was hard to get into a main narrative. But that might just be me 😉.
I love how this show isn't a remake but remix - and not just of Fargo, but of the Coen Brothers entire filmography. Scenes parallel and echo ones from the movie with different outcomes (the opening with Malvo in the car at night), where Malvo himself is much more like Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men (except his big coat evokes Buscemi's character in Fargo). There are a ton of little elements like this throughout every season
It’s just one of many reasons why I love this series. Some of the nods to their film universe are subtle, and others direct parallels. The casting for each season has been outstanding as well. Looking forward to seeing his reactions.
The show is a top tier Breaking Bad/Sopranos type show. It is so hard to get people to watch it, but when they do, they are blown away. How can you not finish the show after that episode?
Season 1 is a Classic. 2 and 3 are good, but the catastrophe of Season 4 is enough to ruin the previous 3 seasons. I feel like they were hoping Chris Rock would be as good as MKW in Boardwalk…yeah not so much.
This was the first show I really loved; it was winter and I felt like shit, watched the whole season in 2 days I believe. I really gotta watch it again one day, it was soooo good. You'll love it!
Absolutely love that you're putting this gem of a show on yer roster. And if it's too much work having a vid per episode, you could just put a few episodes per reaction vid. Allison Tolman's performance as Molly Solverson is the real mvp here :D
Oh my god! I was just hoping you would react to this show yesterday! This is one of my absolute favorite shows, I can't wait to hear your input and see your reactions. It's a ride for sure :D
Yeeeees!!! I've been asking every reaction channel I watch who sees the movie to watch the series! I'm very glad you did because I know you're gonna (and already have) fully appreciate the skill and talent and art and hard work that went into every episode. I haven't seen s4 yet but can say 2 and 3 are just as great.
Glad you're getting into Fargo's tv show! It's suuuuuch a well-made show; the writing, music, cinematography, direction and pace, acting... all top notch. The first two seasons in particular are gonna be a hella fun time.
another thing i love about the series is how it's shot. every frame has something interesting about it and you're constantly being shown or hinted at with information, which really keeps me engaged. the editing is great, the physical acting and framework really helps make simple movements interesting to watch (i could watch Lorne Malvo walking into a room for an hour straight), and the music and song selections are always fire.
You're gonna LOVE all the other seasons as well, and how they ALL tie in to each other. I had to go back and RE watch some seasons after others just to fully appreciate how they all connect. Masterfully executed show IMO hope they keep remixing this series. Would love to see a season that takes place back in the 1800s with a Native American cast or some early pioneer settlers in Fargo. Or even do one that takes place in the future maybe.
I’m not even finished this episode and this is one of my favourite reactions ever. And I watch a lot of different reaction channels. This series is really good. I hope you’re considering season 2, which is also amazing. Going to watch you watch the whole season now. 💖
Thank you so much. Your reactions are priceless! I previously watched this series and it was such fun to rewatch it with you and listen to your comments.🤣
The haircut was Billy Bob Thornton's idea. He came to the audition with that ridiculous haircut and Noah Hawley was immediately like yes, you get the character and cast him on the spot
I didn't see that you had started this, it's a goddamn masterpiece and I'm so glad you're on board with the comedy and general vibe of the show. Superb cinematography, acting, script, score, everything. Some of the best television that has ever been produced in my opinion. I'm sure it's been said here but Malvo is the greatest villain I've ever seen, Gus Fring be damned. So much more intimidating and just reaps chaos everywhere he goes. Lester hitting his wife with the hammer is the best jaw-drop moment I've ever experienced from a TV show. Literally couldn't close my mouth for a full minute The "Here there be dragons" speech, absolutely incredible. They could not have done better with this show in the spirit of Fargo and you're in for one HELL of a ride
I'm super excited to see you reacting to this. I love the series! Martin Freeman does a great accent (I'm from Minnesota so I can give the fail/pass on that!)
This is my favourite TV series of all time. The characters are engaging (Billy Bob Thornton is an actor that always own the screen if given a good script) and the plot is fantastic. But my favourite thing about this show is that no character is off limits. No-one is safe in this show and it really raises the stakes in tense moments. Add the philosophical dialogue in too and it is almost flawless
I’m gonna have to watch the other seasons ASAP, I’ve seen the first season back when it first aired and loved it! Never got round to the other seasons.
This series is basically a gigantic love letter to The Coen Bros. It's like these guys studied the shit out of every movie they ever made and tried to distill their sensibilities. And for the most part it works, especially the cinematography. It worked so well the Coen Bros. gave their approval and produced it, and prestige movie actors like Billy Bob Thornton loved the script enough to take a TV role. Like Cobra Kai, it's something that shouldn't work, but miraculously does.
For me, this show and Breaking Bad are the most beautifully shot shows I've ever seen. (in addition to being top notch shows in general, but cinematography is off the charts amazing).
Still have to watch season 4, but love how every show is it's own self contained story, yet follows generations of the same family. Every season has been impeccable with it's story and performances.
nice bro, this is a fantastic series. I also gotta recommend ‘Westworld’; actors, cinematography, themes, action, & Ramin Djawadi being a literal maestro by doin modern songs on the player piano 🤠🤖
This is unrelated but if you're able to find it, could you watch The Knick. It's a series by Steven Soderbergh starring Clive Owens, Eve Hewson and Andre Holland. It's basically a Medical Drama set in 1900 but it's incredibly underrated as a series
This is such a treat! This was a fantastic series with a fantastic cast and I loved the quirkiness of it all. Loved S2 & 3 as well. Billy Bob Thornton was brilliant as Lorne Malvo; loved him stirring up shit wherever he goes! 🤣
The Coen Brothers aren't involved in the TV show at all. Supposedly, they don't really even watch much TV. They are given credit as producers for every episode though. Noah Hawley is the man behind this TV show. He was also behind Legion and is currently working on Fargo's fifth (and supposedly last season) as well as a TV show set in the universe of the Alien franchise.
Billy Bob Thornton is absolutely fantastic in this show one of his best profomances of all time Imo love his shuttle psycho intimation makes him very humours also, same with Martin Freeman who I love in the show also I only watched the first season a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it haven't seen season 2 or 3 yet definitely need to watch them hope u enjoy the first season man just as good as the movie 👍
Also I think it's really cool to see other writers and filmmakers tackle a story first explored by the Coen's. Noah Hawley and his team do a great job of keeping the stories fresh but still pay homage to other Coen films. The casting is really good too, and the editor for season 1 worked on breaking bad
I'm telling you this TV series is so good. All the stories are tied together, and sometimes it's hard to believe. Even the movie is a part of the series. Great choice you will love these reactions.

Billy Bob Thornton's performance throughout the season is one of the best I've ever seen on TV.
