Here in Quebec Canada, a local nursery/farm have engaged Wwoofers for many years - always highly recommended. Your videos are great! But today especially, it was nice to see the dog, and the beautiful black kitty. You are inspiring and fun to watch. ❤😻🌷
Both my kids participated in the WWOOF program. My son went to France for 3 months and my daughter to Watkinsville California with one of her best friends. Your young adults have to be really open to different experiences. Including more than 4 hours a day work, maybe sleeping in tents, sleeping in barns or RV’s. Lots of vegetables to eat and outdoor bathing. 😂 They loved their experiences and were experienced travelers prior to doing the program. I have a lavender farm and someday I hope to host WOOFF’ers on my land as well.
That Wwoof program is so great. I wish I knew about it when I was younger, what a great way to travel and see the best of Organic farming. I think a lot of the You Tube Homesteaders should think about it. I looked at many farms on the site. They often want people for the whole growing season and most young people don't won't to be stuck in one place that long and then have no home in the winter months. It sounds like a great idea though. I'm in Oregon. It sounds like a great idea for me to get help on my mini homestead. Thank you! ♡
My son WWoofed for a few seasons in Montana and loved it. He met amazing people and learned about food - more about animal culture than planting. He was a twenty-something already involved in nature (Outward Bound and other projects).
I'm glad you got a little bit of help. You work so very hard and mainly by yourself!!! I know its said that hard work is good for us all....but its another thing when your really living it !!
my daughter's friend wwoofed for months before getting her own sheep and small farm, it is a good way to learn if you are or not cut out for manual labor...the unfarming sounds like an awesome and fun experience...in my opinion learning about food forests should be taught in school and city kids should take field trips to farms and rural kids take field trips to the city...ps I found some leftover coleus seeds and planted them yesterday
Thank you for all the content. I’ve watched hours. We started a cut flower biz last Sept on 1/3 acre in Florida 8b. Our ranunculus just finished off last week. What a blast it has been.
My daughter and friend Woofed in Mexico. I was not happy because there was so much violence at that time. She really enjoyed it and got to see many places in Mexico.
What a wonderful program! Thanks for turning those of us who didn't know about it on to it. I'm not a farmer but will share with some farmer friends, if they don't know about it. I'd love to do this if I wasn't and old coot!
I have to say that a tiny shovel-full at a time and long walks back and forth would take forever to mulch my plants. I’ve had paid employees that did that and they didn’t last long. But free labor I guess.
Hauahuahaua I can imagine Selena from ‘we can’t eat the grass’ “exploring” the possibilities of free labour from the WWOOF program hauahuahau I would love to see people being able to review their experiences with close to her WWOOF (Am I trolling?, sorry if I am )
@@gardenx5574 ok ok I wasn’t sure about the spelling. What do you think am I being unfair? I stopped watching them because it got so cringe: it’s her farm, her tools, her plans, and when something goes wrong she start saying we/our but most of the time she blames her husband :0( there was even a video when she makes he saying she was right… I don’t know…
@@cynthiafisher9907 Maybe it’s me, I’ll keep supporting them and I hope it is just me they have suck a beautiful family and I just hope the dynamic that seems different to me works for them!
I rent a home about 20 minutes from you... my landlady has a peony here that she said has never bloomed for her. I've been here since summer of 2019 and it doesn't grow too big and never blooms. What can I do to help it? 💕
Start by testing the soil. The wrong balance of chemicals in the soil can mean plenty of foliage but very little flowers. Too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus is usually the culprit I think.

I WWOOFed in Japan. I wanted to experience farming, travel cheaply, and get better at Japanese. It was a great experience!
omg your eyes were just glowing with that sweater on
💚💚💚❤
I wish my son was this helpful. All he ever wants to do is watch UA-cam or play Minecraft.
You have to find what motivates him!

The deer don’t bother peonies?
No! They're considered deer resistant.
Good to know! Thank you!

Planted to deep?

I'd definitely start by checking how deep it's planted. It's usually planted too deep.
