In MN, zone 4B. All seeds ordered and garden planning is in full swing. Last frost here is anywhere from 1st week of May to the 3rd week of May......just depends on what kind of spring MN decides it wants each year. 😆
It's peak season where I am in South Florida zone 10B. I've been harvesting greens and beans for over a month now, and received a gift of fresh local starfruit. The roselle is very late (they got knocked over from the hurricanes last fall) but the second batch of calyxes is almost ready. I pulled up a giant daikon last week for kimchi. The cherry tomatoes are too green but should ripen soon. The bees are loving the borage and cosmos in bloom. The mango is getting ready to bloom and I need to thin out the number of coconuts on the palm. We don't have frost dates here. The snow you got is unreal!
Oh wow! That is so much snow. I grew up in Buffalo but have lived in RI for so long now that it's hard to remember what that volume feels like. Our last frost is April 17th (ish). I usually plant annuals May 1st and dahlias June 1st to avoid rot. So far I've started geraniums and lavender inside and have winter sowed astrantia, lupine, yarrow, cerinthe, and hollyhocks. For flowers, I have about 100 different varieties and then only grow a handful of different veggies and herbs. It's a fun time
Great job!! Here in zone 8b, our last frost is end of April and I’ve started Lisianthus, Delphinium, Foxglove and a bunch of cool flowers so that I can aim to plant out in March 🌱🤞
Hi Nicole! Seedling season started here in Serbia, zone 7a, last frost date 20 Apr! I received seed deliveries from England, Estonia, US, and Ukraine, and have a lot saved from last year. I stated to sell perennials on a small scale (small back yard), and I use both indoor growing under grow lights, and winter sowing in water jugs. Seed stratification in the fridge is ongoing, and I just today started winter sowing. Starting some proven plants like Echinacea Chayenne Spirit, Agastache rugosa, Penstemon Mystica, Heliopsis Burning Hearts, Gaura, Helenium Helena Gold, Verbena bonariensis... And I'm taking a shot this yeas with some new plants like Ligularia, Rodgersia, Polemonium, Alchemilla, goose-neck Lysimachia... It will be a busy year! Looking forward to watching your videos.
I’m in 6b and will NOT complain about the 22” of snow in my area.😂 Started onions, broccoli and kale yesterday. The stock, snaps and straw flowers are on the agenda as soon as I replenish my compost supply. I just have to say that Brad’s tractor agility is superb. It’s quite adorable, tbh.
I live between Pittsburgh and Erie but lucky for me, we seem to be mostly out of the line of fire for the lake effect snows. Don't know that I could deal with FEETS of snow!!! Thoughts are with all of you guys affected by these crazy weather conditions and especially those in CA that are facing those horrible fires..... Prayers for everyone's safety.... especially our First Responders!!!
I live in Boise, ID. Last frost date about May 10th. I started plumeria seeds (4:10 germinated but one may not make it), I have echinacea in the fridge, and I will start artichokes soon (nasty gopher killed 21:24 last season).
Yanno that foam snow broom you have for Brad’s car, it works like a charm on greenhouses. Doesn’t poke the plastic! You can use it inside and out to get the snow off. I have single layer plastic so I use it inside to knock the snow off that way. Give it a try next time. 😉
I am in NJ, the very tippy top on the border, I have started onions, pansies, lisianthus, herbs, coleus, lettuce (for inside growth) this week I will start eucalyptus, stevia, and violas, snapdragons and stock. I am going to start peppers earlier than last year, as I had issues with poblanos and jalapenos growing too slow. Most likely first week in February. Oh just remembered zone 6b last frost date is May 15th.
Good to see others do snow removal like we have to. I live in South Lake Tahoe. My goal is onions this year. Everything goes tiny here. Last frost is 7/5 . we have gotten snow in every month of the year! Wish me luck. Need c.
I'm starting seeds this week for Walla Walla onions and green onions. I'll start a few pansies and ornamental cabbage from seed. Most seed starts I do follow the holiday schedule...Valentine, St. Pat's, Easter and Mother's Day; give or take a few days. I'm going on my city lot in Seattle! 💚🤍 I do believe our last frost date is mid-March. I treat it like early April to be on the safe side. Love your content; thank you.
It's amazing what the snow bands and lake effect can do in NY state! I'm only two hours south of you and we did not get any of this snow! Lots of cold and wind though. But, I am happy to have the cold, our spring plants, perennials and maple trees need it!
Well done you two on the snow!! 6A SW MI here. I'll be starting my first seeds next weekend. I'm only winter sowing purple coneflower this year from seeds I collected in fall. Inside, I'll be starting my snaps, Eryngium, Verbena Bonariensis, and feverfew first. Hoping to get them in the ground with frost cloth in early spring. Last frost here is sometime in May, Memorial Day is the guarantee but it could frost any time in May.
SW corner Minnesota 4b , IN Week 51 started 10,000 seeds for hoophouse planting in March. We are Mother's & Daughter's Harvests Love you channel !!!! you have taught so much !
So much snow! It's beautiful! Starting my winter sowing jugs tomorrow, Spinach, Broccoli, all cold weather crops, Lisiathus and purple bell vine, poppies, violas, pansies SO excited! Zone 6a Indiana. Last frost date end of April. Praying you receive the grant🙏❤
Holy snow! Zone 7a, last frost date April 27th. Started 128 cell tray of lisianthus Echo - Lavender, Pink, Pink Picotee and Voyage 2 First Love. Snaps and Foxglove this weekend.
Hi Nicole, long time, follower here. Wanting to let you know I’m in Northern Minnesota zone 4B and I have started some seeds. I did start onions, begonias, poppies, salvia red and purple and lantana. We have very little snow cover and cold temperatures. Fun to watch the snow removal! Shine On🤩
Good morning, great video. Have started some seeds. My last frost date is in may. I have started a few seeds, onions, Lisianthus, geranium, primula, and a few more seeds. Thanks again for sharing your videos. Hope you have a wonderful day 😊
When I first moved to northwest Ohio from eastern NC, I had no idea how much work winter was! You have to remove snow. You have to store snow. Oh my gosh! We moved back to NC to look after my folks and left snow behind. I do not miss pushing a grocery cart through a slushy snow parking lot. You guys take care in the snow. It’s easy to get hurt.
No seeds started yet here in Burlington VT, but all my favorite color Coleus cuttings have survived and are still growing. My first try at Cha Cha Chia plants from last summer finally finished with some cute blue flowers, they got to about 4' tall under grow lights. They were a plant experiment we did at Girl Scout camp. The question was, how big would a Chia Pet get if it was planted in an actual pot. I guess if I want to try geraniums, it's time to start??
Yay.. You are such workers.. looking amazing though. I had to do this to my tunell last year, but not this year, YET. Last frost date about 1. of may here in southern part of Norway. I’ve sown Lisianthus, Verbena and some Fancy frills Pansies. Then I have started some Dahlias to get some cuttings to sell this spring. Have a great sowing time, dear you
Hey, Nicole, I started my Lisianthus on January 2. That is what I did last year and successfully grew about 300. I planted 288 this year. I'm just north of Louisville, KY. now zone 7. Can't wait to see your year of growing
Last frost date April 30th Zone 6b Pennsylvania. I've been seed starting since December. Lisianthus ,snapdragons, eucalyptus, stock, campanula. As well as some bulbs/ corms Ranunculus and Tulips. I'm growing in a hoop house in addition to my field space this year for the first time, and I'm super excited!
Started seeds this week here in Alabama, so many just went a little bit crazy with my flower seeds this time, can't wait to see what actually comes up!
JUST sowed lisianthus (Rosanne Green and a lisadora apricot-both from Johnny's and pelleted) here in zone 6a , North Idaho and put under my grow light. 💚🌿
garden answer recently made a vid showing them making a rock holder thing built on pallets. the rocks they have are a lot bigger than your floor gravel, but i'm sure it would work if you used smth that would keep the smaller rocks in. that way you could put it somewhere out of the way and would be accessible for the tractor to pick the pallets up.
I’ve started a bunch of seeds. I don’t have a frost date. I live in zone 10b Southwest Florida. Thank goodness I don’t have to deal with that white stuff you are dealing with. I do not like cold or snow. I don’t mind looking at the snow on videos when it first comes down as long as I don’t have to feel it!
I started some Dara and Nigella seeds today for my early spring planting. I will start my tomatoes and peppers in a few days. I'm in zone 8B, desert climate with a last frost date of March 15. Lowest temp for us this winter so far has been 28 and our days are in the 50's and 60's.
Getting my winter sowing started. Zone 7a. Last frost date May 2, but cold snaps into April. Starting coneflowers, yarrow, artichoke, broccoli, cabbage, and a few others.
An insane, confusing winter. I have no snow in my yard in northern Ontario Canada. I am concerned about my gardens because there is no insulation against the cold.
I will be wintersowing foxglove soon since they did really well last year. I don't know if I will wintersow anything else this year. I will start ranuncula and anemone indoor soon. The rest of the seeds can wait another month. Zone 6b ohio
I sowed my lisianthus last week, and this week I sowed some violas, pelargoniums, and iceland poppies! I'll be starting some slow growing perennials and sweet peas soon. I live in Michigan, Zone 6a, average last frost is right around Mother's Day. It's very cold here, but no real snow yet, your winter wonderland sure looks beautiful from the screen!
Best of luck in 2025, Nicole! You do as you can when you can and be patient. It will come! I have no doubt God will continue to smile down on your business and the precious heart of the lady who owns it, the same way he has throughout your journey to this point. Being realistic about your financial situation and cautious of the level of risk you're willing to take on are important traits of a good businesswoman...which you obviously are. Your future is very bright. Trust us. We see these things from afar. LOL Stay warm!!
Last frost date here in central Maine is 15 May. I've just ordered some tomato, beet, bush bean, zinnia, and sweet pea seeds. Ordered three Pink Petticoat Columbine roots to be delivered in the spring. Not starting any seeds for a while yet. After reading some of the comments here, I think I'll be ordering some pansy seeds to start and use for Easter basket displays. Unbelievable amount of work removing all the snow. Great plans for the future there. Looking forward to following your progress.
Zone 5b. I started begonias and verbena. I will start impatiens soon. Winter sowing next, lams ear, monads, joe pye weed, and Heliopsis. Can’t wait to see if you are seed starting this year.
We don't get much snow here in West Tennessee. But, we've had cold (for us) temperatures in the low 20s all week and into next week. Forecast predicts 5" of snow (OH MY!) that will shut the whole town down. I have been experimenting with growing vegetables inside. I have lettuce, spinach, cabbage, carrots and radishes. I've also got a tomato plant and baby bell plants with flowers (fingers crossed). I don't know how you all do it up there!
I have started lisianthus seeds 2days ago 1st time growing them so fingers crossed... going to to my 2nd year flower farming Edmonton, Alberta Canada last frost date May 10th zone 4a
I'm in Southeast New Brunswick, zone 5a/b (right on the cusp), last frost date is usually first weekend of June. I just today started my onion and hot pepper seeds, as well as petunias and snapdragons. I so wanted to get some lisianthus but I haven't seen any seeds in the stores and they want more for shipping than the packets cost T.T Next year I guess. I'm going to have room for so many flowers this year, so in a couple of weeks I'm going to start my pansies, sweet peas, and hyssop which is currently chilling in the fridge lol
I have started seeds here in Wisconsin. Lisanthus, begonias, streptocarpus from leaves, coral bells, impatiens and such. I live for your videos, please keep them coming!😊 ❤
Just started some African Violet seeds (from Park Seed) as well as a bunch of lettuces (to grow indoors) Lisianthus and geraniums coming up next. SE Wisconsin zone 5b
I have the perfect grow spot for African violets. But, I get a white substance in the leaf joints and plants die. Do you have a remedy? Thanks for making me realize I could buy seeds for these. Happy day.
I guess I won't complain about our 12 inches of snow here in Central Virginia. My last frost date is around April 30th and I'm trying hard not to start seeds indoors or winter sown too early. I'm trying dichondra silver falls from seed after seeing how pretty it is on you flower farmers' videos and it takes 12 weeks so that is all I plan to start in January.
Hi there Boy that's a lot of snow!!!! I'm here in NC Zone 7B. I haven't started anything yet but want to try Lisianthus this year. Is it too early to do that now?? Thank you I really enjoy all of your videos and just love the flowers!! Wish I were closer to you!!
I have started my seeds using the winter sowing jugs method on Jan 1st. Started poppies crimson feathers and amazing grey. Incursion flower mix, snapdragon rocket mix, larkspur, nigellia, rubeckias Sahara, and Cherokee sunset. Sweet peas, Canterbury bells champion white. Indian blanket flower, scabiosa fama deep blue, columbine denver gold, ecinechia Alan's pride, yarrow flowerbeds fruit bowl, and love parade.
Holy lots of snow!! Great job cleaning it all! No seeds staring here yet. Thinking end of January so sooooon!! Last frost date here says May 11th! Getting close! Stay warm thanks for the video ❄️ ⛄️ 😍
Last frost date, are you kidding? What's a frost date... that's a RARE ( but occasional) such thing here in SWFL. LOL I have sown Marigold, asylum, Snapdragons, Nasturtium, Bok Choy, Napa Cabbage, Tom Thumb Lettuce, and Tomatoes (Amish Paste, San Marzano, Roadster. Egyptian Princess .)
I’m in Wisconsin, zone 5b and I’m already growing a ton indoors! I’ve got your Lavante Rosa and Fullstar Anemones as well as the Half Clone Ranunculus going since late October that will hopefully bloom around Valentine’s Day. I’ve got a few fillers going too - phlox, nigella and clary sage to hopefully make a full bouquet! Just starting Lisianthus in the next few days. We used to grow hydroponic lettuce, herbs and microgreens but I switched over to flowers recently and it’s been fun!
In UK. I put in loads of seeds last year in pots, and direct sowed. Result? almost nil!! That's for flowers and veg. Just made a list for this year because I want to get tomatoes and cucumbers going at the very least. Hoping the weather will be on my side this year. It certainly wasn't last year!
OMG the place that I order my Corms and or my Bulbs from wants $50. for this and $50. for that! Can you imagine how much that adds up? Even in a small yard like I have. Now I normally spend between $100 - $200. on flowers (front and back). This year it's going to be all seeds! I actually thought of you today as I ordered Vermont Compost for seed starting (that didn't sound right, but you know what I mean). More work, but more bang for the buck (and then some). Already planning it out. I hate snow, mainly because I hate being cold. And I live in Colorado, go figure. Anyway- hope your Nursery holds up well for you, Nicole. Peace on you.
I am trying winter sowing for the first time this year! I am in NC zone 7b/8a? So far I've just sown cool hardy flowers but I am excited to see how they grow compared to starting them inside! side note: I hope you warmed up quickly after all that! I lived in Michigan for a while and it's crazy how quick hypothermia can sneak up on you when you are doing outside jobs in winter... I was told, if you start to feel woozy and can't talk well, go inside and warm up quick. Stay safe
Totally off topic: Last year wasn’t a good seed germination year for me. I purchased from reputable companies. Please consider a seed haul video based on your 2024 success rate. Does that make sense? I trust your videos (you’re the reason why I started my cut flower garden). 😊
I’m sure you’re going to get a lot of suggestions as to what you should do so I guess I’ll offer my 2 cents. And these are just my thoughts probably unrealistic but as your greenhouses start to deteriorate I would replace them back farther on your property and farther apart and also taller ones so the snow load hopefully would fall off for you. I KNOW greenhouses are expensive BUT as you get older you may not be able to do the snow removal that you currently need to do. Besides they are very close to the road and you did say that you owned two acres if I heard that correctly. Again you may call me ignorant as to what I’m talking about BUT from my point of view things would be SO much easier for you, again just my opinion. Take care and I hope that you don’t get a lot more snow because snow melt in the spring I’m sure gets kind of messy. Again just my opinion and you know the situation much better than the camera is showing us. ❄️⛄️💚🙃
you should sell heart shaped sunglasses at the nursery, it’s become part of the brand Lol😻
😍👍🏼
Agree!!
God bless you guys - you work so hard! Would love if you could do a skincare routine/guide for outdoors in summer/winter - your skin is amazing!
In MN, zone 4B. All seeds ordered and garden planning is in full swing. Last frost here is anywhere from 1st week of May to the 3rd week of May......just depends on what kind of spring MN decides it wants each year. 😆

Good to see others do snow removal like we have to. I live in South Lake Tahoe. My goal is onions this year. Everything goes tiny here. Last frost is 7/5 . we have gotten snow in every month of the year! Wish me luck. Need c.
Pool noodles should be good to knock the snow off the greenhouses
Or the long handled snow rake for the car!
Glad to see you survived the big snow dump. We are having unusual weather. It's 4 degrees here in Central British Columbia Canada.😂
Cental Oklahoma zone 7b. I've started in soil blocks, parsley, cilantro, snaps, and green mist. The last frost date is April 7th ish.
Counting the days to start my winter sowing jugs. 😊

Be sure to vibrate the tomato blooms to self pollinate indoors.
I have started lisianthus seeds 2days ago 1st time growing them so fingers crossed... going to to my 2nd year flower farming Edmonton, Alberta Canada last frost date May 10th zone 4a
Love your videos
I'm in Southeast New Brunswick, zone 5a/b (right on the cusp), last frost date is usually first weekend of June. I just today started my onion and hot pepper seeds, as well as petunias and snapdragons. I so wanted to get some lisianthus but I haven't seen any seeds in the stores and they want more for shipping than the packets cost T.T Next year I guess.
I'm going to have room for so many flowers this year, so in a couple of weeks I'm going to start my pansies, sweet peas, and hyssop which is currently chilling in the fridge lol
Couldn't you use one of those long floor dust mops and push the snow off from the inside?
Yes we had the same amount here 😊 mid west Sweden .My car was totally coverd😂
watched your last year Jan. seed starting with Mom, to make sure I was on track with my seed starts
🤞 Happy New Year.
Happy New Year! 🙏🏻
I have started seeds here in Wisconsin. Lisanthus, begonias, streptocarpus from leaves, coral bells, impatiens and such. I live for your videos, please keep them coming!😊 ❤
I have started a ton of pansy and viola seeds along with coneflowers, perennial geranium and primrose. Zone 6b NY and last frost is in May.
The snow is gorgeous but so much work!!
Wont the snow act as an insulator from the cold if you pile it up along side the greenhouses?
Brad needs a cab on that tractor! :D
❤❤❤❤❤
In UK. I put in loads of seeds last year in pots, and direct sowed. Result? almost nil!! That's for flowers and veg. Just made a list for this year because I want to get tomatoes and cucumbers going at the very least. Hoping the weather will be on my side this year. It certainly wasn't last year!
Winter sowing gives the best results for perennials, annuals, and vegetables if they are hardy.
Yes, today. Pansy, Snapdragons, ranunculus, eucalyptus zone 7b, April 7
Just started eucalyptus and some perennials, in Sweden (the country), last frost May 20th. 😊
I started some delfiniums and some old seed and my weather is just like yours but im in Estonia so about zone 5a.
Stay safe
Can we have an update on your flower stand? ❤
Holy moly.
Ohio Zone 6B: 1/6 lisianthus, eucalyptus, impatiens, and onions in my basement grow room. Some experimental, but we will see how it goes!
Get a roof snow brush..
All I can think of when I see that much snow is eating a big bowl of chili while my outer layers dry off.
Are you concern of snow melt flooding green house?
Oh goodness, I will stop complaining about the weak 8" of snow we got here in Indiana lol
did you ever catch the mink
Geez ur lips were purple! Round headed sponge mop to push from the inside. Ask me how I know! 😆 I started lizzies and eucs so far.
🧹🧹🧹🧹🧹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️🙏🙏🙏🙏😊😊😊
Totally off topic: Last year wasn’t a good seed germination year for me. I purchased from reputable companies. Please consider a seed haul video based on your 2024 success rate. Does that make sense? I trust your videos (you’re the reason why I started my cut flower garden). 😊
FIRST! ❤
the long poles are so hard to use. not worth it in my opinion.
