I followed the work of REK band for over 25 yrs after hearing "Bluegrass Widow" on KPFT in the mid 90s. I immediately knew that something had come my way that encompassed everything I loved in a band. Seeing them perform all over the US in various incarnations was always amazing. The energy they exerted on stage was infectious. Watching the final performance, I was happy to see Bill Whitbeck and Llyod Maines, though saddened that Richie was not able to be a part of it. I am grateful for all the joy REK Band brought me and wish them the best.
I saw Jerry Jeff play this song at the dead cow cooking in Wichita falls I think you did him proud I know it's one of my favorite Robert Earl covers excellent bar none another thing I wanted to add I think this song best covers Guy Clark and Jerry Jeff's versions of this song and the different styles
Robert Earl Keen sounds so different but ao good... He's paying tribute to JJW and I'm presuming, an early honor for himself also. May be out of tune, his singing or plucking or anything else anyone notices but in my ears and eyes, I'm just enjoying the artist. That ARTIST that's on stage, REK. Honour, respect and acceptance 🥰 ! 09/01/23 Jimmy Buffett sailed away 😢. Another one gone...
With the passing of Jerry Jeff Walker, John Prine, and so many more, as REK. retires, it makes me think how our time is at hand. It's been a good run, kids, but this world belongs to the living.
Some of the best times in my life were at Robert Earl Keen concerts. I miss you Robert Earl, enjoy your retirement.

Thanks
I saw him doing sound checks to LA Freeway when he came to Amarillo this year. He closed his show with it and I'm Coming Home To You. Great memories.

The only person that can fill those shoes.
Possum was right! “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes?” No one!
Been a Good Run 🐕🐕🐾🐾🐾🐾💞
That guitar does sound great.
Really hard to lose Prine and JJW both so close together.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
amazing weekend...
AWESOME, LOVE IT
Is that Mr Television, Lloyd Maines?
Sho nuff is
Praise the Lloyd
And Guy Clark and Billy Joe.
Big Loss !
He's drunk
does sound a little slurred. He's a Pro.
Absolutely, going off key all the time and missing notes on guitar.
Or he’s in his late 60’s and it’s getting harder for him to play, hence the reason he’s retiring. Not everything has to be so dramatic.
IDK. Maybe you could do the job a little better. Drunk or sober let's see your show.
He sounds better like this. Been to a show he wasn’t and this is better
Fantastic!
