This episode is really special to Deckerstar relationship, it shows how much she means to him and how much he grew up already thanks to her. Remember episode 4 of season 1 there was a girl who was kidnapped (eventually we find out that she was kidnapped by her brother), there was a time when Lucifer was in apartment with the guy who loved this kidnapped girl and wanted to be with her forever and Lucifer couldn't understand that someone would want to be with one girl for eternity and now we can see that he knows what this guy was feeling. He sees her as someone special and himself not worth of that grace, he basically put's her above himself and he will do everything to protect her, that is pure love! Also, before this episode Chloe perceived Lucifer as someone who isn't a material for a boyfriend he was changing partners like a gloves and as we know Chloe doesn't look for sexual partner she want's longterm partner, so that's why she was afraid of being hurt by him, that after some time he would break up with her or cheat on her. But after this episode Chloe knows that Lucifer doesn't sees her as other girls, she is special to him.
Lucifer and Chloe's kiss is also highly symbolic, as all their moments. Here Lucifer is on the beach, a place that represents a milestone in his immortal history (a place inspired by the movie City of Angels, because celestials used to mete on LA beach): here in 1x7 he met Amenadiel, he burnt his wings and told him he had them cut by Maze on that same spot. Moreover Lucifer is wearing blue shirt and suit, the same colour of the sea, reflecting his tormented personality, something eternally moving and ever changing (1x2, "My life is change, brother"); Chloe is wearing brown clothes, the colour of Earth, something steady, fixed, representing a sort of safe place, a harbour where to land and recover.
Fun reaction! I don't think I've heard anyone guess that they were going to sacrifice Chloe and use her blood before. I won't tell you if that's true or not, but I will say that it's a very unusual guess! I will _also_ say that there's a lot of things in this show that I've never heard _anyone_ guess before it happened. So, points to Aurora for thinking outside the box! :D
His devil face is not makeup. It's very much CGI. Which will get better over time. What you see now is nothing in comparison with how it improves as the show goes on 👌🏻
I think Lucifer took this case so seriously because the stewardess was a friend, the same way the singer was a friend in the pilot episode. "They'll kiss in the middle of an episode. They wouldn't do that as a cliffhanger." That prediction didn't age well. :)

Also, I know you're still a bit out from Season 3, but in case you're really way ahead on Patreon or something like that, I want to recommend watching Season 3 episodes 25 and 26 at some point in Season 3 before episodes 23 & 24. They were extra episodes that got tacked onto the end of Season 3 after the show was cancelled by Fox, but they fit more logically before the last 2 episodes. I think one person said they were meant to fall between Season 3 episodes 14 and 15 or something like that, but any point before episodes 23 & 24 will work.
I guess it really doesn't matter as long as you watch them before starting Season 4. Once you start Season 4, those two episodes just don't fit anywhere. But you've got a long way to go before making that decision, and I'm loving your reactions to the show.
