Jean was in the whole ambush plan and the crew wasn't there, you actually see them at the end of the final episode before the credits riding the horses. That's why Mike said "no one of the 104th is a titan" or something like that. By the time Mike's encounter with Monke and dies, Eren was pretty much fighting Annie at stohess. So yeah this beginning is parallel to the last episode of S1. PD: Monke is bigger than Eren and Armored, they are 15m and Monke is 17m. The biggest till now ignoring biGG daDDy

N I N J A depends on when you last see it. Season 2 on a first watch could def be worst then season 1 for some people. But on a second watch onward season 2 gets so much better.
Season 2 was the best in technical terms, a polished drawing style compared to S1 + consistent GREAT animation through all the season. S1 had several animation issues and collapsed so badly in EP 21 when was aired, u can check yourselves comparing the TV and Blu-ray versions, but I think till this day it has THE BEST storyboarding/animation in action scenes. S3 Part 1 brought a fresh and great character re-design and has great animation scenes as well but still had some downs in a couple episodes. Finally S3 Part 2 had the worst animation consistency of all, a lot of scenes were noticeably lazy and it had overused CGI, although they knew how to hide and camouflaged all of them nicely between the actual GREAT scenes. So technically AOT peaked at everything in S2, then wit studio started having schedule trouble and more and more responsibility with the series and that's why they split S3 in 2, it was too much to handle for such a little studio and it gradually got consistently worse, and finally dropped for the 4th season to Mappa because they couldn't handle it anymore. But anyway obviously there can be personal preferences regarding the Arcs. In general, personally it goes: S2 > S1 > S3P2 > S3P1 (it hurst me to leave the S3P1 at last because I FREAKIN LOVE the chase scene of EP2, but the arc in general is my least favorite)

- for me S2 was amazing...great jump from S1 ....and for you not to get confused this all happened few hours before Scouts arrived in Stohess to capture Annie (you can notice titans were spotted during day while Annie's capture and Miche's death happened during sunset), as 104th cadets were suspected of spies because of Annie was part of 104th so they were stationed without gear south of wall Sina ( you have wall Maria that was breached, Rose which now is considered breached as there are titans inside and where Connie, Reiner and other are right now and Sina where Stohess is) and those cadets didnt know anything about that mission to capture Annie, only higher ups like Miche knew....only Armin, Mikasa, Eren and Jean were in Stohess and right now know about Annie... - Beast titan is 17m and Eren's is 15m and Annie's 14m ...so yes its huge and wide - S2 is really full of mysteries ;) the scariest part was probably how the Beast titan was so interested in Miche's gear that he totally forgot about him and as Miche shouted he was like "(oh right that guy) You can move now" and didnt even care - Also S4 is coming out on 7th December in Japan so we can expect translated version on like 9th

Actually the manga was never delayed.... season 1 actually covered most of the manga available at that time...so they had to wait for the manga to ad sufficient chapters ...and now they are making a new season each year.
KLNDK I think when people say they didn’t like season 2 they mean to say season 3 part 1 because the main complaints is that the pace is too slow and there isn’t a lot of titan action which is not the case in season 2 at all

In case you didn't catch it, the reason *most* of the Survey Corps recruits were all in that castle together at the beginning, was because Erwin and the senior staff of the Corps were trying to find any other spies like Annie, since no one knows if she's acting alone or not. Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Jean were the only ones Erwin could trust, hence why they were all in Stohess fighting Annie. You can see one of the Scout officers mention "There are likely no more spies among the recruits" when they spot the Titans invading.
just to clarify, those people who were waiting bored/sent to investigate the titans (sasha/conny/reiner/etc) were outside of Wall Sina where the Annie fight happened. They were specifically kept away from that because only the people that were absolutely necessary to the Annie plan were included in it. This means that all of those people don't know that Annie is a titan or that Eren and her fought.
To sum it up, that person called Jake might like action more than storytelling. S1 is perfect for those who love actions while S2 and S3 will filter out those action-fans audiences since in these later seasons, the story keeps evolving especially its mysteries and the pay-off in S3 part 2 is so huge and might change your views on previous seasons due to many hints and foreshadowings being spread throughout all seasons ( yes including s1 which is one of the factor why many regard aot as masterpiece )

About that, compared to the others its not as good. People like the others because of the answers given and truths revealed. The 1st one sets up the worlds really well if you pay attention. Rewatching season 1 after the end of s3, it elevates it more because of the little nuggets of info given throughout s1. I appreciate it even more after rewatching.
nah I've seen the whole show and stan it hard but season 1 is still the best to me. It may only scrape the surface of the series' plot or themes but it is a msterfully told story and has the best animation of any of the seasons.
I rewatched the first season with my cousin yesterday and honestly it kinda drags compared to the rest. I mean it’s good and finding all the little foreshadowings is fun but damn the first half is so long. Like thank god my cousin promised to finish season 1 cause until the female Titan episode he was getting bored. Season 1 is good and being apart of a show I love it will always be great to me but this is a show that certainly gets better as it goes.

Remember guys Titans are most of the time inactive in the dark. So a Titan that’s been inside the walls for god knows how long with 0 sunlight would be passive and sleepy.

Honestly I liked Season 1 the best, not because it's better (they're all great IMO) but because we didn't know much about the titans. Fear of the unknown and all that and the female titan "arc" was a great example of that. Our characters' first expedition outside the walls and they didn't know what to expect. It just so happens it's probably one of the worst expeditions ever with the death toll being higher than normal. Also I was the guy from Orlando, I live so close to Disney I can see the fireworks outside my window everyday around 9:00. Man it was nice knowing you guys remembered my comment.
That ape is probably the Beast Titan. He didn't kill that ugly baby Titan, he just crushed his head and it started to regenerate with the smoke. Personally I think Mike would be still alive, if he would kill those other 4 Titans before calling his horse. When he had stop his fight, he have given up and the prize of this decision was his life. When Beast Titan have taken his 3D ODM Gear it was to late for Mike to fight. That is how I understand that. ;)

The reason for the 4 year time gap between the seasons was because after season 1, they ran out of materials from the books to continue. So rather than make their own story they waited for the author to finish more books so they could do more. The reason why there are changes from the books, are because the author was not 100% happy with the way his storytelling in the books were set up. So since he is working closely with the animation studio he have said that he feel he can change things he was not happy about from the books. Finally you are back! There are 2 schools of thought when it comes to what the best season is. People who say season 1 is the best is because they prefer the action and horror over the storyline. They resent the later Seasons because it moves away from senseless Titan slaying and more towards a story where you need to think. AND, what annoyed some people was that season 2 took 4 years to come out for half the Length of season 1. Season 3 was split in half so they can finish animating.. and fans of season 1 wanted it instantly on their lap. But in my opinion, the further you get into this show the better it gets. Season 1 is the worst season and it was INTENTUALLY made that way. Season 1 has a simple shonen storyline where it’s simply “good” vs “Evil” and season by season you realise this is slowly not the case. Season 2 hints the complexity of this conflict but season 3 fully explains it. And what we will get in season 4 will be the most morally grey storyline we have ever seen.. the show gets better because the entire show is a slow transition between a naive hero’s mentality to a complex narrative that has no right answers and no truly good people and no truly evil people too. People who like season 1 wants a simple show. People who say later Seasons are better appreciate this evolution in storytelling that was intentionally made.

The Beast titan (thats what he gets nicknamed) Comunicates with titans, not rly mindcontrolling since the little guy couldnt resist biting on Mike´s juicy legs. and the female titan just screamed to attract them, and sometimes titans look like they get attracted by vocals more then smell or visuals, but Eren did the same thing, Episode 8 he screamed for titans to come and get him like crazy, so that seems to be a basic thing both titanshifters can do.

idk if you've seen the ED track for this but, if you don't want any single spoiler, don't see the animation for the ending, it's all the hint for S4, however, it won't be a spoiler if you don't understand any of what's been shown. although for some viewers, it's hard to understand until you review the discusion by others.
In one TV program about AOT, the author said he didn't mind spoiling until final season. It means he has confidence in the lest of stories. I definitely agree, it's been really great stories since S3, can't wait final season and your reactions!!
Every season gets better lol after season 1, things start to change in a good way. Season 1 was probably the 3rd best season in my opinion and Season 3 Part 2 is peak AOT. Season 4 comes out on December 7, 2020. :)

Honestly when it comes to people who have stuck with the show until now, the popular consensus is that season 1 is one of the worst seasons. Not saying it’s bad, just not as good compared to the others
About that, compared to the others its not as good. People like the others because of the answers given and truths revealed. The 1st one sets up the worlds really well if you pay attention. Rewatching season 1 after the end of s3, it elevates it more because of the little nuggets of info given throughout s1. I appreciate it even more after rewatching.
nah I've seen the whole show and stan it hard but season 1 is still the best to me. It may only scrape the surface of the series' plot or themes but it is a msterfully told story and has the best animation of any of the seasons.

I rewatched the first season with my cousin yesterday and honestly it kinda drags compared to the rest. I mean it’s good and finding all the little foreshadowings is fun but damn the first half is so long. Like thank god my cousin promised to finish season 1 cause until the female Titan episode he was getting bored.
Season 1 is good and being apart of a show I love it will always be great to me but this is a show that certainly gets better as it goes.
Austin Smith masterfully told story? I don’t know man, there was a lot of filler in the Trost arc and some in the female titan arc, and pretty much zero character development

Honestly I liked Season 1 the best, not because it's better (they're all great IMO) but because we didn't know much about the titans. Fear of the unknown and all that and the female titan "arc" was a great example of that. Our characters' first expedition outside the walls and they didn't know what to expect. It just so happens it's probably one of the worst expeditions ever with the death toll being higher than normal.
Also I was the guy from Orlando, I live so close to Disney I can see the fireworks outside my window everyday around 9:00. Man it was nice knowing you guys remembered my comment.

That ape is probably the Beast Titan. He didn't kill that ugly baby Titan, he just crushed his head and it started to regenerate with the smoke. Personally I think Mike would be still alive, if he would kill those other 4 Titans before calling his horse. When he had stop his fight, he have given up and the prize of this decision was his life. When Beast Titan have taken his 3D ODM Gear it was to late for Mike to fight. That is how I understand that. ;)

The reason for the 4 year time gap between the seasons was because after season 1, they ran out of materials from the books to continue. So rather than make their own story they waited for the author to finish more books so they could do more.
The reason why there are changes from the books, are because the author was not 100% happy with the way his storytelling in the books were set up. So since he is working closely with the animation studio he have said that he feel he can change things he was not happy about from the books.

There are 2 schools of thought when it comes to what the best season is.
People who say season 1 is the best is because they prefer the action and horror over the storyline. They resent the later Seasons because it moves away from senseless Titan slaying and more towards a story where you need to think. AND, what annoyed some people was that season 2 took 4 years to come out for half the Length of season 1. Season 3 was split in half so they can finish animating.. and fans of season 1 wanted it instantly on their lap.
But in my opinion, the further you get into this show the better it gets. Season 1 is the worst season and it was INTENTUALLY made that way. Season 1 has a simple shonen storyline where it’s simply “good” vs “Evil” and season by season you realise this is slowly not the case. Season 2 hints the complexity of this conflict but season 3 fully explains it. And what we will get in season 4 will be the most morally grey storyline we have ever seen..
the show gets better because the entire show is a slow transition between a naive hero’s mentality to a complex narrative that has no right answers and no truly good people and no truly evil people too. People who like season 1 wants a simple show. People who say later Seasons are better appreciate this evolution in storytelling that was intentionally made.

Season 1 might not delve as deep into the story at large but it has just as much plot and character development if not more than the other seasons. When will this obnoxious trend of bashing season 1 because it was more popular than the other seasons and people like to be edgy end...

Austin Smith nope. Zero character development in s1, except maybe jean. Definitely not more than the others man what are you talking about. And it had some filler around the middle of the season and a lot of pacing issues.
Whoever said season one is the best and the rest is trash seriously needs to rewatch the show. Season two is better than one and season three is a masterpiece and perhaps one of the best anime seasons ever made! You guys are in for a ride. Also the opening is spoiler free! There's not a scene in it that take place in the entire season.

The Beast titan (thats what he gets nicknamed) Comunicates with titans, not rly mindcontrolling since the little guy couldnt resist biting on Mike´s juicy legs.
and the female titan just screamed to attract them, and sometimes titans look like they get attracted by vocals more then smell or visuals,
but Eren did the same thing, Episode 8 he screamed for titans to come and get him like crazy, so that seems to be a basic thing both titanshifters can do.

Every season gets better lol after season 1, things start to change in a good way. Season 1 was probably the 3rd best season in my opinion and Season 3 Part 2 is peak AOT. Season 4 comes out on December 7, 2020. :)
