I highly doubt that. For every fan they lose they will gain multiple back.

Small market teams definitely have a disadvantage. The media doesn't even want to talk about Denver, OKC, Indy, etc. but dick road Lebron and the trash Lakers until they were finally put out of their misery. The bias is real. It is an entertainment property now instead of a sports association.
What was awful by the rest was not calling a single foul on the next in the 3rd Quarter, while at the same time, if the next missed a shot in the 3rd Quarter, there was a foul. Every single missed shot. Some of those shots were wide open. No defender around them. Still call a foul. I saw one of the pacers. On a fast break, go up for a lay up defender grabs the shirt pulls him down towards the ground.The pacer was going up for a dunk.Switch to lay up and missed no call. but every knicks miss in the third was a foul. go back and watch
Our momentum and pace is a huge part of our game and when theres constantly bad calls happening it completely shuts down our game just bs

At this point, it would be in the NBA’s best interest to say the refs are betting on the game. At least then they just hired corrupt refs instead of incompetent ones.

How do you know this Tristan ? There’s been an nba ref who went to prison who’s said it’s rigged and he bet along with the script they gave him each night. He said the league would tell him how to officiate every game and he knew certain terms were going to win/cover and would bet along with it and told his friends too. It’s crazier to think it’s not rigged in that way honestly

The NBA did not hand out instructions, (there'd be other whistleblowers) Donaghy would give out insider information and would bet on games he was officiating, be claimed that yeah star players don't get called for fouls as much and that referees are humans who come with their own prejudices and biases. But what you're claiming is a gross misrepresentation

I don't think disservice is all that great of a word to use but I'm just so irritated with this same old song and dance. We as a nation should boycott the NBA and see if they survive. Let both teams play the game and see who comes out as the winner!

NBA refs need investigated for a betting ring. Not only that, but there's certainly something to the fact that it's MUCH better for the NBA if the Knicks and Celtics make the Conference Finals, than it is for the Cavs or Pacers to make the Conference Finals. The hilarious part, is that it's blatantly obvious. I'm an official in racing myself. I do timing and scoring at one of the best and most popular dirt tracks in the country, and if we did what the NBA does as a professional sports league, no one would show up to the track.....

Please, I could go over many obvious calls. The offensive foul on Turner when Brunson uses his hands to push himself off Turner and falls down. The double dribble, the push in the back on haliburton, the kick ball again that was a hand in game 2. Not to mention the calls in game 1. The NBA wants the Knicks to go as far as they can. If Boston wasn't a big market they d probably get screwed too. If Cleveland somehow won, they won't make it past new York.The Indy crowd will be going nuts if this happens there. Worst officiated game since Lakers vs Kings in early 2000s playoffs. If you can't see how the bad refs were then then you don't know basketball or you're just lying to yourself. Watch it again.

Every game both teams could find 30+ plays to send in complaining about the refs. If the refs called every foul that takes place in a game neither team would have the players needed to finish said game. Of the 78 plays they sent in (over 2 games) maybe 6 of them have any real merit. Bottom line Indiana needs to play better (especially on the defensive side of the ball). And coaching wise he needs to make better decisions (why are Toppin & McConnel riding bench last 5 minutes of game when they have been 2 of their best players im the series)

While you’re not wrong, you have to admit the not all fouls are equal. 1) Who the foul is called on, 2) when in the game it’s called, and 3) the cadence of calls have a HUGE impact on the game.
You can’t honestly say the Pacers and Knicks were held to equal standards the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter.

I think it's funny how they defend the refs even though there's tons of footage of the refs interfering. I've seen refs tackle wide receivers before they've caught the ball in football..how about the free throw differential between the lakers and everyone else?? You can't defend the refs with everything getting video nowadays
You don't think last night's refs were awful? You need to go back and watch the 3rd Quarter. Pay attention to the fouls every play. Watch how aggressive and physical knicks are on devents. Not one Foul called and watch how soft the refs are for the knicks on offense. every miss

Game 1 was terrible. Game 2 wasnt as bad but still favored Knicks. Not the reason we lost though we lost cause poor play and coaching game 2. Refs cost us game 1 for sure.

REFs are how leagues cheat. Rugby Union has instant replay unlimited use of replay and EVERYONE likes it because it always gets the right call so the refs don't impact the games. They have refs upstairs watching the instant replays and radio down to the field ref to make or change a call in seconds. ( replays also give the league a revenue stream to advertise during replays )

The only way this changes is we move to AI. The nba reffing has been horrible the last few years and their egos are getting bigger each day. They really think they’re the reason we go to see them.
