People complain about kids being addicted to screen time but kids imitate parents. You will be amazed how connected you become when you minimize screen time at home!

I feel so guilty..... im going to stop being on my phone as much.

It’s actually getting worse than simply not having parents attention. Moms are straight up leaving small children in a bath to check their phones... 5 minutes turn into 30 real quick, then the small children drown. That’s the world we live in now.

Now if those women were babysitters who were doing that, then the parents would have had a hissy fit. Just because you aren't "on the clock" doesn't mean you can just skirk parental duties and awareness of your child, especially infants and toddlers.

    It is called awareness. AWARENESS.

Seen adults do this too. I still try to interact with those around me. But when it really frustrating when they can not look up or ignore you to even play and even spouses do to each other. They get bad when claim you being rude when ya trying to get them off phone to pay attention to live person.

I have seen entire families out to eat on special occasions and every single one of them is on their tablet or mobile phone as if they could have just stayed home.

My 3 year old acts completely different if he is on tablet gets very irritated easily and won’t even want to eat sometimes. So now that he is showing this kind of behavior he isn’t allowed at all on tablet problem solved only takes a week and your child should be a lot better

I have seen little ones out for a walk with their parent.. and their parent is on the phone instead of paying attention to their child. Very sad

Back in the day it was war against too much book reading, now this. The war against self learning and research rages on.

I don't know how you got that from a video about paying attention to your child more instead of using your phone

  • @DrLuke49

Two minutes is all it takes for a toddler or small child to drown in the bathtub or the family pool.
Parents should learn how to plan ahead when multitasking or ensure extra eyes, ears and helping hands are around if they absolutely cannot avoid being on their electronic devices.

There are also studies that show toddlers are more developmentally advanced than those that don't use tablets and phones. Better fine motor skills, attention, and problem solving. My son just turned 3 and he can count to 20 and read. He has also figured out on his own how to play complicated games that are difficult even for me.
I think it also stimulates their imagination and creativity more. I do of course limit his screen time and will go for days at a time without it. Too much screen time is unhealthy for all ages. Socialization and exercise are also very important.

My mom is stressed out a lot, she homeschools us, and she works from home, and she has 3 kids, and she has to clean the house, it is EXTREMELY messy, 24/7. It is very heard for her and i'm always concerned about my 3 yr old sister being on the phone for like 6 hours straight, same with my brother, he is 9, and i am 12, and i dont want them living off the screens, it has been like that for almost 3 years now.

I don't have a child and I never will, but I do have a cat, and I've noticed the same disappointment and frustration from her when I'm on my phone. She hates the thing, I can see it in her eyes when she looks at it. She knows that the phone is what steals my attention away from her. I feel so guilty. She wants to cuddle, or play, and sometimes I'm just glued to the phone and for some reason it's so hard to put it down, even when I know I should pay attention to her instead. I have to force myself to, but once I've attended to her needs, I'm right back on it again and then she'll bug for something else and I have to put it down again, so my time at home is just constantly being on phone -> cuddle with cat -> resume being on phone -> play with cat -> resume being on phone etc. I need to try to stop going back to the phone and just stay off of it

Umm why? Is this what parents do with their feckin toddlers now? Tablets and smart phones weren’t around when my kids were that age, I had a Nokia lol. I mean if your kids are calling you especially at 2 what parent doesn’t respond? This is really sad. Now that mine are teens when we go out to eat all the phones go in the center of the table and you’re not allowed to touch them.
