  • It is August 1st and the garden is still doing well. I do have a few bug problems that I review but overall I am very pleased with the season so far. We are now eating broccoli, cucumbers, zucchini, basil, kale and other herbs.

Fully understand. The term is used so often. Thank you so much and have a great day.

we only use heirloom seeds. we never get blight. ppl all around us that dont plant heirlooms loose their crops every year over blight. heirlooms are the way to go. Insect covers keep the moth/worms away on anything that doesnt require bees to pollinate. love the garden. love the videos. nice work.

The caterpillars are called cabbage worms. I haven't tried yet but I'm told growing thyme with the cabbage family helps repel the moths.

Thank you! I'll be sure to keep that in mind when planning my garden for next year. The moths and catepillars aren't too bad this season. My major issue this year are the squash beetles!

+Free Range People I'll be testing this also this year but I'm also told nasturtiums and icecicle radishes help with squash beetles. Hope this helps. Love the videos!

The garden is looking great. Since broccoli, etc. don't need pollinators, you can throw some bug netting over it so the moths don't have access to them.
(Please note that this is being said in a VERY friendly way) Not sure if you realize that the term "Square Foot Gardening" is trademarked and it's appreciated if when using it that you give credit to Mel Bartholomew who created the SFG method. Your followers can find more info about the book and the SFG Foundation, whose mission is to end world hunger, at www.squarefootgardening.com
    Thanks friend!

Kim Roman Thank you for the advice Kim. I apologize, I didn't realize the term was trademarked. I will make sure to give Mel credit in all of my future videos plus I will add the link to the descriptions of the old videos. Thanks again
