Great footage. It brings back a lot of memories. I completed the walk back in 2010 over 17 days in blazing sunshine. Camped every night. [I had a couple of days off to rest my aching feet]. I'd love to have another crack at it.
Loved the video, Thank you. Did this hike 17 years ago. In 7 months I'll be taking my 17 year old daughter as a graduation present. I've hiked many places and this hike out does them all.
Well done. And without a stopover. Just started my research for my C2C challenge in June 21. Thanks for highlighting the day to day start and finish points. Makes an optional structure.
Nice video I had a pint with two gentleman at the farmers arms at Muker talked about the grueling conditions but great scenery now I see what they were up against
Great video! Very well put together. Love the background music. Watching this just brings back memories having done it twice: landscapes, panoramas, changing weather, etc. Great job. I'm just doing up a non-fiction memoir about my time on it. I feel I don't know how to get anyone, if they'd wan to, to read it.
I sadly didn't due to work and an ankle injury. Still training up to do it for charity in the summer this year. Attempting to do it in 16 days with 2 or 3 of those being rest days.
what a strong man you are! and is that your Mrs with you? amazing. Wish I could do the same to reduce my blood pressure. Excellent way of living I say! cheers.
Hi fantastic video Did that yellow digital box take you all the way there ? Does it tell you when turn left and right and direct you down the right paths ? I want to do this this walk but my my nap reading skills are none existent ? Any advise would be great I’ve got good fitness and my kit is packed ready to take this on but I worry I will get lost everyday
Did it and survived. Highlights of PW: Kinder downfall Millstone edge Stoodley Pike Malham Cove Pen-y-Ghent High Force Cauldron Snout High Cup X Fell Highlights of Coast to Coast: Finding £25 on the road in Ingleby Arncliff! (sorry Wainwright)
Very good guys, I'm planning some really long walks myself, I would really like to walk the whole coastline of the UK (barring Northern Ireland as it isn't connected with the land) at some point. Seems like a real adventure.
You’d better start now, that’s somewhere between 7,000 and 11,000 miles, (the true distance is unknowable as it depends upon how it’s measured), just for the mainland and around 19,500 if you include the islands.
Could you tell me how you put in the topography map of the route and 2 hikers into the video please as I, without really noticing it, realised it definitely adds to the video.
the map is from google earth. I added a GPS route I downloaded from the internet . Then put on the way points with the walkers graphic from google earth. Does than make sense?
Hello David. Loved your video footage of your 'coast 2 coast walk... hoping to do it next year. Could you tell me if the trail is easy to follow? Are there plenty of signs? Cheers Gary
Hi David, thanks for sharing your adventure in this beautiful video. My wife and me are planning on going in 2018. Your backpacks look fairly big - did you carry all your luggage or did you use a sherpa service? What would you recommend?
David, I have watched your C2C walk video a couple times. It looks wonderful. I have a question: how did you get the 3-D map to show the daily route across the landscape from one location to the next? Lois
Hello David. Could I please ask you if you stayed in B&Bs through out your walk and how much funds one would need to complete the walk, do walkers ever get caught out and have to camp, or is there plenty camp sites along the way ?
Looking at this myself the whole route is geared to this c2c walk. The pubs on route allow you to camp in their gardens, some will even pick you up and drop u off. If u average £60/£70 a night for b&bs u won't go far wrong. No need for cooking stove and lots of food as u can eat along the way to save on pack weight. But book 6 months in advance for b&bs as they get booked up quick and the towns r very small with plenty of walkers passing through. I've weighed up the options and going down the b&b route so to carry a far lighter pack.
pelle lindbergh with that question I'm going to guess your from across the pond. We don't have any kind of permit system. The only thing you can't do is camp wherever you like. It's tolerated in the Lake District in the mountains but the whole route has campsites and pubs you can camp in the pub gardens. And plenty of places to stop for food etc so no need for a heavy pack with cooking equipment.
Planning to do this in the spring of 2023 over 10 days. Thanks for this video, very helpful in my research.
Nice video. We are so lucky to have our beautiful countryside. it's the best in the world.
Excellent video Dave, thanks for posting 👏

Even though I’m a kid, I did this to raise money for cancer research. I enjoyed it!

This was lovely. We're doing it in July, 2014. Wonderful people, scenery, animals and music.
Hi David
I've played this fantastic video of yours many times. Well done too you both on completing the 192 mile coast to Coast walk.
Did the walk in May. Thrill of a lifetime. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories!
Lovely video Dave, I admire your resilience! Pity the weather wasn't kinder to you. I hope it's kinder to us when we attempt the same walk!
Well done. And without a stopover.

Lovely video guys although the weather looked pretty ordinary the countryside was beautiful and you both kept smiling. Well done
Very well put together!
Very nice walk and people. I hope I could do it by August this year. Start looking for a group to go with.
Nice video. The background music though reminds me of The Krypton Factor, or something off of a health & safety video or something.
Great video. I've been looking at doing this for a while now, planning on doing it the second week in August.
Did you get to do the walk?
I sadly didn't due to work and an ankle injury. Still training up to do it for charity in the summer this year. Attempting to do it in 16 days with 2 or 3 of those being rest days.
Excellent, well done 👍.
An enjoyable video and well put together nice work!

Headed there the 5th of June. Looking at the weather but still trying to figure out when the wet comes
Very good guys, I'm planning some really long walks myself, I would really like to walk the whole coastline of the UK (barring Northern Ireland as it isn't connected with the land) at some point. Seems like a real adventure.
Sounds like a challenge! But we always enjoy long distance walks even when it is wet.
I am planning to walk from Stoke UK to Barcelona lol. Ppl just think I'm mad but I've got my heart set on it now lol

Great journey, would be great to attempt it. :)) Thank you, thumbs up. :))
great video well done
Thanks for the positive feedback !
Thank you wonderful
what a great video. thank you :-)
Yeesh!! Took me a minute of looking to realize those feet pictured on Day 3 were padded with wool and not suffering from some new kind of trench foot!
Hello David. Loved your video footage of your 'coast 2 coast walk... hoping to do it next year. Could you tell me if the trail is easy to follow? Are there plenty of signs? Cheers Gary
Did you get to do it or is it still in the planning stage? The Skyware map we used made it easy to follow
Nice enjoyable trip. Enthusiastic persons
day 3 - Grasmere at 4mins and 46 seconds: what is that between your toes? Is it to help prevent blisters?
Great video David. Thanks for taking the time to make it. What time of year did you do it?
Hi David, this may sound like an odd question, but, what was the stuff you had wedged between your toes? (4.47/1947)
Lois
All done with Google earth. I downloaded the track off the internet then added our stop-over points.
Thank you so much for the advise! Hope I can figure it out for myself.
Ok, so I am a bit stuck again. How and where did you download "the track" off the internet? I keep looking and can't figure it out.
Wow you must be as fit as a fiddle, do you camp out or stay in B&Bs ?
You will have to come to New Zealand and walk the length and breath I did it in 1982 5000 km you will need about 5 pair boots
Hello David. Could I please ask you if you stayed in B&Bs through out your walk and how much funds one would need to complete the walk, do walkers ever get caught out and have to camp, or is there plenty camp sites along the way ?

Check out Paul willcocks c2c walk on you tube day by day showing routes stop offs very helpful
Great video Dave, inspiring stuff. Question: Do you have a dog?
The dog belonged to a fellow walker. Both the dog and his owner made excellent traveling companions!
looking for a map of hiking trail USA
Good👍.
Did you walk this solo, or with a group?
The two of us walked the coast-to-coast but found we often met up with the same people along the way.
do you need maps ?
Nice,☺do you need a permit?
