- VINYL HAS SOLD OUT
My guest on the podcast this week is Bryan Garris, vocalist of KNOCKED LOOSE. They're just about to put out the album of the year 'You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To' on May 10th.
We talk ALL about that plus religion, playing coachella, and getting his eye ripped out by a beagle. Great lad. Great band. ≈

"You ever put Shrek 2 on and mosh for the whole fucking thing", is it to late to change my favorite quote for giveaway?
this might be the all timer for the whole fuckin podcast
also, you know some band is gonna put Shrek 2 on them on the LED wall at some point now
denied by fate?
The calmest cat becomes the most unhinged beast when the beat drops. I love the contrast in Bryan.
Bryan almost getting his eyeball ripped out by a beagle is metal af
I love Bryan giving Kublai Khan their props, both K/L and Kublai Khan are incredible
Add Hatebreed and that's been 90% of my Playlist for the past year lol
Boy be blinkin hard AF
Lack of sleep & smoking will do that
@@strivingtogrow8612 watch the entire ep
@@strivingtogrow86121:27:20
@@strivingtogrow8612 he doesn’t smoke. he has turrets/ticks.
@@Brandon-nt7oc I never noticed this in other interviews but vaping is a thing.
Get that badge in Bryan. When you've got the podcast at 11 and Millwall at home at 3.
underrated comment😂
haaahahahaha
I was at blueridge both years! A lot of people were waiting for sleep token when knocked loose played and had no idea what was about to happen when knocked loose came out. It was a legendary moment for me watching the sleep tokens fans fight for their life during knocked loose
I was at the very front of the GA crowd for Blue Ridge last year! My friends love both bands, so they brought me along - which was how Knocked Loose ended up being my first pit show. I'm so, so hyped to see them again next month
@@Confusion7182 that's awesome!!
Sleep token is ass
@@kingdick8390 who
i can vouch for that. it’s in the running to be to be my favorite knocked loose set. there was something so satisfying about watching that unfold 😭
NOBODY was tryna help that guy surf at 20:07 LMAO I'm pretty sure he just bit straight ground. At least they were nice enough to help him back up 🤣
Yeah THAT looked painful!
20:04 *iT* *lO_oked* like *KaRMa...*

i’ve always loved how this podcast goes from asking a question from the notes to a conversation that branches off to completely obscure things that only a genuine chat between friends get
thank you. you get it.
Dude I hope the elderly woman from the plane story eventually hears the story for the album name, thats so fucking interesting.
“Bend the knee, child of God” hits so much harder after this episode!!
It’s really cool because I’ve noticed the “hard blink” as a nervous tick before, and notably recognized midway through this that he wasn’t doing it much at all. That’s a testament to comfort, friendship, and progress.
Awesome fuckin pod, by the way.
The KL LORE in this episode is pure gold. You can tell when artists pull from their own experiences to make their art because it always feels more personal and special. Brian is that kind of artist and it's so interesting to hear about the experiences that inspired him.
You wouldn't believe how excited I am to see another knocked loose member on the show!
I wish Bryan would do more long form like this. Quite an interesting guy.
I totally get the kublai khan bit. It was so crazy for me to see the stick to your guns headliner run in New Haven, with kublai direct support. They absolutely murdered their set and the whole room was empty afterwards with only a few people staying for stick. Mental
Dude on a hardlore Podcast Vincent from The Acacia Strain said he never wants to play after Kublai khan again.
I think this is my favourite podcast episode of all time
The absolute sadness I felt when I found out the vinyl was sold out can only be matched by the happiness I felt when I clicked the link with hopes of buying it
I've only just seen the notification and I'm so psyched. Bryan is crushing it right now and he's such a thoughtful dude. This is bound to be excellent, the dream guest I didn't know I needed.
Yep, this was an all-time great interview.
Let Bryan blink as much as he wants; the universe clearly wants his eyeball.
Also shout-out Bryan's wholesome grandpa
Bryan is such a down to earth dude. Enjoy his interviews more than anyone
Every time I load up a new downbeat
“It can’t possibly look any better than this, it just can’t be done”
And yet
1:21:57 I am judged and set on fire at the stand falling deaf to their cries, the bleating of a hundred voices in unison asking me why
Thanks! I was wondering where that popped up on the EP
Really cool story about how he got the name for the album on the flight from that lady. Sometimes god talks to you in unexpected ways
I was at Knotfest Iowa and the crowd went absolutely nuts when KL played. Great show.
I love when my most hyped albums drop on my birthday
The wife and I were at the last Blue Ridge. Everybody in the crowd there was absolutely sucking due to how hot it was/poor planning by the people who put it on. When KL came on it was absolute fuckin nuts. It was like the whole crowd turned into a mosh pit, I’ll never forget it 🤘🏼 love these guys.
Absolutely love around the 58:00 how much effort both these bands do to actually credit photographers and make shit real. ❤❤
Bryan getting the badge in, in case it kicks off.👊🏼
Bryan is my inspiration, im currently trying to make music and he, without a doubt, is the reason why im finally doing it after so many people have asked why I haven't. thank you for having him on! I hope to collab with him one day!
this is awesome, i’ve always wanted to make music in this similar style. i can’t say im a fan of knocked loose, but im a fan of the individuals in KL. especially bryan after this episode! so cool to see him inspire you to finally start music, maybe ill do the same one day
One of the best so far!
Fantastic podcast, loved every second
this was so good, thank you for the amazing pod as always!
Legendary episode!!!
one of the best downbeat eps probably. great conversation.
HELL YES! The episode I was hoping for! Amazing work as always Craig. That vinyl is to die for
Hell yeah glad to have Bryan back. Incredibly stoked for their new record.
What a great talk, Brtan is such a cool guy. Can't wait for the album
Absolutely loved this episode, could sit and listen to you pair all day!! Brian seems like one of the nicest guys
This was everything I could have wanted and more. Thanks for another incredible episode Craig!🖤
Absolutely awesome getting some insight into Bryan's relationship with religion and how it ties together across different tracks/albums.
Love your work as always Craig.
such a fun and chill video
This interview was so captivating. Thank you 🤍
These videos tend to inspire the hell outta me to write music and always turn me into a huge fan of these musicians. Thanks for doing these interviews Craig ✊🙏
this is the first podcast episode ever that I've watched all the way through. two genuine people
amazing interview
Great episode! Love this guy 🫂
This was such a lovely episode! Thank you for sharing such beautiful and personal stories :) Suffocate has been on repeat, and I’ll definitely be listening to more KL!
Really love listening to him talk and tell stories about stuff. Definitely have him back soon.
This was a lovely episode of the podcast!
"Dude it was a beagle" gives same vibe as "Sir this is a Wendy's"
this was such an interesting interview, love the story about the new album title. I don't even listen to KL that much but saw them live with MIW and they were incredible
Wow great interview. Bryan is such a good dude. Him and the band deserve the best, cannot wait for the new album this Friday. Watch out for evil beagles
I could listen to this guy talk all day. Did not expect him to be this chill
I saw them with MIW and I was so excited to see them. Im going to see them in June. I swear I love Bryan and appreciate how honest he is. Such a great band.
Im terrified of flying too and this made me feel better.
Dude I'm so stoked the "Eye for an eye" line is being used again literally like the best scream ever.
This was so enjoyable!
Dude. This is giving me chills. I never wanted anything to do with the church. But the exact situation Bryan described losing a friend in high school, happened to my friends and I. We lost a friend junior year. Guy driving the car they were in was no good. Guy was a problem. Took no responsibility. Never saw cuffs.
I literally yelled "YEEEES" when I saw this upload.. about to dive in. THANKS BIG DOG
i was at that bristol show, still the best gig to date i've ever been to. university loan well spent haha
Man i went to high school with Bryan. He was 2 grades above me. I never became close to him but I was always going to shows. I now live in Oklahoma and it is so awesome to see these guys killing it. Anytime i need a taste of home, i'll listen to Knocked Loose. They played in OKC on 5/4 and it was the first time i'd seen them since 2015 or so. What a fucking show
I noticed the nervous blink. Super cute. I love it.
Fastest 90mins in my life. I need another interview with Bryan ASAP!
To be honest, I just started listening to Knocked Loose because their name goes HARD😂 I’m so excited for the new album😳 Thanks for the episode🖤🖤
Man this was so awesome. YUUUGE KL fan and loved getting to know Bryan a little more vicariously through Down Beat haha. There’s this page with Bryan’s name attached to it on Facebook that I communicated with for a bit thinking it was him but deep down I knew it wasn’t lol. This is as close as it gets to learning about KL/Bryan 🤘
This whole chunk around the 1:01:00 mark is so sick. I love hearing people's take on spirituality. If anything, life as a human is awesome. Great episode Craig, you are doing awesome work. (keep up the vlogs too.)
Insane collab goddamn
I love everything about this
So stoked they brought Choir Boy out. They are such a good band.
Unbelievable pod! Definitely agree about the Kublai Khan direct support comment. Saw them play before Chelsea Grin and they absolutely mopped the floor with everyone.
rad interview Bryan
Sick conversation first off! I'm new to Knocked Loose an Bryan. I'm 42 an a snowmaker at a ski resort here in Maine. So I'm probably a little older than the rest of the fans. I've only been listening for a year. And what a year it's been! This music brings so many emotions out of me I love everything the band an their team is doing. I can relate to Bryan's religious beliefs and his past with religion. I grew up catholic in Massachusetts as an alterboy when all the priests stuff was going on. No it never happened to me. I say it's because I was a chubby kid but who knows with those sickos. Anyways I'm happy this video came across my algorithm it was great to hear Bryan speak because I've only listened to the music side of him so thank you for this. Hope everyone has a great day 🤘
One of the Most Hyped Up Vocalists ive ever Seen Live!!!@
got chills listening to the airplane story. cant wait for the album! great episode as always.
Boy really be blinking hard af 😀 No but for real, great interview and what a fucking chamge from that monster of a vocalist to this calm and relaxing dude. I loved every second of this!🖤
The story of the album title gave me chills.
Machine head dynamo is amazing, legendary footage
Best music podcast atm🔥
You’ve got the same eye twitch as me mate!! Hehehe. Love it!! 🙌🏻✊🏻
14:44 was at Knotfest 2021. Knocked loose killed it and the festival as a whole was amazing
Dude yessss!!!!
the slaughterhouse II easter egg talk gave me chills lmao. i love lil cool shit like that
Bryans the man, seen KL every London show since their Dome performance, legends
It's him
@@connorfarrell2356 General Garris
bryan garris is probably one of my favorite dudes to watch get interviewed
THAT STAGE DIVE INTO THE DIRT SENT ME OVER THE EDGE OF EARTH, ITS FLAT BOYS
Best episode yet. What a genuinely beautiful guy Bryan is... There's a lot of dudes in metal that need to take a good look at themselves. Maybe if they just take a few lessons from Bryan, the world would be a better place.
I’ve never hated this band. I discovered this band listening to Despised Icon on UA-cam and the next song to play was Oblivions Peak and from there on I was hooked to Knocked Loose. This band goes hard
I have a picture of Knocked Loose at Blue ridge last year. I remember looking behind me and not understanding how that many people were watching and stayed watching.
I was at the 2019 Stray / KL show in Bristol! I flew from Portugal to see Northlane 2 days before that show and i stayed so could catch all those sick bands. TBH - I'm not a huge hardcore fan, and even tho I liked a couple of KL songs, i went in like "ok let me see what these guys got, lets check what all the fuss is about".
10 seconds after they got on stage I was completely blown away and i realised how absolutely genius they are.
Lenda ❤️
Beautiful album cover
The first time I ever saw Knocked Loose was that first American tour for Craig. Took a train to Chicago to see STYG, Stray, Knocked Loose, and Expire. Was sick af truly
I came just for KL on that polish Parkway Drive show, me and my homies loved it
That Displate of power with the paper absolutely killed me 😂
I remember watching Kublai support Stray in Newy Australia, Kublai had the sickest set ever but you guys definitely came out on top. I think you had super bad jet lag too 😅😅..but smashed the set 💪🏻
That Neural DSP ad was fucking hilarious. Pling plong plong. Kumbaya made me lose it 😂
48:57 is giving supportive but concerned homie and i giggled so bad. love the story regarding the title.
You guys on the same day as Meshuggah was amazing last year, hoping KL tour on the Motionless tour next year too
My friend brought up this podcast to me. Its so awesome hahaha 😂
"dude it was a beagle" is my new fav quote!
63k subs at the beginning of Q2. I feel like you’re getting the vanity plaque this year dude.
Dont reach for me is going to be a track I listen to 30 years from now.
