- Fans reacted with disappointment after England lost to Italy on penalties in the Euro 2020 final.
Around 60,000 fans at Wembley witnessed the Three Lions' defeat, while millions watched in pubs, fan zones and homes across the country.
At a fan zone in Rome, thousands of fans started jumping in pure elation, shouting and hugging each other.
The victory at Wembley stadium brought Italy its first European title since 1968.

England embarrased herself. In the semifinal, the team didn't manage a single goal, but had to rely on a hooligan firing a laser into the eyes of goalkeeper in a penalty that wasn't even a penalty. And they almost ruined the final by a sad defensive play after the early goal. Add to the misery that both Danish and Italian supporters were seriously harassed before and after the games far outside of the stadium. In one occasion an angry mob forced themselves into a bus carrying a small family of Danish supporters, including two small children that had to run for their life. What culture is this? Shame on you, England!

Obviously I was upset about England losing but I was happy for you guys.
I apologize for the behaviour shown by some of our fans throughout the tournament. It was truly disgusting, and I fully understand why yourselves and other nations were angry with our fans. I hope that the England fans who showed this behaviour learn their lesson soon.

I don't even like football but for some reason I just feel disappointed more disappointed then I have any right to be I guess it would have been nice to win for once and it would have also been nice to have an emergency bank holiday but I should have known better than to get excited. Though I watched the penalty shootouts and it looked to me (as someone with no football experience mind you so take this with a grain of salt) like the game was intentionally thrown it looked to me like they picked the youngest and least experienced players on the team to do the penalty kicks and one of them was using a tactic I used to use on my dog as a child I think someone was accepting bribes or protesting or something. Or England just plain suck which I admit is an equal possibility.

England had the advantage of playing all games on home ground and were lucky to avoid big teams. (Except Germany who are very poor shape at the moment.) Also lucky to be awarded a fictional penalty against Denmark. They didn't deserve to be finalists they were extremely lucky.
