I've played quite a bit of this game and I have to say, it makes me want a full AAA vr spiderman game so bad, or just a little swinging simulator with actual physics in vr. I just wanna be spiderman so badly!!
Check out jet island ! It's got proper swinging physics and huge Shadow of the Colossus style bosses ! (it's also got jetpack hands and frictionless surfboards, so not quite spiderman, but it's really fun !) It's not extremely long but definetly one of my favourite VR games.

Watching Dan crawling towards the edge of that first building reminds me of visiting the Sears Tower in Chicago. The top-floor observation deck has a glass box attached to the outside of the building that you can walk into, glass floor, nothing else between you and the ground. First time I was there... as I stepped into the box my stomach actually lurched. Felt it perfectly clearly. I honestly hadn't thought that that was a real thing.
Did Dan really swing around for that long without triggering the Mini-story monster battle? Or did he just turn it off in the apartment? It's been a while since I've webswinged in this so I forget if that's an option.
If you want a better swinging experience, you have to try Project TX! I don't know if it's on your radar but it has better physics than most of the AAA VR games (Boneworks & Alyx included) and is a labour of love by JUST ONE GUY!! Check out NimSony's channel for more info!
This looks like the spider-man's version of that dream that we want to hit someone but to not have any strenght and the punch falls flat. looks like he's inside water or something, so slow, but looks kinda fun nonetheless
Unoriginal Name if you’ve got a PS4 then you do. You also have the option of just getting an oculus quest. It requires no PC and acts as a stand-alone headset.
Unoriginal Name Occulus quest is the cheapest VR port you can buy in terms of equipment (PSVR being the second cheapest due to the cost of the camera and move controllers). You also are unlikely to find them at random shops (in the UK at least) so everyone I know and me included bought it off of the official oculus website. Still up to you if you think it’s too expensive but I was just saying that it is an easy form of access to the world of VR Gaming.
Btw dan there is an entire section of that game where you fight a giant robot going through the city by webbing it up and making walls to stop it and you have to web swing after it, just so you know
I wonder how much of the fact that there is no moment is to do with limitations of the technology and how much is to do with how incredibly motion sick you would get if it had it
If you like this you should try a VR game called Jet island. It's not Spiderman themed but it's basically Spiderman + iron man be, fighting giant bosses that look like they've been taken straight out of avengers. It's incredible!
I can't believe he didn't try tying a car to the road or a building or two cars together with the webs! Tho I doubt this game has physics that advanced :D
Exactly what I was thinking. It was falling and pulling, not swinging. For a start I thought maybe Dan was doing it wrong but it doesn't appear that was the case. Hopefully that's something that'll improve over time.
It kinda looks like a semi crap mod for garry's mod bc when dan fell of the crane, his shadow did the same falling animation as gmod. For what it is rn it needs a lot of improvement especially the swinging, but I think it has potential
theres a game called jet island that has propper grapple mechanics and its a lot better to pretend to be spiderman/silversurfer in that than it was in this game dan i suggest you try it

You should try the Spiderini Demo by Nimsony. It's just a demo, but the swinging and movement system feels so right.
