What a great video! I enjoyed watching this as I had my morning coffee and it was a great way to begin my day. Thank you for sharing with us and I'm looking forward to future videos. Love the "crinkle" paper...and yes...I'm nerdy enough that I cranked the volume as you flipped through it! Have a wonderful day!
so awesome that I found your video! I just ordered from Monique and I can't wait to receive the TN from her, she's so talented! thank you for sharing your amazing inserts, I definitely am a newb to this and I want to make the very best of my TN.
Thanks! I enjoy the process of trying/making/hacking inserts, and mixing things up in my notebook :) You can't make a mistake, just have fun! Feel free to link any videos you upload below.
Jane Austen, onion skin paper, chic sparrow notebooks...you are my kind of gal! I love that you are showing things that are 'different' from all the other Midori You tube videos out there. Respectfully...your latest subscriber....
Love your video! Thank you so much for sharing your Midori. I also purchased the creme brulee narrow and I love it! I am definately ordering that onion skin paper. Love it and the crinkling sound!! :) Can't wait to see your hobonichi
You do need it, lol, it's awesome. And...expensive, I've found...suggest you order a sample pack before investing in a full team, or split a ream with a friend :)
Yay! Love your videos--thanks for the tour of your notebooks, I really enjoyed it! Have not put my creme brûlée to use yet, but was inspired by your video to get moving on it!:)
Yessss! How's that creme brulee going? ;) it can be tough to find real setup time during the fall/winter: too much going on, right? Would love to see a pic/video/blog post on yours, leave a link here if you'd like :)
Ohhh, I have a ream of the onion skin from the Paper Mill Store, I don't know why it didn't occur to me to make a book for my 'dori with it. Or, ooo, a mix of onion skin and Tomoe River. I love your TN, so stuffed and lovely.
Loved this video, Im new to planning, i have been making my own inserts and I loved your tip about getting them trimmed.! Anyway, my issue has been what a standard size insert should be, also the cover. I am sewing these also and am on Hoots and giggles Crafts channel. I cant find any tutorials that tell me what exactly the standard size is...Ive made like 6 and some are too thin, some are too tall because the videos looked like the notebook was 10 1\4. So I will keep looking. ugh, and thanks for your video.
Hi Lisa, thanks for watching! To meet the finished size of a regular Midori brand insert, I double the finished width, adding 1/4"+ for the inner fold and side trimming after sewing. Or, I'll sew large sheets and trim to the desired size afterwards, to fit my cover. That might work for you :)
Hi, thank you! I do not have a video uploaded on how I sew my inserts. But there are several out there, try searching making travelers notebook inserts and you'll find some links :)
Patty McNally this is the only way YT will let me reply to you, crazy...Patty, a thousand thank yous for indulging my nerd-dom...that is what happens when I film late at night. Very glad I helped you start your day! L.
THERE IS NO BEHIND! Sounds like you're doing your 5 minutes a day for WFS (a least!). That's all that counts :) Very jealous of your onion skin paper inserts. I love onion skin paper so much, especially for drawing but it's like trying to find unicorn poop over here. The best I found was form the US, 75 sheets for $8 - with $43 postage!!! Ugh. I'll have to stick with the 013 refills, which I love but I do miss the days of onion skin paper.
This paper I found at the recommendation of a member of MTN Pen & Ink on Facebook. I have scoured stores, web, etc., before that, with no luck. Crazy! Thanks for watching, Professor ;)
I loved the video! You have the most beautiful journals. I was wondering about your experience with ballpoint pens on onion skin paper (love that crinkle) but I'm not a big fountain pen girl
Did a quick test with a fine ballpoint and it wrote well. It did smear a bit with an immediate rub after lifting the pen, but not much, and it wasn't a full smear; the line looked a bit fuzzy. Hth!
Pam, many thanks for watching and commenting, sharing ideas ideas is truly what keeps me going on these videos. Watching others' taught me so much about how a notebook/planner, creatively used, can truly offer so much more than just a list of appointments.
And I've just finished your video and see bible study to add to that list....and also When Frogs Sing! We are classmates! Do you post in the forums there?
Hi Lindsay, I do not :( The Mad Hatter is from a Graphic 45 paper collection, Halloween in Wonderland. The paper featuring the quote from Hamlet is from an old Stampin' Up scrapbooking kit from my stash. You might try google images for available Alice and Hamlet clip art.
JohnaLee, thank you so much for your comments and for subscribing, I appreciate both! I've posted the SemiKolon tabs link above. I have not visited the Frogs Sing forum...yet :) Rhomany provides a lot of content in her courses, yes? Awesome.
Yes she really does! I've really enjoyed the class. Like you too though....I have a lot to catch up on. I've kept up on 'reading' the prompts every day. Does that count? Wink!
I really loved your inserts. I love how you tied up your bible insert, and I totally share your love of crinkly paper. Are you familiar with the journaling bible? There is a FB group about it, and you can see an example here: homegrownhospitality.typepad.com/homegrown_hospitality/2014/09/a-closer-look.html
I could listen to you talk for hours. Thank you for sharing and I learned so much watching.

Pencil works well, and I think it's easier to read than ink if you're interested in writing on both sides of the page.
I really enjoyed this video!
Lisa, thanks for your comment! Glad you enjoyed it.
Oh my gosh!!! Where did you get the insert that's onion paper?? I need that in my life! Great video!
Lots of ideas for me

This is wonderful. TFS
Thanks Nicolette, I'm passionate about this notebook format :)
Oh my gosh, do you have an easy shop? I would love to pay for a similar mad as a hatter insert for my Midori!
Could you give a link to those tabs from Amazon? That would be awesome! Thanks so much!

i think i still live in 18th century as everyone i know still writes vertically and horizontally if they write letter cards or anything.
Lol, and why not, right? Funny how the current "norm" changes.
