Hi team! 💜 Thanks for watching and I hope you like the setup 😄 Our giveaway is now closed, and a big congrats to our winners @shayneelizabeth @JFStuart04 and @BeauNDarrows 🥳 Stay tuned for future giveaway opportunities by making sure you're subscribed 👌
Thanks to you (I found your channel a week ago) I am now growing a list of supplies I want to acquire 😅 Brush pens, cool washi tapes, printable sticker paper....
I don't have a favorite book yet. But I want to join your reading community next year to get me out of this comfort zone and start reading more because this year i thought ill read more but didnt, but ive watched alot of movies and shows tho😅👌
Love how you actually print things out instead of everything by hand, sometimes there ain’t time to draw every single thing 😂😂❤ its a great mix and inspires me to not be so hard on myself to do things all by hand
I'm glad it's appreciated! For the longest time, I convinced myself that everything I shared on the channel had to be done by hand some people didn't need any specialty supplies or anything, but I've since come around on the idea that people will totally use stickers and tapes and such for convenient and quick decoration 👏💜
That PET tape was worth it - the detail! I've been motivating myself to watch 'leaving soon' titles on Netflix and rediscovered my fave romcom 'About Time'. Heart-warming, tears and best of all, Time Travel ♥
I took me six months before I even dared writing in my new journal, because it was the first time I bought a more expensive one. Last week I finally took the step to just write and now I can't stop anymore. The journal is even looking better now with all the writing and creative things in it. I love to put your videos on to get me in a creative mood!
This setup is so gorgeous! No wonder your initial filming was 10 hours. You really put in the WORK! Absolutely love the simplicity of the black and white theme, and the use of the PET tape is genius.
It is actually very helpful to see that not everything has to be as perfectly drawn and can be printed out, takes some stress off my perfectionist brain. I know there aren't any rules, but when you see perfectly drawn and planned out journals everywhere, it gets overwhelming to even start. But seeing that something simple can look very amazing if you use some tricks is very inspiring.
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme you missed the point. jess said in the video numerous times that yes, journals do not have to be aesthetically pleasing to be functional, but it's part of the fun of journaling for many. this commenter is pointing out that the journaling community tends to be oversaturated with perfectly beautiful journals, with tedious hand drawn details and calligraphy, so jess' approach was relieving, and i agree with that sentiment. to each their own of course, what some find joy in others do not, but this point is especially relatable for many in the hobby
@@itsgonnabeanaurfrommefor some people, the design is art. It’s fun and therapeutic do work on spreads you like looking at. Not everyone is focused on stringent practicality. We like it to be fun.
I wish I had the patience to do this. I adore watching people get creative with their journal designs. It's incredibly labour intensive and hugely impressive. Hats off to you. The designs you put together and the cohesion across all of the pages makes me a little jealous at the level of commitment and talent you've got.
Your journals always look so good, I wish I had the patience, and also less cats who always want to 'help' XD I get about 20 minutes until they realize I'm doing something and they have to come be involved, which means laying on whatever I'm doing, stealing my washi tape by the roll, batting my pens off my desk, and whatever else pops into their adorable little heads.
I love what you said about not reading a book a week, but having sections of time when your really into it! I so relate to that and so many people on social media seem like they just read a ton of books all the time
This was my first year using a reading journal (and the year I got back into reading) and I've been having so much fun planning out my 2025 reading journal. I'm also planning on starting a commonplace/life journal to record trips I take or shows I really enjoyed, etc. in a scrapbooky kind of way while also using it as a place to write down my thoughts if I feel like it. 2025 is going to be a big journaling year for me! ☺
Loving the bold black and white designs of these pages! I especially loved those time consuming arches. I like the idea of including the extra pages for things like shows and games, you generally don’t have enough of those to devote a whole separate journal to them. In the past, I’ve included a page to screen spread for movies/shows based on books that are scheduled to be released during the year.
Putting together my first Reading Journal and cannot emphasize enough how invaluable your set-up videos have been! Having the opportunity to review what works and what doesn't, how final layouts look on the page and getting ideas for what to include has made me really excited for 2025! Loving watching you create and inspire ❤
I've been a staunchly Romance Books only reader. I read 800+ books back in 2020 (not a typo, actual eight hundred plus). But recently after my partner made a comment about how narrowly I read I have come up with what I hope will be an amazing journey: 25 Genres in 2025. Far fewer books than my record high, but I know that some of the genres will take a long time. If anyone has any favorite Non-Romance niche genres, I am all ears since I have yet to start making my TBR list 😊
For some reason, besides fantasy (there's also fantasy romance btw, it might interest you), I found that I enjoy EMP-type books. Or any kind that deal with the end of life as we know it and the search/adaptation to the new world, specially when based in actual natural disasters that can happen. (EMP is about electromagnetic pulses btw)
I like watching older TV shows I used to watch as a kid. I recently watched Charmed, the cringe moments I missed as a kid just blows me away. I had to constantly call my mom to verify certain scenes and just gossip about the characters and the actor/actresses that were in it. ❤❤
I completely agree with you on CAWPILE. I think it's a great system, but I find that I know what I want to rate a book and actually change my CAWPILE answers so that it comes out to what I already decided I wanted to give as a rating. Awesome video. This book looks excellent.
LOL, I can actually say the alphabet backwards, my grandmother did too and sometimes we would each say a letter in turn, just because we could. It's a great childhood memory. 🥰🥰
I LOVE watching all of your videos, I get a lot of inspiration from your journals. I love that you do so much of the decorative features yourself. I have watched TONS of videos to decide how to do my own reading journal this year. This year will be my first. I feel so nervous about starting it I’m almost paralyzed. I just want it to look nice and I want the spreads to work for me. I’ve never done a reading journal before so I know it’s okay if I don’t like them all, but deciding what I want each spread to look like stresses me out. I love how all of your spreads look. Your creativity inspires me.
I love your creativity so much! The theme is gorgeous!😊Gives out the dark academia vibes. I'm definitely going to have a reading journal for 2025. Thank you so much for this video!❤
The black stickers on the black borders is GORGEOUS!! Setting up reading goals is always such a great way to get even more excited about reading. I usually slow down by the end of the year, but I’m really finding my favorite types of stories and can’t wait for more next year!
I love how you use your stickers and how you decorate your pages! I took notes while watching this because I always struggle with organizing my pages. Your videos are very helpful!
I like that you take your time with the journals. I keep a media journal so I can track books, movies , tv shows and plays. I love the black and white layouts.
I just love watching your videos, especially the ‘this is my creative outlet’ I use to feel bad for my journals taking forever or not looking ‘perfect’ and you’ve really helped me let go of those negative inner self talk 💖
I LOVE this layout, especially with the black PET tape! So pretty! I’m a big fan of black/gothic layouts, and this is definitely one of my top favorites. I’ve actually been thinking about starting my own reading journal for this coming year for a new book club with my friends, and this is really making me want to jump in!
I love the style of this notebook so far. You have given me so much inspiration for my journal spreads. I've merged my bullet journal, journal journal and media journal all into one notebook. I usually go through 2-3 journals a year, but this way I don't feel bad for not updating my reading journal or feeling pressured to make bullet journal spreads. I just make the setups that I need when I need them. This year it was a lot of goal tracking spreads, weekly spreads and long journal entries.
I love the Stickers ur using and the gothic and witchy theme it gives...and black being my fav color, it just fills me with so much happiness and warmth watching it
I stumbled upon this video and I am just so amazed at how dedicated you are to your reading journal set up, it’s beautiful. It’s inspiring me to want to pick up bullet journaling again, and to switch from a digital reading journal to a physical one. I REALLY love the way that you added the stickers over the shaded in areas! ❤❤❤
Normally I have to be doing something else at the same time while watching youtube but this actually made me just chill and sit for 45 minutes. Thank you, this was really relaxing and calm while also being interesting :)
You're layouts are always so inspiring! I only recently got back into journaling and watching your videos helps get me excited to try different types of layouts and materials!
I started a reading journal thanks to you and I have got to say I love it so much! When people ask me what they should read I can actually look back at what I read before so I can give an appropriate suggestion. Plus I can fondly remember what I thought of the books at the time. Helps me overcome my book hangover each time.
Every. Thing. About. This. Just screams yes to me. I'm obsessed with dark florals and thrive on contrast. I struggle so hard creative wise, so I hope you don't mind me using heavy inspiration 😅 I also am turning mine into a Reading/ K/J/C Drama/ Anime watched because they are blending together mentally. I need something to look back on and refresh. Thank you soooooo much for this video!!
I like the idea of a physical journal to keep track of everything because I don't enjoy just cataloging on good reads. I spend most of my crafting time crocheting but I want to get back to reading and I think this would help. Thanks for the inspiration and ideas!
Omggg I love these spreads! You're the one who got me interested in reading journaling. I absolutely LOVE reading. Since the end of August, I've read around 18 books, but I stopped for a bit because I ran out of books to read. I love the journals too! You're spreads and journals are always soooo prettyyyyy.
This is the most beautiful setup I've ever seen, for some reason the rope design around your ratings specifically gave me all the inspo I need to finally want to set up my journal :)
Im planning on starting my first journal for 2025 and have been watching your videos for inspiration. They're so nice and easy to follow and I love that you mix in printout, seeing others hand draw and write EVERYTHING just makes it seem so daunting
This Reading Journal is absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing so many beautiful ideas with this community. I always find great ideas on your channel!
This is my first time watching your videos and I LOVE how you take the time to set up your reading journal. It has definitely inspired me to start one of my own. I have always loved reading, but recently found that I want to add the reading journal as a part of the enjoyment of the hobby.

Love the cover of this journal! I want one just like it TT
The gothic font, washi tapes, and hand drawn designs accentuated the aesthetic 🖤
Gorgeous set up! I have the same PET tape and now some inspiration 😊
I don't have a favorite book yet. But I want to join your reading community next year to get me out of this comfort zone and start reading more because this year i thought ill read more but didnt, but ive watched alot of movies and shows tho😅👌
I call mine my Entertainment Journal because my husband and I see a couple of plays each year and I wanted to include live theater among my reviews.
Oh nice, good name for it! 💪💜
This is great! I was trying to figure something out, and we also go see plays at least once a year, so this is perfect!
I would like to start a reading journal, I read so much that it would be nice to look back and see all off it
Aw I love that
Oh brilliant! I forget to do that ❤❤

You free-handing those stars has me starstruck 😮
Me too!!!!

Right!? I think it'll just help make the pages with the covers look less "busy" 👌
Ooooo the black PET tape over the black blocking is STUNNING 🤩
