  • New Jeans recently held an Emergency Live and talked about how hard it was for them along with wanting Ador back to normal within two weeks.
Here's what I think as someone who's living in Korea as a Korean American.
Let me know what you think of this case

The demand to restore ADOR by the 25th implies that the girls are prepared to consider filing a lawsuit to terminate their contract. Since it's highly unlikely that HYBE will comply with NewJeans' demands, I believe the lawsuit will likely proceed after the 25th.

@@chpark78 The thought that Hybe’s lawyers would have left a loophole is unrealistic (in my opinion). This is going to really test the loyalty of Bunnies, because this won’t end with an explosion…it’s going to fizzle away like Fifty Fifty.
And to be clear, I was just adding onto your statement. I agree with your prediction.

I am not sure if u guys were around during JYJ departure from SM. They won law suits, their fans also sued SM on their behalf and won. However, that did not stop SM from preventing them from going on all Kpop music shows. They were fortunate that they found fame in different areas, movies/drama (Park Yoochun) which he did not treasure and threw away his fame later, Japan & China fan base for Kim Jaejoong & musical for Kim Junsu. Music shows banned them for fear that the SM will stop sending all the other groups to their shows.

@@zeronyne I'm not really sure how things look from outside Korea, but as someone living in Korea, I have a pretty good sense of what's going on. Just a heads up, I might be a bit biased because I'm Bunnies.
I actually expect this legal battle to progress more quickly than many people are worried about. Recently, MHJ filed a new injunction with the court regarding the appointment of a corporate director and CEO, and the result of this injunction is expected to be announced before November, which is when MHJ’s contract as a corporate director ends. Plus, Korean legal experts think NewJeans’ recent live broadcast was a smart legal move, and it could really help MHJ in her fight with HYBE. So if MHJ wins the injunction case, both MHJ and NewJeans will gain a very advantageous position once again, and fans are likely to remain loyal. But if she loses, NewJeans could initiate a lawsuit to terminate their contract and file for an injunction. In that case, as public opinion in Korea is on NewJeans' side unlike the Fifty Fifty case, I expect the proceedings to be in their favor.
So, I believe the current situation is quite favorable for NewJeans and MHJ.

@@crystal2484 I think this situation is a little different from the JYJ vs. SM fight. This time, it’s about a legendary producer like MHJ, who has a lot of connections and deep influence in the industry. In JYJ’s case, even though they won in court, SM still managed to block them from promoting properly in Korea. Given MHJ’s connections and influence, I don’t think that would happen, but even if it did, I’m pretty sure she’d handle it much more professionally. I know some people are against MHJ, but from what I’ve observed, her influence is still highly regarded by experts.

They keep wanting things to go back the way before, which is impossible. They’re essentially like kids of divorcing parents. HYBE has full custody. They can try to sue their way out if they can prove mistreatment. Otherwise the only way they reunite with MHJ is if they fork over $277 million USD penalty to get out of their contracts

    • @crystal2484

Getting out of the contracts is useless, they will still be banned on all music shows because Hybe is too huge. Also, keeping quiet is useless too, they will be frozen anyway. At this point, they have nothing to lose.

idk if you know it but the reason why nj members gave them until 25th is because according to korean law artist can request for a corrections from their agency. If the agency does not respond or provides an unsatisfactory response within two weeks, further legal action can be taken..

Even if the richest man in South Korea were to help new jeans, his entire net worth wouldn't even make a dent on that ₩600 billion (maybe more) contract. They would need UNITED STATES Government level of spending money for that.
Also the mistreatment angle isn't gonna help new jeans, it will burry them even further. Any Judge in the world would take one good look at new jeans' spending habits and the way HYBE still promotes their music and they'll rule in favor of HYBE.
    However this ends, everybody loses.

Really? Then why MHJ filled application for her CEO post right after this topic got so much worldwide attention? I can't believe you people think it's about NJ..while NJ is fighting for ADOR and MHJ. MHJ didn't filled application for NJ better treatment but instead she filled for her own position. And she isn't even fired from ADOR..she has just been moved to other post but they are making it sound like she got fired..which they should have done.

    • @parrhesia-h8d
      @parrhesia-h8d 7 днів тому

@@lowendplayer4259 First of all, please understand my poor English skills. I will answer to the extent that I understand the comments you wrote.
Currently, MHJ has been dismissed by ADOR's board of directors' decision. And, ADOR's board members claim that the dismissal was legitimate. However, the case is related to Korea's complicated legal issues. Currently, MHJ has applied to the court for "disposal for re-appointment of ADOR's inside directors." (Because ADOR's dismissal of MHJ CEO is a violation of shareholder contracts and is contrary to the court's decision to ban the exercise of voting rights months ago.)
A few months ago, the court ruled that the CEO and in-house positions of MHJ's ADOR should guarantee MHJ's original prescribed five-year rights. However, this time HYBE's management unilaterally dismissed MHJ when MHJ's directorship remained.
HYBE, ADOR's parent company, argues that MHJ's dismissal was a decision by ADOR's new board of directors unrelated to HYBE's intentions. However, this does not make sense.
ADOR's new board members were appointed by HYBE's 100% management. Currently, ADOR's new board members are acting in line with HYBE's management policy, and they even offered a two-month extension before dismissing MHJ. ADOR said one of the reasons MHJ was dismissed was that MHJ "did not accept the unfair contract."
Currently, HYBE's management insists that ADOR's decision to dismiss MHJ is irrelevant to HYBE's decision, but many legal experts and business professors in Korea believe it does not make sense.
MHJ was the CEO and executive director of ADOR. However, due to the decision of ADOR's new board members, MHJ is currently dismissed as CEO and executive director of ADOR. In response, MHJ is only taking legal action as she can.
This series of situations is a "legal dispute" that is difficult for ordinary people to understand, like us. It will probably take a long time to see who did it legally wrong in the end. However, given the circumstances that have happened so far, it is HYBE who is acting senselessly and not at the court's judgment of the recent past.
As I wrote in the comments yesterday, the most important thing is that 'NJ members' are victims. And 'NJ members' explained the relationship between NJ and MHJ through an emergency live broadcast and explained HYBE's unfair behavior.
However, those who already see MHJ as a bad person concluded that MHJ is manipulating NJ members. Many of these people have "confirmative bias" and don't care about what NJ members say.
In Korean society, large corporations can control the media based on huge amounts of capital. Big corporations are good at making hateful opponents bad images through their press stories. And, they can continue unnecessary legal disputes based on huge amounts of capital. In Korean society, people who own huge amounts of capital cause legal issues for many years as a way to harass the weak. It makes the public tired.
MHJ, which is weaker than HYBE, has a hard time responding to HYBE. Based on the evidence that has already been revealed, it can be seen that Bang Si Hyuk (HYBE CEO) disliked MHJ, which did not comply with his will. The average person can, of course, regard MHJ, which does not comply with Bang's will, as a bad person.
However, when Bang Si Hyuk first hired MHJ, he decided to recognize MHJ as CEO of ADOR and to recognize MHJ's independent policy as much as possible. HYBE operates a multi-label system. This system is completely different from SM, YG, and JYP. To sum up, the parent company is HYBE, but it recognized ADOR's independence (when MHJ was CEO). The group that was created in the process was NJ.
However, the direction of "Girl Group" and "NJ" that HYBE's Bang Si-hyuk wanted to make were different, and at some point, the conflict began between Bang Si-hyuk and MHJ (Bang Si-hyuk was involved in a girl group created by another label company under HYBE)
This issue is very complicated for the general public to know exactly. However, there have been many suspicious actions that have been revealed so far and HYBE's actions. There was also an incident in which private medical records and pre-debut practice videos of NJ members were leaked without permission to damage NJ's image.

This is literally career suicide. Even if these allegations are founded, to put it into a live broadcast like this to air out things has many legal ramifications and can be seen as slanderous. Even if these girls are under another label or have Ador / MHJ be independent of Hybe, this puts a huge tarnish to their career. That being said, I'm not promoting that mistreatment is justified, but it's hard to not think that MHJ was behind the idea of this broadcast and feels manipulative to have the girls be shielding her. I think NewJeans is amazing and hope they have ongoing success, but this wasn't the way to do it to try to force Hybe's hand like this.

Hybe would have been happy to let things be artistically be produced and run by Ardor but could never let Min Hee Jin stab them in the back by secretly and illegally try to take over the entire business and remove themselves from HYBE. HYBE had to bear all the financial costs of starting up, hiring, training, supporting the cost of running the day-to-day business of Ardor. These girls are spoiled rotten and should research how much pain and suffering other K-POP groups had to go through for years before even receiving back anything (if ever). They have been groomed well by their parents and their precious Min Hee Jin. They only need to look to BTS instead of Min Hee Jin should they need shinning examples.

People are reacting as MHJ wanted them to for sure and fans are just a pawn for her like NJ ..BTW Min Hee-jin filled an application for Injunction for Reappointment as CEO of Adore. She didn't filed anything for the girls mistreatment..No no no she filed application for her own position ..these girls are just her pawns groomed from early age. Do you guys really think these girls moves a finger without her consent? And to make a YT video nonetheless? It's just MHJ move to get her CEO post and nothing more and blind fans are just got played by her too.
The whole main point of the video is to bring back MHJ to CEO post and NJ mistreatment are just the side spices to make the people feel bad for them and gain support. But guess what?? The girls didn't lose their JOB and MHJ was just pushed to CREATIVE DIRECTOR not even fired from ADOR but thee girls are acting like MHJ was fired.
Does these girls even know how bad of a person they are trying to protect? Sure HYBE isn't any better but MHJ isn't too. These girls are so manipulated by MHJ that they think they are nothing without her, which is sad.

I once commented on their UA-cam on their debut song.
If your group BOOMING massively at the beginning of your debut then you will also suddenly slump and your life will not be long.
And from the beginning I also said that they are just a group with ordinary music skills, so far they have boomed only because of good songwriters and using payola so that their songs are always on top of music apps. They are popular not because of consumers' desire to search for them, but because consumers are forced to click on a song that is always at the top of the music list and everyone thinks it is a hot song. and most of their songs use autotune in some parts.

  • @Digitalversager

It was brave of the girls, but this live stream was not a good idea.
They should think much less about MHJ and much more about what is good for their own future.
It seems to me that they did not even give the new situation a proper chance.
In business, you do not always get what you want and you always have to deal with new challenges and new situations.
Above all, you should avoid issuing an ultimatum whenever possible. This only worsened their position.
I also do not believe that the allegations they have made are enough to suspend a contract.
If they try to sue their way out of their contract, I hope they have good evidence.
This video can also make it difficult for the girls to find a new company to take them on later.
As a CEO, after watching this video, I would think that it is better not to work with them. Because what if they do not get what they want? They will then do a live stream about me and how inhumane my company is.
I understand that the situation is bad for the girls and that they feel uncomfortable. But that's life, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Understanding that is part of growing up.
