Thanks for your respects to the elders in our families.Actually even now people are known by their ancestors like he is some big mans son, grandson etc. During these days of calamities we should spare some hours to perform as told by Sadguruji and we may or may not get the results but we feel that we have done some good.God bless us and we should continue this tradition. In my view , This is not true true .
Our pitra never creates struggles for us.
This is what I was told at my home , Some pitra are stuck between Mrityulok and Vaikunth Lok due to their wrong doing and they just expect us to do Shradh, pind daan which can help them to reach Vaikunth lok.
Also as Pitra comes to Mrityulok during pitru paksha we seek their blessings during Shradh period.
But I don't think the concept f distancing urself from Pitra is true.
We are ansh of our ancestors and Pitra will never do anything to create struggles in our life just my understanding

sweet seeker, their are three different types of bodies from an ancestor that can influence the living. We are not just bodies with souls. There exists 6 layers of energy bodies in each individual. The mental and causal bodies are most common to do what the Guru describes. Imagine right now, how often you’ve used the language you were taught by your parents, said things the -way -they did, used concepts and thoughts and saying the way they did. That itself, is your ancestors living through you. That’s the mental body. The causal would be closer to your ancestors or parents motivations and aspirations which were unlived or unrealized. and they can prompt you from beyond the grave this way. A sense of indebtedness to them will usually be sufficient for this alone. However, there are more indirect and subtle ways this interference can play out. Also, in their bliss bodies they can help and bless us, and this is positive, yet strictly speaking, still a form of them moving into your life and affecting it, unnaturally. Yes, the non physical bodies reincarnate, ( mostly) yet they are not subject to time as we are, and can go immense distances as well. When in thier disembodied states they can look forward or backward in time and make effects, if the will to do so is deep and strong enough. This is why silence is so precious.
