- A few tips and tricks for beginners to improve on your ink and watercolor sketches or urban sketching! I used to think it was hard to paint with watercolor especially if it involves a scene with many different elements, but after some practice and learning from other artists, I now find it fun and much less stressful than before.
Note that this is not a step-by-step tutorial, so I hope these tips will help you break down the process and paint better with watercolor.

I hope you'll never stop painting. I really really really love your art style, it's just so perfect and free which is easier to draw and gives a prestigious look. Nice subject and well done - very pleasing painting. Liked your tip about having several brushes on the go for different colours. Do you talk about your favourite brushes in a video (I will have a look) -- if not, I would be interested to hear your opinions on brushes. Some are ridiculously expensive and I'm sure there are lots of less expensive ones that do a good job.

I love your style! How did you do the white letters on the road sign? I saw once, that one can use white oil/wax pencil to protect areas one want to keep blanc. Do you use the same technic, or are you so good at reverse lettering? The letters look so awesome!
I did reverse lettering, so I just painted around the letters, you can see it’s crooked and a little blurry. Sometimes it works the first time, other times I have to lift the paint and repaint it to get it more accurate🤣❤️
Love your tutorials. I was wondering, could you throw in some where you show you drawing? I love urban sketching and tips would be great too. I have a tendency to draw too big, any tips? Thank you
Ok! Will work on slightly easier subjects so that the drawing and painting doesn’t take so long and then, I can make a video of reasonable length.
Something to keep in mind is to always visualise and block in the main subjects first so that they all fit on the page. You can always sketch lightly with pencil first and adjust as you go.
Another thing that might be helpful is doing quick thumbnail sketches to get a good grasp of the structures and overall composition of the piece. Hope that helps!🤗

I'm not sure but I think she uses a cotman winsor and newton palette. Idk if she still uses it though.
Hey there! For this one I mainly used Holbein Artists’ watercolors, and only Sap Green was a Van Gogh watercolor
