In case it hasn't been mentioned yet: the reason some counties cause a flat amount of attrition when you move through them is because you're having to pass through a county that isn't occupied to get there. It's to represent you don't have a safe supply line. It's meant to prevent you and the AI form rushing towards the enemy's capital without occupying a pathway there, first. You can deal with it by detouring through friendly territory, or by going via the sea instead of the direct path. EDIT: Aaand there's egg on my face for commenting before the video ends! Jon says exactly that some time later.
It gets confusing however since it pops up during raiding, a lot. Even if I raid every bit of a county I still take attrition moving into the next county.
Jon, alliances are only automatically made between the two people organizing the marriages. If you have a relative that's married and you didn't marry them off, there's a character interaction to negotiate an alliance. You can easily get your alliance with Lappland back very easily.
To a degree, maybe a significant one, sure. But Sweden is weak more because they're fighting three wars thanks to taking de jure Scottish islands with no control or contribution, because the AI tells Norse to conquer every possible coastal territory that it can, which is does at the cost of its home territory and vassals, because the AI is hopeless. Jon splitting the ruling base of power was probably the best thing to do, seeing as how Sweden would've been pounded into nothing regardless over those moronic Isles land grabs. At least Jon has the realm needed to go independent if worst case happens.
Its truly baffling. I understand he needs a Duchy to maintain control of lands hes taken. But with Sweden and Lappland natural allies, why didn't he just attack Norway with their support and claim a Duchy from them?

Hey Jon, great episode. You can take the perk in the Stewardship tree that allows you to create a claim against your liege. It’s literally the first one on the right-most tree and you almost have a point to spend! :) Has worked for me great in the past!!!
Possibly, you could betray Sweden, and swear fealty to Norway. They now have pagan territory, which is something you can cultivate until Norway is bursting at the seams with paganism. Remember, the commoners seem to love paganism, even if the aristocracy don't......

The issues tab (the numbered thing at the top) is your friend! You can more easily call allies to wars, find out which powerful vassals want a seat, which wars you can wage, low control, etc.
Being in debt only gives you a disadvantage in battles (a massive one at that), so if you think you're going to go into debt during a war you should seek battles as soon as possible while you're still in the black and don't have the penalties.
Hey Jon, you can check the full line of succession for any title including who comes after your primary heir by hovering over that title in your character screen.
In my game Sweden is constantly 1800 in debt, behind in every war and getting smashed in every fight they get into but because I am a god tier spy master for my liege and my personal spymaster is even better than I am I have been able to win every war for my liege. Kidnapping is insanely overpowered, as long as I can ensure a war lasts 11 months we are guaranteed to win. Kidnap, win, execute or convert over and over again.
you can use your men at arms to their full size. You've been creating new ones of the same kind when you could've increased the number by clicking on the desired men at arms and recruiting more of it.

Jon, in order to guests to stay without recruiting them you can land them in baronies or cities. You can also revoke cities and baraonies without penalty
Jon, you didn't need the duchy title to keep all your titles under one heir. You can just disinherit your other children so that all of your titles pass to the child you want to have them. And if your primary heir dies, you can just restore the inheritence of your next best child and they will recieve all of your titles. Edit: Nevermind, I see you figured it out at the end of the episode. Also you were told about the the war to claim Finland, but you were already at war, and you always panic and dismiss alerts without reading or comprehending them when you are at war.
Disinheriting is such an expensive way of dealing with succession issues because of the stacking cost. It's not a good idea except in a real emergency. Especially when there was an easy and obvious play to deal with the issue - conquer the one-county duchy island of Visby. Could easily have been a duke in episode 2 (maybe 3 if he had to save up some money)
Moving past an unoccupied county into another hostile one causes attrition(the red skull). I think attrition is like 100 or a certain low percentage of men dying, whatever is higher
Jon go to the Realm tab (default F2) and click succession. Down the bottom you can open another drop box to show your succession order. Also look into swapping to Scandinavian Elective, it should be available to you. Also I don't believe I've seen you upgrade your Crown Authority.
FYI: One thing I found out that's different then CK2 is you don't always need to return to your territory before you disband your troops. Coulda saved a bit of gold at the end by breaking down immediately after that war.

In the whole series, I don't think he's converted the religion of any county he has.

Jon, in order to guests to stay without recruiting them you can land them in baronies or cities. You can also revoke cities and baraonies without penalty
This is like listening to Heilung or Wardruna.

Jon, you didn't need the duchy title to keep all your titles under one heir. You can just disinherit your other children so that all of your titles pass to the child you want to have them. And if your primary heir dies, you can just restore the inheritence of your next best child and they will recieve all of your titles.
Edit: Nevermind, I see you figured it out at the end of the episode. Also you were told about the the war to claim Finland, but you were already at war, and you always panic and dismiss alerts without reading or comprehending them when you are at war.
Jon just panics at anything...i love his content but he acts like even basic things he doesn't know...like come on.
Disinheriting is such an expensive way of dealing with succession issues because of the stacking cost. It's not a good idea except in a real emergency. Especially when there was an easy and obvious play to deal with the issue - conquer the one-county duchy island of Visby. Could easily have been a duke in episode 2 (maybe 3 if he had to save up some money)

Moving past an unoccupied county into another hostile one causes attrition(the red skull). I think attrition is like 100 or a certain low percentage of men dying, whatever is higher

Jon go to the Realm tab (default F2) and click succession. Down the bottom you can open another drop box to show your succession order. Also look into swapping to Scandinavian Elective, it should be available to you. Also I don't believe I've seen you upgrade your Crown Authority.
FYI: One thing I found out that's different then CK2 is you don't always need to return to your territory before you disband your troops. Coulda saved a bit of gold at the end by breaking down immediately after that war.
