If that's has a 1:1 ratio, it should be able to focus closer than that. May tokina is like 6 inches from the sensor. So in other words 3 inches from the end of the lens.

Thanks for your comment! Honestly, you may be right, and I may experiment some more and see how close I can actually get to the ring. I use this lens the most on wedding days, and normally I don't have time to measure how far I am away from the ring, haha! But you're probably right! Thanks for your insight!
