Or do you also need to cancel the dodge counter animation with a dodge and then activate the resonance skill?
You mentioned that his ult autos are considered Resonance liberation damage, but that is wrong (according to the tooltip at least) - they are considered as basic attack damage.
Yep, if you want a faster paced option go for the Tempest Mephis, or if you need a REALLY fast paced one pick either the Electro Predator or the Flautist (Flautist has some nice quickswap tech with it, pretty fun to play around with!)

It's ideal to go for a 1:2 ratio, but generally speaking for most content so far in the game, as long as you just stack crit rate youll be fine. Calcharo also has crit damage in his fortes, so getting crit rate from other sources is more important than crit damage!
A question about the BP weapon Autumntrace, it says in passive that the atk increase is triggered by basic atk (or heavy atk) DMG, does it still work during Calcharo ultimate, because his basics are now ult dmg?

You are just wrong, Verdant summit is better then Lustrous Razor. His best main echo is not Thundering Mephis but Tempest Mephis due to the time you need to get the buff. Also i think it s worth explaining that even though after you use resonance liberations you start to use different attacks with different multipliers they are still considered as basic attack.
What is your opinion on animation cancel during ult combo? most people say calcharo need animation cancel ult for maximum dmg but nobody i see seems to teach how to do it
I think people are misguided for now on how "dps" or "max damage" works in this game. It's not like Genshin with almost completely passive enemies or unkillable Zhongli shield team comps where you can just ignore boss mechanics (at least for now, maybe later it will turn into that). So far from what I experienced, you only get 1 "true" dps window per boss fight, and maybe 3-4 smaller ones, other than that almost all your actual damage is going to be coming from many small instances of dodge counters and resonance skill/basic attack in higher difficulty content. To give a good analogy, thinking about trying to maximize your damage output by learning tech like that is like trying to make your cake taste better by putting 1 single piece of strawberry on it - sure, it can help, but thats not where the taste is coming from for the entire cake :D
im waiting for days for a guide but so far from my experience, its by far the most fun and possibly best play style to swap into other characters almost every time he goes for that plunge attack, you get so many outro and intro skills in between your combos that buff your team (you can do it 3 times during his ult alone), i simply cant believe this is not a more optimal way to play him. but again im sure there will be guides out soon. and IF this solo playstyle turns out to be more optimal im dropping this character since i find that boring anyway haha
@@UnusGrunus I think swap cancelling it will be optimal, but for now since the game is new solo is better ONLY because you probably don't have resources to fully build 2 teams yet, so most people should focus on 2 main DPS-es so you can clear tower of adversity and cover elemental resistances vs hologram bosses.
Does the benefits from Thundering Memphis only happen after all of its echo attacks or can you cancel mid-attack (e.g. 1 echo hit then dash cancel) and still get the bonuses?
Sadly you need the last attack to hit before you get the bonuses. I thought you don't initially but after testing it I had to actually change the script for the video too :D
This is the exact reason Thundering Memphis has been falling out of favor, especially among the Chinese. They realized first that even though this buff is incredible, actually trying to make it happen in practice is not reliable at all. It's common for that last attack to miss, unless you use it at a perfect opportunity. So, a shorter sequence echo like Tempest Mephis instead, tends to be far more practical/reliable and end up much better even though it's buffs are not as strong.
Nope, I think there was a misunderstanding with what I meant in the video - I meant that leveling his resonance liberation forte will boost the damage that your enhanced basic attack does. Leveling his basic attack will NOT boost that, but the people letting me know in the comments that his enhanced basic attacks count as basic attacks when it comes to checking for damage bonuses are correct! So basically basic attack damage bonus (such as Sanhua outro skill) will boost your enhanced basic attacks, but leveling up your basic attack forte will NOT do that.
@@dr_misc thanks for the reply I also think the same. But I am quite confused as it's mentioned on the kit that it treated as BA damage . It maybe a tl error .... But like depending on the scaling my support option gotta change .
43311 is generally going to be better because 60% damage bonus applies even when you don't crit, 44111 is more of a specialist build if you want to push close to 100% crit rate
@@dr_misc thx man and yea i saw that in another video can you make it more clear cut next time what is THE optimal one? only min maxers watch guides like these i think but thats just my opinion i have no idea how to do youtube haha
In practice, yes, as far as spreadsheet maths goes, possibly not. It's better in practice because you get energy regen AND resonance liberation damage bonus off of it - and Calcharo's damage mostly comes from Resonance Liberation damage. Both getting access to your burst damage window faster, and getting a 14% bump to it is way better than whatever crit damage you get from Jiyan's weapon (keep in mind you get ATK% from the standard 5* weapon which while not as valuable overall as Crit DMG, is still closer than Crit DMG and ATK% weapons in Genshin for example)
@@dr_miscBut Jiyan’s weapon gives you straight up 12% dmg up and 48% heavy atk dmg up on top of higher base atk and CD. I think you’re putting too much stock into the 12.8% ER which isn’t much on its own and has to be bolstered by substats to really make much of a difference right?
Sadly its a non-boosted gacha roll. I just got lucky with it. Thankfully, it's not really better than any of the weapons I mentioned in the video (except maybe the 3 star ones) so you're not missing out on much :D
It's a summon echo instead of a transform one, I'm starting to love summon echoes more and more as well, it doesn't cut into your character's on field capabilities as much as transform echoes and in high difficulty fights they are much more consistently usable to give you their buffs!
Because you can get a lot of crit damage on rolls and do about the same amount of damage, calcharro doesn't proc jinyans sword ability as consistently. So really it's just a bit more damage at a higher cost. standard weapon benefits him best on everything including the ability, giving you more ults, that's why i said standard weapon does just as much. Not the same numbers but the same amount of dps, calcharoo goes ham in his ult, so if you get more ults than someone who has jinyans weapon? do the math
I have both of them but I enjoy Calcharo more for now. Funnily enough my favorite character gameplay wise for now is Spectro Rover :D I think as far as actual power level goes, Jiyan will be stronger with equal amounts of investment, and against non Aero resistant enemies. It's generally how it goes in gacha games, limited DPS tend to be the premium and standard DPS fall off faster from meta :D
BiS isn’t a lustrous blade what are you talking about? The BiS is autumn trace not the 5 star. Pls do not make ppl roll with the misinformation. Crit rate is crucial to calcharo not purely attack which the 5 star lus blade has.
You're ignoring the passive and focusing entirely on the crit rate aspect of it. Crit rate is pretty easy to get a reasonable amount of, but resonance liberation bonus damage and energy regen are both cruicial for calcharo's damage, and are much harder to get (plus you're not really looking for those as substats compared to crit substats / mainstat) Not to mention Autumntrace isn't free to play since it's locked behind battlepass, while you don't even need to technically roll to get the Lustrous Razor down the line. edit: AND the 5 star weapons have a much higher base ATK stat which further pushes the actual damage numbers in favor of Lustrous Razor when compared to Autumntrace
This is not true. Look at the scaling chart for Calcharo BIS. When it is compared versus Lustrous Blade R1, autumntrace only can output around 91.7%. The only way that autumntrace becomes better (115.4% of the R1 lustrous), is an R5 Autumntrace (which is locked behind potentially 2 more 20$ BP). BIS atm for Calcharo is clearly Jiyan signature, but some may opt for Lustrous blade too since Calcharo can easily modify the crit with the 44111 build.
@@dr_misc Not quite true. Atk is far more common then crit rate hence why ppl value crit rate on echo so much. And cal forte has crit dmg thus giving crit rate higher priority. That itself scale more over its passive. But yeah it’s behind a paywall but just saying that’s the BiS. The 5 star broadsword ain’t worth to get. You are better off taking the sword from the selector which once again give crit rate and that’s the best weapon from the selector box. And imagine having 100% crit.. that’s gonna be insane and I think it’s hard to kinda cap it just based on on echo alone provided u get many lines of crit rate.. and the passive of autumn blade seem really good too… because u gotta remb the best weapon in that 5 star selector is the sword not the broadsword. So in this case banner wep and autumn trace are a better pick if you can save use the selector for the crit rate sword. I guess?😅

im waiting for days for a guide but so far from my experience, its by far the most fun and possibly best play style to swap into other characters almost every time he goes for that plunge attack, you get so many outro and intro skills in between your combos that buff your team (you can do it 3 times during his ult alone), i simply cant believe this is not a more optimal way to play him. but again im sure there will be guides out soon. and IF this solo playstyle turns out to be more optimal im dropping this character since i find that boring anyway haha
@@ShinShakti yeah for hologram bosses ive been using the electro shooter guy lately, summon echoes or fast transform echoes feel way better
i got him a craftable 4 star weapon
i think its decent on him
In the game it says that in ult form basic attacks are considered as basic attacks and not ult dmg. Is this an error
So basically basic attack damage bonus (such as Sanhua outro skill) will boost your enhanced basic attacks, but leveling up your basic attack forte will NOT do that.
does calcharo ultimate enhanced attack scales off?
In kit it says basic attack DMG but the modifiers r under his liberation
Based on my testing it's Resonance Liberation, and NOT Basic Attack
@@dr_misc thanks for the reply I also think the same. But I am quite confused as it's mentioned on the kit that it treated as BA damage . It maybe a tl error .... But like depending on the scaling my support option gotta change .
so is it 4 3 3 1 1 or 4 4 1 1 1 ? which is better ill have to find another video with echo xp being so scarce i dont wann do the math myself -.-
43311 is generally going to be better because 60% damage bonus applies even when you don't crit, 44111 is more of a specialist build if you want to push close to 100% crit rate
@@dr_misc thx man and yea i saw that in another video can you make it more clear cut next time what is THE optimal one? only min maxers watch guides like these i think but thats just my opinion i have no idea how to do youtube haha
so for the stats on the echo the best one are ATK and crit rate?
Atk, crit rate, and electro damage bonus!
are you truly sure that jiyan weapon is less effective on calcharo than the standard 5 star weapon Lustrous razor ?
Which skill is Resonance Libereation?
its his ultimate! (when you transform and have enhanced basic attacks)
@@dr_misc I thought forte was his ultimate
How can i get that sword for Calcharo
Sadly its a non-boosted gacha roll. I just got lucky with it. Thankfully, it's not really better than any of the weapons I mentioned in the video (except maybe the 3 star ones) so you're not missing out on much :D
Why do some recommend the flute echo?
It's a summon echo instead of a transform one, I'm starting to love summon echoes more and more as well, it doesn't cut into your character's on field capabilities as much as transform echoes and in high difficulty fights they are much more consistently usable to give you their buffs!
Will he be good with the new girl (Vera)? I think Im gonna save for her
I'ma be real brother I have no clue what her skillset is so can't really answer that sorry :D
@@dr_misc I see I thought you played the beta
can you use Jianxin + Verina for him?
YESS!! start with jianxin, get your shield and swap to verina, use ultimate and finish with calcharo
@@silentsailent just tested it and holy hell that damage is insane xD
Tempest Mephis is better, it uses way less time than the thundering mephis. Only requires 2 attacks while being the same set
what the hell do you mean by not strictly free to play? it your buy the battlepass, thats not free to play.
Yeah, if you are not free to play, you can buy the battlepass, we are saying the same thing? :D
So how will u heal if u stay low hp ?
Just don't get hit brother ezy :DDD
I've seen that jiyans weapon does more damage on calcharo than the standard weapon, so what makes you say otherwise?
Because you can get a lot of crit damage on rolls and do about the same amount of damage, calcharro doesn't proc jinyans sword ability as consistently. So really it's just a bit more damage at a higher cost. standard weapon benefits him best on everything including the ability, giving you more ults, that's why i said standard weapon does just as much. Not the same numbers but the same amount of dps, calcharoo goes ham in his ult, so if you get more ults than someone who has jinyans weapon? do the math
Calcharo or jixan?
I have both of them but I enjoy Calcharo more for now. Funnily enough my favorite character gameplay wise for now is Spectro Rover :D
I think as far as actual power level goes, Jiyan will be stronger with equal amounts of investment, and against non Aero resistant enemies.
It's generally how it goes in gacha games, limited DPS tend to be the premium and standard DPS fall off faster from meta :D
what
BiS isn’t a lustrous blade what are you talking about? The BiS is autumn trace not the 5 star. Pls do not make ppl roll with the misinformation. Crit rate is crucial to calcharo not purely attack which the 5 star lus blade has.
isn’t autumn trace battle pass tho? not everyone is spending money on that
You're ignoring the passive and focusing entirely on the crit rate aspect of it. Crit rate is pretty easy to get a reasonable amount of, but resonance liberation bonus damage and energy regen are both cruicial for calcharo's damage, and are much harder to get (plus you're not really looking for those as substats compared to crit substats / mainstat)
Not to mention Autumntrace isn't free to play since it's locked behind battlepass, while you don't even need to technically roll to get the Lustrous Razor down the line.
edit: AND the 5 star weapons have a much higher base ATK stat which further pushes the actual damage numbers in favor of Lustrous Razor when compared to Autumntrace
@@saruwasser we are talking about BiS right now not about being f2p or not tho?
I guess?😅
He is too weak 😢. I feel so sad
Don't believe the haters, he is OP brother! :D
