As someone who lives in Russia for many years already I ve started to treat the Russian climate from philosophical pov. I genuinely think that Russia has one of the best in the world: food, infrastructure, cost of living, safety, social services and most importantly great people. But no place is perfect and there should be downsides as well, the most serious of which is climate (however I also do think that Russian summer season has an ideal weather but winter is way too long and chilly). So it's kind of a trade off :)

At least in my wife's hometown and in Moscow they have 4 seasons in the year. Where I am living in Australia we have two seasons, cool summer and hot humid summer. I am moving to Moscow next year.
To be honest, buddy, as a resident of Russia, I do not like the climate of Moscow, summer is not particularly hot, June is usually very rainy, and winter is worse than in Siberia, wet , chilly frost unlike dry in Siberia, autumn is very windy in Tver,St. Petersburg is even worse , the climate is quite damp, I like the climate more We are in the South of Russia , I live in the Rostov region , we have a long hot summer , winter with little snow , except February, it is windy . A warm spring and a very comfortable autumn.

Hello from Scotland ❤ Yes, you’re correct being in the depth’s of winter it can be very depressing for many, and it’s the same for Scotland because the temperatures usually sit around 5 centigrade with lots & lots of rain with strong winds blowing everywhere. However, several decades ago we used to get a few months of snow every year, but now it mostly rains instead with almost no chance of making a snowman or go sledding in the lowland areas when I was a kid. The coldest I have experienced is -15 centigrade at higher altitude with extremely long icicles hanging from buildings, but at sea level there was no such temperatures no such low temperatures. If I remember seeing a documentary that Drs prescribe or recommend the use of a sun lamp to help cheer up their patients during long months without sunshine.a Let see more if tour cooking skills, if any, and what you find is good to eat or recommended out your way!

ohh that is brutal walking all that way in the snowy morning. I'm a bus driver and I wake up a 3:50 am to be at work for 5:00am to go start my bus and warm up for the days customers haha 😆. I drive to work though couldn't imagine walking all that way on a snowy day though.

I don’t know how much snowfall is normal for Moscow .... I live in Central Wisconsin , USA and the weather is warmer now and there is much less snow the last few years . Possibly , the snow went to Russia . I can work very hard in snow removal with shovels , snowblowers , and plow trucks , it can be difficult but I think it is sometimes fun. I would love it if it would snow like that where I am living . Very beautiful I do wish I could be over there then I could work really hard !!

Britain is quite unique Winter seems to last a lifetime.. then all of a sudden Summer appears (more or less out of nowhere.. like magic.. or when it feels like it.. which isnt a lot.. as we are lucky some years to even get a Summer) say June then Booooooom all of a sudden as if by magic your back in Winter ❄️ say around September, and some Winters can appear even earlier..
