@@AnAmericanGuitarist Great question! The WA12 MKII does not include rack ears. It is a bit larger than a half rack space at 10.5" wide. We recommend using a rack shelf or tray if you want to put it in a rack. Feel free to reach out with any other questions. Thanks! Sung vocals, or spoken vocals? I think I prefer a Neve 73 style preamp for sung vocals, or quiet spoken vocals - more flattering. Unless it's something aggressive like punk/death metal vocals. I prefer API for more aggressive spoken vocals (punchier, more dynamic & aggressive). I like the API-style pres most for electric guitars, like Mitch demoed. A transformer-less mic (like say the Warm Audio WA-73 Jr) can be smoothed out nicely by the Cinemag transformers here. Or if the mic has transformers, you'll get further smoothing. Won't be a problem with an API, since they are quite dynamic anyway, plus you have that color switch if you need them to cut through more.
Hi mr Gallagher. Could you please tell the difference between this wa 12 and the tb 12? Id like to improve my mic preamp for my home recording. I need only to put a mic or a guitar or a bass. No need to mic a drum set. So wich one would you me suggest to buy between the two and why... Thanks
Great question, thanks for reaching out! They are both transformer based pre-amps so they definitely share many characteristics, but the Tone Beast has switchable op-amps, capacitors and transformers, essentially making it a more versatile WA12. The TB12 has the vintage 1731 op-amp which the WA12 has, but it also has a cleaner op-amp. The transformer options on the TB12 allow you to go between a more mid-rangey or transparent sound as do the capacitors, so you can tweak it at just about any stage. Let me know if I can help with anything! Connor Smith, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1793, connor_smith@sweetwater.com
@@sweetwater ok thanks. I would use one of them with an audient id 14 interface. Some say that in that case it would be Better to put a direct box between the audio interface and the preamp itself.

Hello wich pre, eq and compresor redomend for flamenco guitars and ronrocos? whith moto 4pre
Sounds fun. It would be fun to play around with. Mess around and record some sounds. Even if you have no idea what your doing and just want to experiment
For all you people needing 20 mics & 4 monitors, look at his setup. If you can't get the sound you want from this simple setup, you need to improve your playing/singing.

Does this come with rack ears? Is it a half space unit or smaller?

@@sweetwater Ok. Good ideas. Thanks.
If I can hear bleed from Mitch's headphones, that means he's not only demoing this gear, but also
PRODUCING A NEW ALBUM

WHAT TYPE OF GUITAR ARE YOU USING HERE?
Isn’t this the smaller version of the new tone beast black?
Would it be recommended for a transformer microphone for vocals?
