- How A Nigerian Company Built the Fastest Internet in West Africa is a video where Tayo Aina shares the story of a Nigerian company called IPNX who have built a 1GB per second internet service. I also share my struggles with Nigerias internet service and how I believe better internet services can bring about more development in Nigeria and Africa as a Whole.

Tayo, This is unbelievable. That a Nigerian company can do this? if only the government can create a conducive environment, the economy will just move like a rocket. From Bayelsa State Nigeria 🇳🇬.
Nothing is impossible in Nigeria it's the government that's the problem like you said
Lai lai them no go do am.....Nigerian Government don't like solving problems on longterm, they like "shukeshuke" in bits. They repair roads in bits, pay workers in bits, investment in Agriculture in bits ....na their life be that
Bruh, It's just 128mb in a second i wonder why everyone is getting excited. It's still not that fast in my opinion
@SonOvAGod The Government should stay out of most things, you want change, real change, private sector going forward, always.
I have said this several times and in several places, WE DON'T HAVE A GOVERNMENT IN NIGERIA, SO LEAVE THEM OUT OF THIS.

This is amazing! I live in Denmark, and in some places you can get up to 1 GBit/s - but not everywhere!
I think Denmark was around top 5 on your list of Internet speeds :-) I think I have around 500 MBit/s where I live.
Communication and education is key for increased technological and economical development of any society.
The Internet makes that so much easier! I have learned so much from the Internet myself - and I also share a lot
of my own knowledge (in programming) via the Internet myself !
Hw much do you pay for the 500Mbps?
Wow! Its cheaper than Starlink yet much much faster. Amazing! Kudos Nigeria. Love y'all.
I can't get it in my area.... So starlink is better
Internet and electricity are my major fear to face when I come back home to continue my business. I use internet day and night as I do all my work online.
Thank you for this Tayo.
That's the main reason why i haven't been back to Nigeria since 2019🤣🤣🤣
That is a thing of the past now. With solar panels and inverter at a cost of about $1000, you can disconnect from the power grid and enjoy 24 hours electricity (without AC ofcourse but with a deep freezer)
@@789Ability: How efficient is that. Do you mean you can disconnect from normal electricity? Are you really sure if I spend 1k usd I will get electricity 24/7?
@@RealityStand I have been off grid since December iof last year when I returned to Nigeria. I went with a 3.5KVA inverter (about $250 at that time) . Bought 6 300watta solar panels (N36k each on Nigeria) and two 200ah battery.
Although I did the connection myself. The total cost was just around $1000.
Im in America and Im only getting 390 down and 23 up . Thats impressive what theyre doing
All the way from TRINIDAD&TOBAGO in the CARIBBEAN I am always amazed @ the growth & development in AFRICA I would be there soon I would keep u posted keep showing up the cradle of all civilization Mother AFRICA
Perfection fiber connections with faster speed is a big time game changer
I live in US and have been researching broadband internet speed in African countries. I work online so this is a huge factor for me. Thanks for this informative video, it always seemed to me that with the largest economy, Nigeria should have the best broadband options.
Tayo please, stay in Nigeria. Nigeria is so beautiful man. I love your videos and i love how you represent us Nigerians! Keep up the good work.
Love the maps in this edit. The sound design is on point too.🥰🥰🥰
I use IPNX also… it’s a Fibre optics cable… what really matters to me now is the ping and jitters…
The gigabit speed won’t matter at home cos 50Mb/s speed costs as much as 45,000 monthly….
Plus 900MB/s is different from 900Mb/s … gigabits is different from megabytes… internet speed is measured in bits, while read/write speed is measured in bytes
Do you experience a delay in the ping and jitters?
And from your experience, how reliable is the connection? is there delay in response time between when data request is sent and before it responds?
@@blockshark from 7am till 11am, the ping is about 6ms.... that is almost unbeatable
Once it's afternoon till midnight, it goes back to 25-30ms ping
I'm a gamer, so it matters a lot
@@willy7968 what ping do you get on Fortnite?
You know 900mbps is just 112megabyte in a second right

Last time I was in Nigeria (2019) the internet was almost unusable and very expensive. I'm glad things are improving.
Yes very expensive like 10 euros will be gone in 3 days 🥲 very expensive
Do let us know when you are back 👍
Same. Was in Nigeria last 2019. Trust me it's still bad compared to other countries. Don't let this video deceive you. 1Gbps is just 128MB in one second.
My brother wen u come to Cameroon you will believe that NIGERIA internet is still the best and cheaper
@@helotemitope6746 it's not the best guy😅. You been to Ghana?
BRO. This is CRAZY SPEED!!!!! I stayed in two airbnb in lagos and they both had ipnx. the speed was so stable . Although. it wasn't this fast. but it was great for videoconferencing. Great content bros.
That's so great hope they will expand to Ibadan soon🤞.

This is such a great thing to know. IPNX Breaking Grounds. Thanks for sharing as always Tayo.
east africa. tayo aina my favorite youtuber.
Fewer customers sharing a huge bandwidth, that's what you get. As the customer strength grows, the speed will start dropping. It's like a pressured water pipe, the more the users, the lesser the pressure unless IPNX will be investing more in sustaining that speed as the users grow.
It happened with SMILE
It's fiber though, so it's much easier to increase the total bandwidth
Another useful video. Perfect company for you to talk about and promote. What I like is the unlimited plan. It will just be like the way people in western world use internet. For me internet is now up there at same level as water and electricity the importance. It’s one of the important ingredients for building economy. Obviously we must not forget to fix electricity in Nigeria. I now work permanently 3 days a week out of 5 from home because of the pandemic. It wouldn’t have been possible without fast speed internet. Continue the amazing work you do Tayo.
I would like to see them expand into Ghana :D
Are they in Ikeja?
Nope we can’t trust it and we already have enough fiber providers and yeah this type of company needs a hard background check first before they can work in Ghana
Why? You already have speed that rivals theirs. Even Vodafone fiber on a good day downloads at 1.2Gbps (though with ethernet). So what are you on about???😂😂😂
@@michaelikupa8331 more competition will bring the quality up and the price down, plus there is so little places in Ghana where you can get that kind of speed. Also it is African owned unlike vodafone, so their profits will more likely be spend and invested here.
@@KwabenaOfori13 You can get Vodafone/MTN Fibre broadband in a lot of places in Accra. The one in this video is just on the island in Lagos. Mind you, Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria in landmass. So they occupy a small part of the smallest state. I really don't mind if a company is locally/ internationally owned. As far as they give me the quality i desire, what they use the money for is not my concern because it's not gonna come back to me anyway.
First African owned company that catches my attention, 12k Naira is nothing for such good internet service ❤️❤️ amazing work my African people
Very impressive. I've been battling internet speed here in Ghana I can't believe this very impressive work
Tayo and your videos, most educational, awesome and all.
Nice video Tayo! The speed is impressive! Although, I feel I should point out that internet speed is actually measured in Mbps - Megabits per second, not MBps - Megabytes per second. 8 bits equal one byte. This means 900Mbps is approximately 113 MBps. Therefore, uploading an 800 MB-sized video would take more than one second, maybe 5-6 seconds.
Very correct! Was going to point that out as well
It’s still very fast!
Still very very fast for Nigeria.
You’re very correct. I think for now swift is the fastest. 80mb/s i downloaded 50GB game in 4hours
Thanks for the clarification! Very insightful 🙏🏾
I work in delta impianti as organiser manager in Italy I'm trying to bring fibra ottica to Nigeria that we boost telecom companies in nigeria hopefully am still waiting for NFG to approve it .

Please bring to plateau state!
I thought i would be 1st here! I guess not! 😭 now let me watch...
😅😅😅😅 You we’re flexing in Ghana 🇬🇭
Please @Tayo Aina continue posting videos like this. I really hope their service is available in Abuja, Wuse Zone 1 cause i'll definitely be a customer. I pay currently 17,500 and get 3mbps compared to their 17,200 for 18mbps. This is so good! Thanks your really helping out
Great job Tayo for this informative content ❤️
Wow. Thank you Tayo! I'm one who has benefited a lot as well from the internet and IPNX has been top quality for us in our office as well. Seeing your video I have a couple of questions to ask.
Does the 1Gbps IPNX service only work in predeveloped areas that are fiber-connected?
How much does the 1Gbps IPNX service cost?
Thanks. You inspire me to make informative videos and to be a content creator. 🙏🏾
Good Afternoon. Yes it only works with fibre in precables locations however we have other non fibre options that may interest you. Thank you.
@@ipnxnigerialimited4240 Thank you for replying me. Well noted. We use your service as the internet provider in our office and your internet service has been splendid. Downtimes are rare with your internet service. Thank you for your excellent service. Keep it up.
@@ipnxnigerialimited4240 Hi, I use a fibre optic Internet service in my estate (Millennium estate, Gbagada, Lagos) which is also truly unlimited and it's served me well for over 5 years. At the moment, I rely on them for my audio/visual needs in addition to the regular internet service which has seen me dump the likes of DSTV since 2016 and have never regretted that action.
I'm aware IPNX is available in the Gbagada Phase 1 & 2 areas and would love to see you guys extend your service to our end as well. A little competition will surely spice things up.
Tayo I am loving this new editing style. I think the Internet will save Nigeria, the internet has created some many opportunities for people around the globe. Sadly, Nigeria is lagging behind but I believe there will be some positive change.

Tayo awesome stuff really
I'm a Senior Cloud Architect (AWS, GCP, Azure) and fast reliable internet is a must. If this can span across Africa especially Ghana I'll be moving sooner than expected.
This will change the scope of business to Nigeria.
Thank you . In addition to the pros of fast internet, there is telemedicine which could help with medical services from consultants from the tertiary hospitals to doctors in the rural communities, tele-education.
An amazing video, well done. I live in the UK now but I grew up in Ikoyi. I have been back to recruit pupils for UK boarding schools and I in fact met you once at a hotel in Lagos. Keep up the good work.
Tayo,
You've started a huge ball rolling.
Watch all Internet Services reach out to you to show their impressive speeds and pricing soon.
Competition is healthy, we need to watch them all and those that'll sell more are those focused more on end users and are unlimited bandwidth based.
Let's watch the show.
Nice video once again man.
Indeed he has.
I am in Jos, and I just tested it; currently, I have 5.1 Mbps.
Thanks for showing us how to check the speed.
Dear Tayo, while 9ja Internet speed is not the greatest in Africa it's not as bad as you paint it.
Thanks for this video, IPNX is definitely affordable.
Me too I thought about that. Nigerians over emphasized Nigeria's problem. Yet Nigeria is the greatest nation in Africa my opinion
Thank you for the feedback sir

Wao so with just #12,900/Month in Nigeria am good to go! Thank you Aina you're a gem!
Tayo could you please do a follow up video on this? Maybe a few months after. Just to update us on the credibility of the product and your experience using it after a couple of months.
This may be one of the best news for me this year.
I currently use IPNX and I can confirm it is that fast and consistent 💯
Also 800Mbps is actually 800 Mega bits per second which translates to 100 Mega bytes per second which is still head and shoulders above the average connection speed in Nigeria
is it consistent, can it go all day without Internet break down
I've been waiting for someone to say this
What plan are you on and their current price please?

We need an update on this video. How has it been working for you? What are the best options for remote work in Enugu? I am a foreigner and I need help!
Was asking the same question.
It a shame we don't have any of all those telecomms found in Lagos here.
This is good. Africa needs more and cheaper internet access.
hi tayo.As this ISP is using fiber and as you are testing a server right in nigeria, you are limited by the capacity of your network adapters and the ones on the routers . In some cases it can hit more than 9 gig per second if your network adapters (and the ones on the modem) are a 10gig adapters. To be very sure of what you are getting, before you start testing, click on "change server" and select another server. I will recommend you to choose a server out of Nigeria, maybe un the uk or in america or any other country than Nigeria to test the speed. the result you get is the real international speed.
Please expand this all over Nigeria....
My favorite Nigerian UA-camr ever good job bro I love your video background too.
Very affordable... Good job Nigeria!
Tayo, amongst many contending factors, IMHO, #4 stands out
- Power (electricity)
- Connectivity Network (Internet)
- Connectivity Movement (Road, Rail)
- Accountability (Corruption, Governance)
I posit, as I've done many years, the four above will leapfrog #Nigeria within. 3-5 years.
PS: Not that other factors are not important. Kodwa me, these #4 are #MustDo.
When next you're in SA, let us know.
Great New I'm spreading the word to friends.
VeryX3!!! Good. Now I will be able to stream in 1080 on my phone without breaking or waiting for videos to load...
This is amazing so proud of this team. But it is not a surprise. WALK WITH ME: - Otis Frank Boykin -invented electrical resistors used in computing; Mark Dean invented the ISA BUS and lead the team making the One-gigahertz computer processor chip and co-creator of the IBM personal computer. invented the rubber substitute made from petroleum stock that was used to cover and insulate telephone cables.... Let me just stop there..... :D And today we keep on going ....
Thumbs up for such improvements which will enhance development
I really like this video, keep the good work up bro!💯

Tayo I think you should also take the time to do videos on service providers such as the one featured above.
Talking about fast internet, this spped can comfortably compete with broadband, thank you Tayo for bringing these interviews to your channel. More Grease and more power to them and to you of course💪🏼🤗
Thank you Tayo, may God bless your hard work
Even given the current state of the Nigerian Government, I feel like Nigeria is going to progress exponentially in these next few years due to the private sector of course
