@@Shabbahhh117 Do you still think Xbox is a better option than Playstation? What about Playstation exclusives? I'm thinking of getting one of these two platforms but I don't know which one I should get
I have a switch and ps4 and I’m missing the Xbox and its library as I haven’t had an Xbox since the Xbox One about 8 years ago. I recently got gamepass for a good price on my laptop and I’m craving to play the entire library on console as I’m a console player at heart. The 1tb series S might be what I need.
Same here. I’m happy with RPG’s jrpg’s still coming out on the switch. But playing infinite for fun online with game pass the other day has me wanting to play the halo master chief collection again. And a new gears of war game in 26 called gow ea, there’s a trailer for it recently released
Bro wtf? Series s is no joke with gamepass included I've played over 100 serious AAA and AA games. I only play tasteful games, plague requiem, star wars jedi fallen order, survivor, halo infinite, gears of war 4 and 5, forza horizon 5 and motorsport, lara croft trilogy, Sea of thieves, diablo 4, control, mass effect, deadspace, dead island, resident evil 2 and 3, hellblade senua saga and 100's of more serious to play titles. Its no kid machine, if you think its for people who don't play much games then ps5 is people who do not even play games as ps5 costs a penny to buy games that you like especially third party games which are more than 600 are on game pass for free and is around 2k-8k on playstation. So i think playstation is something for kids whereas xbox series s is for serious gamers who don't give a shit and want to play lot of titles. I play 3-4 games each day and by the end of the month i delete them and just download new titles, or sometimes if my friends come it would take half and hour to download 2k nba fifa or ufc, or split screen titles or any multiplayer game ( which are paid on ps5) and just delete them the same day i downloaded. So picking up a game and playing is more easier than buying a game and looking for sales and paid games too are cheaper if you own game pass ultimate then compared to playstation store or steam.
Yeah I really want to upgrade to next gen and prefer Xbox for game pass. But I’m no elite gamer. In fact I like oldies & indie games a lot of the time. And my TV is older and I really don’t plan on replacing it soon. The S is coming out on top for me so far.
As someone who has a series s, and bought it more or less a year ago. I can confidently say I do NOT regret my purchase! Sure there are more powerful consoles out there, but the series s is absolutely perfect for your casual to even moderate gamer like me. With game pass and EA pass, I have HOARDS of games I can play through, along with being able to access my beloved cross-gen games even back from my 360 days. The graphics are superb in my opinion, and the responsiveness of the console itself is snappy and to the point. It's great to pop a game up from time to time like HALO, or Borderlands, to Batman Arkham Night, RDR II, and even my personal favorites like Slain Back from hell, Blasphomues, Scorn, or Dredge.. also, of course having access to things like Hulu, Netflix, and UA-cam allows my family, friends and myself to enjoy a causal night of non-gaming. From watching movies, or just turning on the XBOX for the background noise as we play board games or cards, and things of that nature. It may not be the powerhouse of gaming like its sibling the X or even the PlayStation. But the S can more than hold its own, still having beautiful visuals, great auditory output, and looks visually pleasing with its slim design, all while being about twice as cheap as the aforementioned consoles. How is that even a contest?
It's also a great emulation machine. Which is a nice extra if you're interested in doing that. I think you just have to pay a one time fee to Microsoft to unlock dev mode.
First time viewer, new subscriber here. This was the perfect, informative video. You answered every question that I had when considering the Series S. I currently have a PS5, but want to take advantage of Game Pass, and the Series S looks to be my best option. Thanks for the information.
would you recomend it ? i have a ps5 and quest 3 , considering this as i want to play forza 5 and microsoft flight sim 24 when it comes out, also gonna work away so could take it with me
the series s is a great console but without the disk drive it limits you to only playing digital games . Its alot of games that you can no longer purchase or play from the digital store but if you have the disk you can still enjoy them on the series x . Just to name a few , The Orange Box, Driver SF , Transformers, F.E.A.R ect...
If they gave you an option to be able to play physical games, like being able to put in an external blu ray drive or something like what sony is doing with the detachable disk drive I think that would have been a great idea. They could still sell the console at a low price, and if you want to play physical games you still have that option by just plugging in an external drive.
I think once the digital X comes out next month for $399 it will be the better deal as it will have the full power of the X. I will probably sell my S for the new digital X.
I just bought mine for 180 dollars. For ps5 pro 700 dollars or even tha normal ps5 and xbox series x at around 450 to 500 dollars right now. I think my series S is a winner for a price
Just bought a refurbished series s 1 tb from the Microsoft website and it works great good graphics I love it all I need is an extra 512 GB expansion card to get a full 1 TB it's 800 GB out of the box
The only thing that I do not like about the series S so far is it does not have an optical audio port and I run mine through a projector that only has one HDMI which goes into my Xbox and there is only one HDMI in the Xbox as well so I don’t have a way to plug my audio into my projector or Xbox
Yes, If you are a casual, or someone who doesn't care about having the best resolutions or framerates, and you are fine with a digital only console. By all means go for it, it's a great value. Honestly, if the Series S was able to play physical games, (or at least gave the option to be able to play physical games like being able to plug in an external blu ray drive or something Kind of like what Sony is doing with the de-teachable disc drive) I would have gone for it over the Series X. It probably still would have been cheaper then the Series X. I really don't care that much about 4k or the highest frame rates, I have a big library of physical games and I wanted to be able to play them on my new console, and honestly going from a console that could play physical games (My Xbox One) to a console that couldn't would have felt like I was just regressing. which is why I went for the Series X the added graphical fidelity and performance really wasn't that important to me. If I was that much of a graphics whore, or frame rate whore, I would just go to PC.
this was such a great insight i think im def getting the series s now! One question though… can old xbox controllers from the xbox 1 connect to the series s?
i’m trying to upgrade my family’s xbox one (2013 version) to a newer series. i’m debating between xbox one x or this. what does everyone think? - digital or disc doesn’t matter - planning on the 1TB - many types of games played from Fortnite to WOW to Sims - need something available and compatible to all types of games - use regular on a TV

Are they even doing a mid gen refresh? From their leaked plans it showed a series X without a disc reader and a few minor changes. But under the hood it's the same as the current one. So unless they're changing their minds and decide to make a better version to compete with the ps5 pro it's not worth the wait.
I got a Series S back in 2021 because it was the only next gen console I could get my hands on at the time. Over time, having a really nice 4K OLED I felt I was selling myself short. I ended up getting a series X and I could see a noticeable difference visually on my TV. The series S is great though, and kept it for my kiddos.
My only gripe with my series s is that the crew motorfest only runs at 30fps. I think that it is particularly choppy even to someone who doesnt care about fps.

Guys i want to buy a console and I want to find out which console would you suggest between the ps4 pro and the xbox series s. In terms of games and all that
I used to have an Xbox series S before I upgraded. Personally, it's much better than the PS4 pro simply because it's: Faster Smaller Can play any game the series X can Quick resume Quieter It's just a better experience overall, especially when it's much faster and can play games that the PS4 pro can't play (tech wise)
In my country Xbox series s 1TB is 430 €/$ and Playstation 5 slim digital 1TB is 450 €/$. But I can find used Xbox series s 512 GB for 165-180 €/$ and for used PS5 price is from 330 €/$ to 400€/$. New Playstation 5 is much better deal in my country.
Do people realize that xbox X doesn't actuaply support any 4k 120 fps? And even if so, i'm damn sure that the xbox does not do anything over than 60 fps. My friend was upset that he spend 500 euros.
Im about to upgrade my lads from Xbox one to....I dunno....Ive got so many physical media games and one Home xbox live account shared over both consoles....whats the most efficient answer, I don't want to lose access to rdr2, fallout, Titanfall.... Is it backwards compatible....will I be able to buy keys or will I have to pay the iron price on Xbox live for everything??

TV box, like Netflix, UA-cam, etc. You can get a wireless mouse/ keyboard combo and use it for Microsoft Edge (web browser). But if you don't game, it probably isn't worth it to you to be honest. Since it's mostly centered around being a gaming console.

I just bought my buddys series s, running it through a dvi to hdmi adapter and still, everything looks like it should Only Borderlands 3 keeps crashing every 5 minutes, must be the console right? 🤓
I strongly disagree with the statement that there's not much difference between the Series S and X. I own both, and the S is better than I expected. However, I still prefer the X because of the higher resolution offered on games. Also, there are a great number of titles that offer different modes to balance performance and quality whereas the Series S is only stuck at one mode. Finally, I would say try to find a Carbon Black version. The memory situation for the white version is atrocious.

Gamepass & accessories being cheaper & better quality at that will be more than enough reason to switch to Xbox. I don’t regret it I don’t think you will either :)
I have a mid tier pc and I keep coming back to the series s. It’s just nice playing on a tv in 1440. Look at it this way if you’re a casual gamer who enjoys gamepass… get it. If your more of a serious gamer stick to the higher tiered consoles or a pc
@@Shabbahhh117 Do you still think Xbox is a better option than Playstation? What about Playstation exclusives? I'm thinking of getting one of these two platforms but I don't know which one I should get
The Xbox controller gets a stick drift after 3-4 months 😂
The Xbox series S is perfect for those who don’t play a lot of video games. You can buy it for a kid and they will be happy with it.
@@digitalanimemerchandise7560it’s a joke my 😂😂😂😂 my Xbox x is meant for gamers not loser
I play a lot with my Series S and Im an adult. Its a good console, not a toy
xbox is weak af is like russian calculator with 30 fps lol

Still rocking mine all these years later, only issue is my storage is beyond full.
Plays 4k 60fps on my 4k tv and looks great
I think once the digital X comes out next month for $399 it will be the better deal as it will have the full power of the X. I will probably sell my S for the new digital X.
I just bought mine for 180 dollars.
For ps5 pro 700 dollars or even tha normal ps5 and xbox series x at around 450 to 500 dollars right now.
I think my series S is a winner for a price
hey, can you please tell where you bought it from? I can only find it for 250$ at max. I am really looking at around 200$ range.
The new xbox showcase is awesome, a lot of new games
I paid 219.99 with 3 month of game pass at target a few months ago.
I love my series S carbon black I was against it all digital but now I would not traded some games are really cheap in the Microsoft store
whats your game tag?

i’m trying to upgrade my family’s xbox one (2013 version) to a newer series. i’m debating between xbox one x or this. what does everyone think?
- digital or disc doesn’t matter
- planning on the 1TB
- many types of games played from Fortnite to WOW to Sims
- need something available and compatible to all types of games
- use regular on a TV
I primarily play sports games, madden & 2k, the only reason I am switching is for ncaa & gta, worth the x or get the s with extra storage?
If you don’t have a f’ing TV or don’t want physical copies of your games, then the S is fine
Series s > Ps5, series x or pc. Why? because of price to performance ratio, game pass versatility.
Bro wtf? Series s is no joke with gamepass included I've played over 100 serious AAA and AA games. @TNTahir yes i can afford it but there is a fun that i get in paying sensible amount of money that is worth it and honestly xbox series s is a 450$ console yes Microsoft and sony sell there console on 30% loss no gpu is selling on loss even after discounts. Never doubt the companies that are so much passionate about the tech that they sell it for loss. And there is an Indian urge to get bang for your buck. Not that I can't afford a 4090 but i don't wanna spend that much. And also i like to collect consoles. Immersion is what i want not the performance.
btw, the way you've faced your xbox in the closet is pointing the fan grill into the wall which means that it will run unnecesarrily hot, because it can't get rid of the air. You've basically blocked off the biggest air vent of the xbox series s.
Got mine since it was released and happy as my only console rn, I mostly play warzone and it runs it like a breeze no lags what so ever great budget beast
You only need hdmi 2.1 to play 4k at 120 fps. Since most don't play at that settings. Hdmi 2 is good enough for 1440p at 120 fps
I'm gonna buy series S now. I am gonna buy it mainly to play Fc25 to the fullest, I dont know whether it would be perfect! Give a suggestion brother!
I hope i can get a xbox series s this friday been trying for two weeks now 😢 really cannot wait for dragons dogma 2 , fallout , gears , etc im just a casual that really wants to join the gaming crowd 🎉🎉🎉
my xss setting: "1080p / 120fps", and the graphic result is better then "4K / 60fps" in a sony 4K tv.
i just bhought it for my son as his first gaming console. he jost got into gaming. and its tottally great for him. he can play forza horizon and thats what he wanted to play

loved my S. I just like playing games casually now. Id say Elden Ring/ Cyberpunk are the most recent games I've enjoyed. other than not I don't miss any new games.
i've bought into spending a lot for a good gaming pc but I honestly never feel up to sitting at a desk, throwing on a headset and crouching over a keyboard like I used to. i'd rather just play Elden ring on an A or Steam Deck at 45-60fps

Are they even doing a mid gen refresh? From their leaked plans it showed a series X without a disc reader and a few minor changes. But under the hood it's the same as the current one. So unless they're changing their minds and decide to make a better version to compete with the ps5 pro it's not worth the wait.
Better wait till 2026 😅
I got a Series S back in 2021 because it was the only next gen console I could get my hands on at the time. Over time, having a really nice 4K OLED I felt I was selling myself short. I ended up getting a series X and I could see a noticeable difference visually on my TV. The series S is great though, and kept it for my kiddos.
Same but last year I switched to ps5...but I still play the xbox every now and then

Guys i want to buy a console and I want to find out which console would you suggest between the ps4 pro and the xbox series s. In terms of games and all that
I used to have an Xbox series S before I upgraded. Personally, it's much better than the PS4 pro simply because it's:
Faster
Smaller
Can play any game the series X can
Quick resume
Quieter
It's just a better experience overall, especially when it's much faster and can play games that the PS4 pro can't play (tech wise)
From where you installed the mod?
Definitely if u have game pass and causally play
Thank you for mentioning 4k 60hz TV. That's what I have, and was my main question about which one to get. S it is.
i love the series s since it allowed me to get a new gen console that wasn't like 800 nzd
If I use my ps5 as my main gaming console would the series S be a good investment ?

is series S still viable for casual gaming at 2024/2025? will it struggle at upcoming premieres like monster hunter wilds etc?

I strongly disagree with the statement that there's not much difference between the Series S and X. I own both, and the S is better than I expected. However, I still prefer the X because of the higher resolution offered on games. Also, there are a great number of titles that offer different modes to balance performance and quality whereas the Series S is only stuck at one mode. Finally, I would say try to find a Carbon Black version. The memory situation for the white version is atrocious.
