A true Three Way system without additional crossovers and expensive head until is possible with these two amps! You used to have to get into the cost of the JL Slash series money for those capabilities. Of course you’ll need a way to set the gains and crossover points accurately though.
The designers and D4S did a fantastic job with these amps.

Ordered mine on pre-sale as soon as I found out they were available. I've been using mine for about a month now, along with a JP8 on 2 10's. Great quality, the plexi back is a nice touch. 9/10👍
How do you like the sound quality of the JP84? Any complaints at all?
@@donnie4191 no complaints here. I have Pioneer A class components in my doors. The sound quality is very good and they get pretty dang loud.
I switched to a single Mmats Juggernaut 12 on a JP23 for the sub and the 84 is just barely keeping up on the volume.
I have 2 Deaf bonce 305 15's ready to go in. I may have to step up the wattage on my doors pretty soon to a JP234.
I'll keep buying D4S amps. Best bang for the buck I've experienced.

I know those 2 are a smarter choice. Cheaper to repair or replace if something goes wrong and you can buy one at a time if you already have a 4 channel or monoblock that is getting you by for now but that 95 is just so good looking

I gotta say I really like the jp84 and jp8 next to each other. The controls of the jp84 remind me of the skar skv2 100.4 I used and abused for yrs, people hate on that amp but man it sounded great with a dm-608. I digress, good content as usual, hope it does well. I have a feeling it'll be popular. Still waiting to see the in-car test of the warhorse brotha! Take care and stay well

I bought one of these based on this review. It is meh. Channels 1/2 are not matched very well. ch1 is -3db lower volume than ch2. I owned a lot of amps and never had this issue. DSP corrected but what a headache when Troubleshooting a new setup. The sound quality is nothing like my infinity reference (R.I.P 2001-2020) but nothing I have found has been able to match it. I think A/B do somehow sound better for front stage but it not something I can describe. This AMP sounds fine no ground loop issues or buzz unless you go too hot with the gain settings. Bridging it down to 2 channels it seemed better across the board. After 2 years of running this I am looking for something else. 2.5 stars out of 5. It sure does look nice. DFS has nailed the old school look. Just needs some level meters hehe. One more thing don't use the clip led, it blinks way before it actually is clipping. Use a cheap oscilloscope to set gains for best results.

This really is a good 4 channel amp, especially at 4 ohms and 90% efficient means it shouldn't run too hot. Plus the Signal to Noise = 95 dB. Very good amp indeed.
This amp takes me back to the early 90s and the anodized heatsink like Soundstream D-series, Orion, and Linear Power.

I've got this amp, and it almost fits perfectly where the stock Mach 460 amp(s) were in my Mustang. Love the amp, but the only thing that threw me off was that it doesn't have any fuses, which would make this my first amp without an internal (replaceable) fuse.

@@ericxiong6582 I do realize that. It's not that I've never heard of it, it's just not super common amongst good car audio brands. I always run an external fuse inside the engine bay regardless. My observation wasn't meant to be a jab at its quality.
@@ColinDies its less common on 4 channels. High end monoblocks are almost always externally fused. He mentioned this was a 4 channel class d amp which to me is way more odd. This amp would be perfect for a quad 6.5s or quad low power 8s in a truck under seat box. It's insane to me it's not class AB topography. That's a freaking 4 channel sub amp.
Every amp should be fused near the battery, and that's really all you need.
They seam to make quality products. Would like to see some review of small amps used in the Atv utv world as that market is on fire right now

LOL! i just pulled the trigger on the combo JP84 ,JP8 combo 339.00 great deal in las vegas,coming from SK 400/4 and SK 500/1 these amps gave a good 6 years, one went out ,now the 4 ch. good budget amps ,BUT internals,are 2004 design got mine in 2018,SO You Know,,found out about it from one of you friends in the UK,who repairs amplifiers,sorry forgot his name,thanks for all your audio amp advice , very much appreciated.

I think for the size they should have gone A/B. But I understand to price them be competitive in the market. I think they have a better consumer base in affordable a market than most products. We've all seen your amp dynos with Walmart amplifiers and people are catching on. ☺👋
@DJ WRAITH I agree with the power to price point but I've never experienced class D amplifier for mids and highs it's always been class A/b for my satellites and I don't mind doing a Class D for my sub. There's also no reason to drive 3000 watts to one sub just to push it to its limits when you don't have everything else matched. Everybody emphasizes on the back end of their stereo system and seem to neglect the front end of the system the thing is when you match your speakers with your amplifier even with less power you can make the system Extremely Loud!. Most people don't have the money to pay installers and they don't bother to educate themselves when it comes to a system balance. I once was a rookie car audio exploded in the early 90s
Not to say that class B you can't be good cuz they've gotten a lot better but that isn't to say that I can't give it a shot. It does save you a whole lot of money dumping under your hood just to upgrade your electrical system
@DJ WRAITH the one thing I was able to get for the same price was a 4321 mtx4 Channel which is about the same size and actually has a little more power. The only downfall is that amp 25 years old. Other than it was very well taken care of and hardly use does make it have a good life but it is something that is so pristine I like to keep it in my collection even though originally I did buy it to install on my truck. Ice white with no Nicks😍

I want to use the JP84 and a pair of D4S 65 v2 to use in a chuchero box build. I have both of these in my cart and I'm trying to determine which 3" tweeters to grab. I think this chuchero build is gonna rock with my dual 510e DD subs/1100d amp @ 1ohm.
*** 6/25/2024 *** JP84, pair of 65 v2 and a pair of 4" Pioneer ts-b401pro tweeters arrived.
*** 8/05/2024 *** install completed with a Boss (BVCP9700A-FL) 7" head unit, a backup camera and this system is filthy! sadly I can't connect the reverse wire; reverse wire holds 8v running and that keeps the camera always on display, a quick touch to select and the camera is visible. upgrading the head unit asap because it neither has a search function, nor does it have any type of cataloging feature for stored media. Media file information is displayed as a list with nothing but playback available (20gb music/1.5tb videos).

I know he’s just starting out doing this. Been selling stuff for a long time but now he’s putting his name on them. I think it’s a great marketing things. But neither one of these are anything I would ever buy. For the bang for the buck there’s a lot better. I wish him the best and I hope he does better in the future. I think this guy is motivated in a hard-working person. But I really wish you would come out with something that’s worth having.

Just ordered this to push sundown sa coaxial 6x9's and 6.5s. And have the jp23v1.5 to push a single sa12 v2 @1 ohm. Definitely not going to turn the gain or bass knob up all the way on the jp23. Not trying to kill my 12 lol
Save 20 bucks buying two amps, I say the better money. Two heatsinks better cooling as opposed to one and if going for SQ, less cross talking between amps as opposed to cross talking between channels. I get the filtering tech is better now, but that was always the argument back in the day. Also better flexibility for the system and mounting as well
So you'd advise the 4 ch/mono amp setup vs the JP95 5 channel?
@@nathanmyles3785, I would considering it's cheaper to buy two separate amps than one bigger 5 channel. You'd have more future flexibility, as far as space, might not can run both in the same place, one can easily tuck under a seat or behind a factory panel
@@crazylarryjr - On the website, it's about 40 bucks more for the 4ch/mono combo over the 5 ch that's actually rated a bit more powerful than the combo. I doubt i'll add more to my system that I'm putting together. Just some nice mid level components in the doors (leaning CT sounds Mesos, 3way front doors, 2 way back doors) and a decent sub box for the hatch (leaning Skar SDR dual 10 loaded box), and at this point leaning to the JP95 for power. That should be more than enough for me, doubt I'll ever go beyond that and have to deal with upgrading alternators and extra batteries and all that stuff, hell I'm worried that might be a bit much on my stock alternator.

Korean half bridges are ridiculously priced these days. You can try to buy manufacturer direct and they want more for them than the current ones we already have. We threw them a bone and now they think they're GM or Ford.

Love your channel, Big D. I bought the JP8/JP8⁴ combo, with the intent of using the JP8⁴ to run a set of components in my old school mini truck. Is there a need to run splitters on the RCAs? Can I use only the front channel on the amp or did I hear you have to use all four channels correctly?

Recently installed one of these amps into my personal build and since day one it has been hissing. Everything else works fantastic but the hiss drives me insane.
Did you unplug your RCA’s and see if there’s still a hiss in the speakers? It’s unlikely to be caused by the amp unless your signal is noisy
@@wal I just checked and the hiss does go away, but I don’t know how the signal would be noisy when it’s coming straight from a Alpine ILX-650 and I’m using Knuconceptz Klarity RCA’s

I think the mono block has more power then the jp95, so it would depend on how much sub you want to run on getting this amp combo. Or if you're a metal head bass isn't so important . 6.5 or 8 sub would be plenty

BigD, you say the sound quality is good, but how would you compare it to a decent class a-b? I am trying to talk myself into buying this blue beauty but am old and kinda biased against class d for mids/highs. Would you run this amp in your own vehicle is what I'm asking I guess.
Honestly, you will probably not notice much of a difference. I ran a Mosconi as100.4 and ran this in my car and the quality difference is almost negligible tbh. As long as you've got the electrical for it, this will play nicely. Currently using this amp on some Morel Virtus 602 components bridged, I've finally got a DSP on the way and this amp will probably still put out enough power for them to run the front stage adequately

This or jp95 to run all interior speakers in a 2018 honda accord? I picked up jp8 for my down4sound prefab single e12 sub box.
If I have a 4 channel rated at 70w 4ohm (Wilson test results), but my speakers are rated 120w RMS 4ohm, should I invest in better 4 channel AMP? It sounds great now using an Audiocontrol line driver and crossover, but would it sound significantly better with this amp for example?

what am I missing with the Acyrilic...what is the point to put it on the bottom, where you will never see it once mounted?
Why not reverse it so you can see through the amp once mounted, unless you give a way to mount it upside down, per se??

Looking for an honest answer. I am torn between the JP84 and JP234. Amp will be pushing to JBL GTO939's on front and rear channels in a F150. Currently I have a 5 channel Rockville DB55 (90x4 at 4-ohms, 128x4 at 2-ohms GTO939 are 3 -ohms) is adequate but the sub channel of 550 watts is just not quite enough. So, options are to just run the DB55 in 4 channels. and get a JP13 for the subs. But...... the DB55 is a class AB and thinking of going to 2 class D amps for sub and doors to hopefully avoid upgrading electrical. The main question is would the JP84 be enough, or should I look into a JP234 for more headroom and power but maybe not cranked up to full wattage.

Can we get a AVR dyno? All AVRs are only rated with 1ch driven vs having a full 3.1-7.1 channel setup. We don't know how many watts were actually getting and if a external amp is worth
Always a huge fan of your channel but I feel like these reviews of boutique brands are reviews of the same old off patent class D korean designed circuits in neat cases. Still great content, though.

This amp looks very similar to a planet audio big bang 1200.1 4 channel same design . I think the planet audio big bang 1200.4 is a better value same board basically.
Having a hard time deciding between this and the jp34ab. Is it worth the extra money for the ab? I like how little the d class is and it draws less current. But curious your thoughts big d?! I guess ultimately is the ab a big noticeable difference in sq?

What’s your thoughts on the clarion xr5420 amp? Did you ever review that product or any other ones? Reason I asked because one of the places I went to check prices for amps in the past he swore up and down that clarion is very underrated and it can hold up to any million dollar yet. Yet, I can’t find one review about that amp or that company 🤷♂️
Clarion was good mid-range stuff back in the day. Better than Sony or Kenwood but not quite Alpine/Eclipse level stuff. At some point their name was purchased by some conglomerate (just like Blaupunkt) and as far as I know their stuff is generic off the shelf rebranded Chinese generic rubbish. Don't waste your time on Clarion unless you're into vintage gear and buying something from the 90s or early 00s that's still in good condition

I just found it out odd that I’m willing to spend a fair amount of money on a good amp like jl audio or kicker he kept telling me those are like c league amps compared to clarion. Even more odd he wanted $350 for the amp before installing it. After doing some research it was going for 149.99, I just decided to go elsewhere.
