That last minute turn at 200 feet AGL was made with precision and skill. Perfect alignment with the runway. That's not easy even for us with a lot of time in the Bus. Mad skillz sir. Well done.

Wrong, the very last left turn was at 100 ft (33 m).

i cant even find the runway on flightsim. lol.
He is cold as ice and knows the terrain every square inch. Knows exactly where to initiate the turn at 3:05 and then manouvering through terrain so close at bottom and right wong tip also. Had to keep an eye on the speed and also ensure he doesnt overshoot threshold mark by long margin or else there would be a go-around. Also had to safely pass the river and level the plane at last moment just before touchdown by maintaining centerline just few hundred meters before touchdown. Looked so scary towards the end but he made it looked like he was parking his maruti 800 in an open ground. Very proud of you Sir

I‘ve been there myself, super spookiest flight of my entire life, landing in Paro and arriving in the Switzerland of the Himalayas, how stunning. The pilots are especially trained former fighter pilots.
I doubt they are "specially trained" fighter pilots. It doesn't take any special ability to fly this approach.
Au contraire. Paro, like several airports in the world require a specific endorsement to land at this airport. They’re not necessarily specially trained former fighter pilots, but they are specially trained. There are only a few pilots with the certification to fly there.
@@garybain2339 It does take special ability to do this approach. You're basically maneuvering and slaloming in between mountain range at approach speed (below 200kts, at landing config), at a very high altitude (+7000 ft) which has thinner air, so one mistake can potentially end your life instantly. It's like Calvi circling approach, but way way extreme.

The plane is just insecure and was lashing out.
Imagine living in a place like this, waking up in the morning, looking out your window, and seeing those majestic, gorgeous mountains! All I see outside my window is an overgrown lot across the street, and my neighbor's driveway full of old cars out the north window. (The south view is my backyard, and west is a stand of woods, so those views are nice, but nothing like the freaking Himalayas! 😉😁💕)

The approach to runway 33 is far more challenging, but made look easy by theses guys. No automation needed.. Special certification required. Only a handful of airline pilots can land here. I'm hoping to go here next year to experience it. Great approach and landing. Thanks for sharing.

Druk Air had the BAe 146-100 in use which I like so much. They wanted to order the latest Avro version RJX which was sadly cancelled. That was in 2002. NICE video of the A319! Huge like! Cheers Matt

they don't land night times, normally!
I'm pretty sure there are no night landings allowed there. At least for jets. For jets, it's day, VFR only. Just like Lukla. =PC=

I don’t think night flights are allowed for obvious reasons.
The captain buttered the landing. And I can’t even land smoothly with a normal ILS approach.

These pilots are so highly skilled in landing and taking off from this airport.
Only a few pilots are qualified to do so, and it's totally clear why.
Yup only about 15 captains are qualified for this approach. Not even first officers only captains allowed
Don't think I'd feel very serene flying into one of the most dangerous airports in the world to begin a visit to the happiest country on Earth!
