I have not heard ONE SINGLE legitimate makeup artist/beauty YTer give this a good review. Many were initially impressed, but after about 30 minutes, the honeymoon was over, and it started looking terrible.
What you don’t see on TikTok is wear tests and a lot of filters being used too! From what I’ve seen it can wear really really badly and is not the friend of us combo and oily girls. I won’t be wasting my money so thank you for taking one for the team! One of those over hyped ones I think and not worth it xx
Tara Lynn did a really great review on this foundation and finally made it work for her after much trial and error if you are interested. It’s such a shame here in Australia we don’t get all the makeup launches and have to spend so much money to get the products here. This is why I prefer youtube reviews over a 1 minute tiktok. Most foundations look great when first applying, but its the wear time that shows you how great a foundation really is. I am 41 yrs old with dry skin and I can just tell this would settle into my fine lines and accentuate them. Also the amount of product at that price point, um No thanks!

Yes the separation and texture are issues I also struggle with when it comes to alot of foundations. The only one I like to use now that is my holy grail is clinique even better refresh.
They say this is for dry skin BUT when I applied this over a slight dry patch it accentuated soo much! Also it doesn't wear well at all. After 3 hours it looked cakey and separated...and remember I have dry skin!
You are a lifesaver, Nikkia!! So glad I looked to see if you tested this before I purchased. My favorite foundation I ever used was the Maybelline Dream Smooth Whipped Mousse and sadly it was discontinued 3 or 4 years ago. The formula looks kinda similar so I was hoping this would be a dupe that would replace my old fav. I’m super oily/acne prone and now pushing 40 so I’m sure KVD would be a mess on me too. Sigh.
This has such mixed reviews for all skin types. I have maturing combination skin (oily t-zone, normal) with texture and pores being my issues and it works great for me. I use the smallest amount and apply it with a beauty sponge. I do use a pore filling primer around my nose and I do set it was powder. I didn’t think I’d like this at all, but surprisingly I do.

Thanks for your take on this product. Make up by Shayla’s UA-cam channel had a review on this product. The first time she used it she said it was to cakey but she gave it another try with considerably less product and found it to be less cakey around the same areas of her mouth etc. I purchased Shade number 68 which is a little bit too dark and then I ordered and received Shade number 60 which is a little bit too light for me. I blended them together to get a better match but I think I want to try Shade number 63. Tatcha liquid to powder primer underneath. Overall I got that since it’s such a full coverage product do not use too much of it at all if your skin is pretty perfect underneath. From my personal experience it looks good under a light layer of translucent powder, I used the one by Laura Mercier....For skin reference I’m almost 50 so I’m not oily anymore, I’m more on the dry side. There is a duke power over for a oily skin folks by Milani that I discovered and I want to try that out to see...it’s a cream to powder formula.That’s been trending on TikTok as well. Especially at a much lower price point.

If you're talking about the Woke Up Like This foundation, I have it and I really like it. They shade-matched me very well so it looks natural. Their foundation brush is also very good!
They have the best primer and love the foundation and concealer for my dry texture skin.. Best thing tho.. U just try it for shipping cost and return for free if don't like!
Being an oily girl myself I recently discovered a moisturizer from ELF that is for oily skin, it really does keep my face pretty mattified thru out the day, it's in a pink lotion pump package and I really love it!! Thought it was worth mentioning in case you'd be interested. I found it at my local Walmart with the ELF products
I haven't found a foundation that doesn't separate a little near my lower lip & chin, even my holy grail Estee Lauder Doublewear. But I can usually press it with powder to touch up and it looks fine. I just received this same foundation today. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. Allie Glines tried it and it looked great on her. She has combination skin that is acne prone. She used a brush though.

Unfortunately as an oily girl, I also had the same effect with the foundation. Separation and texturing. I have never had a foundation settle into lines on my forehead, under eye and smile lines. I also have never ever got oily on my chin area but it did and I know that’s from the foundation not my skin (its the driest area on my face). It’s also the only foundation I’ve tried where I’ve gotten oily the fastest. Initial application and colour is beautiful (the only foundation that matches me perfectly). I love that it just glides on and literally feels like nothing on the skin. But because it felt like nothing on the skin, I was shocked when I checked in the mirror and I was oily. It definitely transferred alot after blotting and I’m not nearly as oily as Nikkia (no shade). I would use it if I only needed makeup on quickly and for a short period of time. Also the formula didn’t melt in the compact either :) love the review!!

I have what I consider pretty oily skin. I’ve worn this on days I wasn’t really needing to wear a mask and just around family. I am an adamant setting powder and spray gal and this lasted and looked pretty good on me still at 9 hours of wear. I really think it depends on the person.

For what I've seen. The apple foundation works best for dry skin. It prefers a hydrating primer or it'll clump up on the face. It'd definitelycall it finicky.

I have oily skin too and love your recommendations. So glad I watched this before buying. I tried the urban decays stay naked the fix powered foundation and I love it. Even as my natural oils come through it still looks beautiful and doesn’t cake up :) although I haven’t worn it during the summer yet 😂

I have combo skin, but I live in a dry/desert climate and this lasted really well on my... I did notice that my texture was better when applied with a brush as the sponge almost seemed to apply too much foundation and you can apply too much of this one especially around the mouth and nose... I have very deep pores and texture from hormonal acne.
First of all that’s horrendous you had to pay that much to get it shipped out there to you! Even though I live in the US I know I would not be able to afford to pay that much to get a product shipped to me from another country so that’s a shame that other people in Australia who may actually be able to use this foundation may not be able to afford to ship it there so that’s a bummer. However I knew I was going to wait before I even did anything until I saw your foundation review for us oily combo skin girls ☺️ i’ve also heard a lot of influencers say that it didn’t work out for their skin and some of them had normal to dry skin. Thanks for always doing super honest reviews Nikkia💋💋
It seems all foundations act like that on my skin(oily). I've even tried some that you've recommended and they're the same. I haven't worn fountain for probably 17 years bc I can't find one that doesn't do that! It's powder only for me and there's only one that works ~sigh~ Thanks for another great review!
That’s disappointing that KVD won’t be launching this foundation in Australia. I don’t understand why a company would not launch here unless they have issues with getting an spf rating. I was devastated when NARS said their soft matte foundation wasn’t going to launch in Australia. But it was their loss because I ended up spending my money elsewhere and trying the Estée Lauder double wear and loving it.
I've herd it's a good like editorial photo type foundation. Like put it on take photos etc. Then take it off. Cause it breaks up cakes and transfers. It's beautiful for two or so hours.
Not much product in that pan for the price ... I was initially bummed when you said it’s not launching in Australia, until later in your review. Now I’m not so worried 😅 it’s a pass from me. Great review lovely 💜
A girl compared this one to a milani one and the milani looked better although she is not having oily skin so i am guessing these types of foundations might not be benevolent to our oily skin

This looked so nice and smooth on my first 4 hours but after that wasn’t great oils peaking through and by the end of the day it’s just not good my skin type is normal combo probably will returning 😕

Reviews I've seen hasn't been too good on this foundation. 😕 plus for the price point there are better foundations out there so definitely not wasting money on this one.

Unfortunately as an oily girl, I also had the same effect with the foundation. Separation and texturing. I have never had a foundation settle into lines on my forehead, under eye and smile lines. I also have never ever got oily on my chin area but it did and I know that’s from the foundation not my skin (its the driest area on my face). It’s also the only foundation I’ve tried where I’ve gotten oily the fastest.
Initial application and colour is beautiful (the only foundation that matches me perfectly). I love that it just glides on and literally feels like nothing on the skin. But because it felt like nothing on the skin, I was shocked when I checked in the mirror and I was oily. It definitely transferred alot after blotting and I’m not nearly as oily as Nikkia (no shade).
I would use it if I only needed makeup on quickly and for a short period of time. Also the formula didn’t melt in the compact either :) love the review!!

Oh and as to there being a small amount, you do NOT need as much as they use on TikTok at all! Small amount works great
I only used a small amount - it definitely goes a long way. It just didn’t stay looking great for very long on my skin haha🙊🙊

I have what I consider pretty oily skin. I’ve worn this on days I wasn’t really needing to wear a mask and just around family. I am an adamant setting powder and spray gal and this lasted and looked pretty good on me still at 9 hours of wear. I really think it depends on the person.

For what I've seen. The apple foundation works best for dry skin. It prefers a hydrating primer or it'll clump up on the face. It'd definitelycall it finicky.

I have oily skin too and love your recommendations. So glad I watched this before buying. I tried the urban decays stay naked the fix powered foundation and I love it. Even as my natural oils come through it still looks beautiful and doesn’t cake up :) although I haven’t worn it during the summer yet 😂

I have combo skin, but I live in a dry/desert climate and this lasted really well on my... I did notice that my texture was better when applied with a brush as the sponge almost seemed to apply too much foundation and you can apply too much of this one especially around the mouth and nose... I have very deep pores and texture from hormonal acne.

First of all that’s horrendous you had to pay that much to get it shipped out there to you! Even though I live in the US I know I would not be able to afford to pay that much to get a product shipped to me from another country so that’s a shame that other people in Australia who may actually be able to use this foundation may not be able to afford to ship it there so that’s a bummer. However I knew I was going to wait before I even did anything until I saw your foundation review for us oily combo skin girls ☺️ i’ve also heard a lot of influencers say that it didn’t work out for their skin and some of them had normal to dry skin. It seems all foundations act like that on my skin(oily). I've even tried some that you've recommended and they're the same. I haven't worn fountain for probably 17 years bc I can't find one that doesn't do that! It's powder only for me and there's only one that works ~sigh~ Thanks for another great review!

It would be far to thick for me, also the packaging seems quite fragile for a pricy product. The coverage looks very similar to the Huda Beauty one
That’s disappointing that KVD won’t be launching this foundation in Australia. I don’t understand why a company would not launch here unless they have issues with getting an spf rating. I was devastated when NARS said their soft matte foundation wasn’t going to launch in Australia. But it was their loss because I ended up spending my money elsewhere and trying the Estée Lauder double wear and loving it.
I've herd it's a good like editorial photo type foundation. Like put it on take photos etc. Then take it off. Cause it breaks up cakes and transfers. It's beautiful for two or so hours.

A girl compared this one to a milani one and the milani looked better although she is not having oily skin so i am guessing these types of foundations might not be benevolent to our oily skin

This looked so nice and smooth on my first 4 hours but after that wasn’t great oils peaking through and by the end of the day it’s just not good my skin type is normal combo probably will returning 😕
