    I am currently preparing an online school for Japanese language learners whose dream is to be able to speak Japanese. The school’s number one goal is to help people who are not confident in speaking Japanese learn to speak it well. We create memorable classes that resonate emotionally with students, so that when it’s time to speak, you will find yourself speaking naturally. The content of the class itself is created by a Japanese language teacher, myself, and a designer. Since I am not a professional Japanese language teacher, I thought it would be better to have a professional teach instead. The fee has not been finalized yet, but it will be about the same as other Japanese language schools.
    Classes will be offered every 3 months (1 term) starting next April. We are preparing 3 courses per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and 2 courses per week (Tuesday, Thursday) for 3 months.
    In order to maintain the quality of the classes, we, unfortunately, can not take many students in the beginning.
    So, if anyone is interested, please pre-register using the link below, as we are considering admitting students on a registration basis. This will help us understand if we need additional teachers.
    [pre-registration]
    forms.gle/ca45MKeYC3oWMh9Y6
    Also, if you are not interested, please let us know in the comments below what you would like to see us do in the future. We will try our best to do as much as we can. 😊
    ex. please come up with something free for non-school people, etc

    I made a Google form for pre-registering the new online school.
    You can see the details on the description of this video. Unfortunately, we can take only some students to keep the quality so if you're interested in that, I recommend you singing up for it. Also we want to do something for non-students too so if there's something you want us to do, please write it down below.

    I've been studying Japanese seriously for over a month now and can attest to the fact that memorizing whole sentences is indeed far more effective than learning one word at a time! Besides, you learn vocabulary AND grammar at the same time. Awesome content btw, got a new subscriber!

      確かにね。

    • @radekmojzis9829
      @radekmojzis9829 2 роки тому +12

      for me its not more effective... for me memorising a sentence is too trivial and just from seeing like 2 words i can immediately tell what the sentence means without actually knowing any of the "new" words in that sentence... this is especially true with kanji, and when the new words are taken out of context of the sentence i suddenly dont recognise them...
      but im absolutely fine with forcing my way through raw vocabulary with stuff like anki...
      and then for grammar i just use the same way i used to learn english - just consuming as much of the language as possible while trying to understand it

    • @harumi95
      @harumi95 2 роки тому +14

      @@radekmojzis9829 You have a point there! I guess it really depends on how you approach it...If you let your mind "on default", that will surely happen, but I try to train myself to pay close attention to each one of the words in the sentence every time. I study the grammar and the meaning of each word and see how they fit together. Then, you can try to come up with new sentences using vocabulary from previous sentences. Or you can take your sentences and create new ones by changing an element at a time.
      The problem with consuming as much of the language as possible as an absolute beginner is that hardly any material is comprehensible input. So, for me, is way too much unnecessary work and waste of time to try to understand things I'm not yet ready to understand.
      Now, my approach with kanji is different...I study them using "Study Kanji". I take a stack of kanji and memorize each kanji one at a time. As they get harder, I memorize words that include them and kanji I've already mastered. There are steps to mastering a kanji, so whenever a kanji I'm not learning yet shows up on my deck, I only learn to visually recognize it and leave mastering it for later.

    • @radekmojzis9829
      @radekmojzis9829 2 роки тому +2

      @@harumi95 yeah, i also figured that i will need a bunch o vocab and a bunch of grammar to be able to understand anything... thats why i just powered through a few of the most basic vocab anki decks, then watched a bunch of videos on grammar (if you asked me to talk i cant do it yet, but that will come eventually) but now im at a point where im able to disect simpler stuff - thats why im watching this video (btw, this guy is amazing :D)

    This is so true! I'm learning Chinese faster than ever now that I talk to my dog for an hour every day while we take our walk. I talk to him about everything we see or hear, everything he does, asking where he wants to go next, etc. I repeat my sentences a couple of times and make corrections as I go along. I look up words I didn't know when I get home and use them next time. If I have some other new words to learn, I make sure to work them into my conversation with him. I don't feel stupid because people can see I'm talking to the dog, not to myself, and the dog feels appreciated. And then when I get a chance to speak Chinese with a human, I'm amazed at how easy it is!

      Oh, so you mean you have bad vocabulary retention? You should try writing short stories or diary entries or something in Japanese --or if that isn't your thing, you should pick a topic and then try to talk about it for 1-2 minutes. Personally I like to talk about one topic while allowing myself to look up the words I can't remember the first time, and then I revisit that topic later and speak about it while not allowing myself to use a dictionary. I also like to record it so I can look back on the words I used later
      In my experience, the best way to improve your vocabulary retention is simply to give yourself more opportunities to use the vocabulary you learn.

    I'm currently learning Japanese through a college course and let me tell you. I could speak more Japanese than I do Spanish (which I took 4 years to study in high school).
    The biggest difference for me was that my Sensei would introduce the class to basic sentences/phrases for daily life. From there, we learn grammar AND vocabulary. Since we had to talk to classmates in breakout rooms in Zoom (she would check to see if we were actually doing work for participation points), the information was pretty much cemented in my brain. The second tip is SUPER helpful.

    Thank you Hitoki for these tips and putting subtitles in Japanese and other language at the same time, but also speaking in a calm way that we can understand what you say 💕 it helps a lot (I don't know if I wrote something wrong, sorry hahaha)

    小学5年生から日本語を始め、中学1年生になり、自分でN3試験に合格しました。
    I started Japanese in the 5th grade of elementary school, became the 1st grade of junior high school, and passed the N3 test by myself.
