- Pannier Tanks on the mainline is now considered a thing of past so I felt it prudent to compile the majority of our scenes that are worth watching and putting them all in one place so they can easily be viewed. At the time these scenes were captured there was only three mainline pannier tanks in operation and they were all looked after by Vintage Trains. West Coast Railways provided the drivers and without them and Vintage Trains this video wouldn't of been made possible !
All videos are captured between 2012 & 2017 across the Midlands.
I hope you enjoy the video.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 What a sight and sound these little engines are, galloping along the mainline! They must have been quite a sight in GWR /BR days! 😃😃
Absolutely superb. Brings back so many memories 😅😅😅
Until now I didn't know panniers were on the mainline in preservation. These were all absolutely cracking shots, some fabulous exhaust, lighting and sound. A double-header is always special, and I would really love to see this happen again. I wonder why it stopped.
That is my weekly fix of steam. As always superb photography
Panniers were always a favourite as a trainspotter in the 1950s at Slough.
Sooo good 💎 Love it 💙 Great video 📹 Thank you so much 👏
The Pannier was my favorite in the Hornby catalogue, which I read as a schoolboy in the 1970's
Very cool video and enjoyed watching. Have a wonderful upcoming Sunday. Steve
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 Awesome video!
What a shame that we never get to see a pannier tanks out on the mainline after 2017
Now that's one Chad of a tank engine
Great video as always😮😮😮😮😊
Thanks very much 😊😊😮
Super nice video :)
So nice videos
Any plans to get one or two back on the mainline?
WOW !
Wish they would come back or even come up north!
It is soooo long since I saw a Banker at speed. Great little power houses.
One of my films is about a return journey on the Cheltenham & Gloucester Railway behind one of these. Just click my graphic to see.
Perhaps this was discontinued because the Pannier Tank Engines had to stop for water more often than the tender engines. It would be good to see these cute machines on the main line again, but it's up to the owners what happens next. In any case....
Mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest steamy of them all?
