The climax of that 10cc joke was very gratifying 😏
Are you doing V.I.P experience in Australia for your February 2024 tour ??
@@stevieraywatson That's with The Darkness, keep an eye on their social media for those updates!
@@NinStardusthaha! Perfection!
@@NinStardust 🤣
I love Lenny. This sounds good. Nothing wrong with having a little Prince & INXS influence in there.
You have in Nine Inch Nails first album a lot.
Prince did point out Lenny's tune borrowings. We should all get the same pants for the next tour.
I agree sar! Wow.. so hot! 🔥
His 1st big hit "are you gonna go my way?" Sounds very like underrated guitarist Frank Merino song "The Answer!"
Michael Hatc - e' stato il frontman piu forte bello senuale carismatico bella voce - ascolto sempre la loro musica e michael lo amero" sempre ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember Zoe Kravitz talking about the embarrassment of having her Dad picking her up from school wearing a fishnet mesh shirt.
Awww…poor Zoe…
😂😂
@@aaronbickford8725😂
He's the only reason she has a movie career lol
Lenny kravitz wears fishnet shirts?
It’s quite interesting that it sounds like Prince. I believe one of his nicknames was ‘The Kid’ and he passed away on 4/21.
TK421. Quite a sweet coincidence x
Wow yeah, V interesting 🤔😯x
Prince adored Lenny Kravitz
I have to believe that was intentional and not a coincidence! Thanks for that info!
Lenny has made it abundantly clear so many times that Prince is a primary influence.
Justin Hawkins, I love that you are honest.
Says it how it is ✌🏻
Agree, bigtime INXS vibes here, which gets no complaints from me. LK must have an aging portrait in an attic somewhere, no lie. He looks insanely good.
Mr. Hawkins, loving your content!!! You're very talented. Keep up the great work!!!
Justin, thank you Justin for talking about "Let Love Rule" truly one of the coolest albums ever made! You're right, he played all the main instruments and it by far was the most organic album he ever made, a true gem that holds up just as strong today as it did in 89'
I think that he always plays all the instruments or the most of them during the recording of his albums.
For sure, let love rule was and is an all-time classic, he's never made another that organic since
I remember asking for that cassette for Christmas that year. I got it and listened to it over and over. That and a couple of years later was enamored of Matthew Sweet “Girlfriend”. Had a real thing for singer/songwriters playing all the instruments in their albums back then, I guess.
I remember the CD had a sticker attached to it, warning you that the sound quality was not up to the new standards of digital production, because he recorded it in his home studio with analog equipment.
@@stephgreen3070
I too am a huge Matthew Sweet fan, did you ever listen to his side project semi super group he made one album with a band they dubbed "The Thorns"? If not, look that album up it's killer stuff!
INXS came to my mind too, but wow!! Lenny knocks spots off the younger generation, not bad for 59 😘
Michael E ' stato il TOP ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Matt Berry in white cowboy boots is so on brand.
If Justin did a musical collab with Matt Berry (who is remarkably musical), it would make my year.
It's a very good idea. I learnt from his guitar lessons🤔
He did a great cover of the Rainbow theme song
White? How about silver cowboy boots?
@@kennycube5126I thought it was gold.
@@MarcosElMalo2 there's none left. Noel Fielding bought them all.
Of course... of COURSE you reference Matt Berry and What We Do In The Shadows because you are THE BEST, Justin.
Omg i love you! Hilarious, insightful..so fun to listen to!
came to your channel during lockdown mr.hawkins. always informative, funny and not afraid. thankyou for keeping me entertained. much love.
I’ve been listening to this song nonestop it’s great!
Brilliant analysis as always!!!!
Hi "Justin Hawkins rides again!" I live for your channel and hearing your theme music - it gives me life and i love to listen to it everyday! This was a great video and great reaction, i loved the things you pointed out too! It gave me a lot of giggles. you always make me laugh and I LOVE YOU! You're looking good too, btw. I'm so happy for you and that you'll be having a live show! Much props to you! Keep up the good work; youre my favorite youtube host!!! Love you always! xoxoxoxoxoxo😙🥰
TK421 is a Star Wars character from the original movies. But the lyrics do seem to be about his knob. Maybe his knob is 4.21 inches long? TK = The Knob 4.21 long. Hence TK421. It all makes sense. It's a rock anthem for modestly endowed men.
😂 Who knows. We do have mutual friends, but size hasn’t been discussed.
💯. The lyrics are clearly about his ding dong. So if it is not a size admission the other way to read it would be that TK421 was the character who abandoned his post and wasn't serving properly...may be an admission to impotence.
😂😂😂😂👍👍👍
Or it’s 42.1cms.
@@jujutrini8412 , or 421mm?
My favorite daily ritual...JHRA! ❤
mine too! can’t start the day without it😀
Brilliant Musician and a Brilliant video done at his Mansion in Paris 👊🏿
I was introduced to LK’s music while at college in 91. A lo fi revelation to this unassuming leviathan of a spotty rock god. Art school natch. Always love a little LK who delivers always and gave me that pseudo enigmatic cool I was always aspiring to 😂
Justin you a legend! Always loved your music and style. Keep on rockin
Agree, it needs a big "Ugh" and you're the man for the job x
SOOOO GLAD to hear you're a lenny kravitz fan!
That guitar zravitz is playing in the vid, used to belong to Chuck Berry and was loaned to him by Matt's Guitar Store as its currently for sale at a crazy price!
I just want to say I love your channel and as a musician you inspire me to play everyday again! I was in the musicians drought for a while thanks Justin you’re the best!!!
Someone needs to contact that guy who does the "What Makes This Song Stink?" videos. We have yet another contender for the Kravitz Bowl!
My mind works a lot like yours. Thank you Justin Hawkins.
Saw Lenny open for The Cult at the Los Angeles Forum. Fantastic show from both bands!
Love it! I'm a sucker for Sub bass. Nice mix too.
Peddling on an E "we've all been there...welll not for" 🤣🤣🤣
TK421 - UGH! I can't unhear it now. It really needs it.
I saw him play live the summer of 2000 or 2001, on Long Island. His opener was P!nk. What an amazing show. He was born 15 days after me in the same year (1964), but we look like two different species. :-D
Good day to you, Justin... i love that new single. Funky, dancy, catchy... seems something from the 70s Motown stuff. Amazing.... Ehy buddy... -12 days to Milan... i cant even sleep. See you soon... on the ice!😂❤🤘
Laszlo Cravensworth!
Justin Dude!!!! Your right, that synth bass kicks ass. The sub harmonics are to die for. I have a software version of the Korg MS-20. That's what it sounds like. Will Gregory of Goldfrapp used the MS-20. But the software version is Polyphonic. Up to 16 voices. Now after hearing that, I'm gonna do some sound design. LOVE your channel brother!
My first thought was the song reminded me of Prince, but you are spot on re INXS as well.
May I request for you to write a song entitled "HUH!" You have mastered the expression.
TK421 is a stormtrooper's call sign in the first Star Wars movie. 🤣
Lenny Kravitz can do whatever he fucking wants. He's that good.
I saw him in London when I was living over there in the late 90s, great show. I wasnt a massive fan before i went but man I was after.
You're absolutely right! Uggh!!!😂
It's a stormtrooper. I'll jog your memory. "TK421 - Why Aren't You at Your Post?"
lol at the various pauses and references :D
Cool song man. That's going into rotation 🤘
Justin your humor is fantastic!! I'm dying laughing!!
Thanks to the UA-cam algorithm that brought me here! I really enjoyed this video and your humour. 😊 Major Lenny Kravitz fan by the way.
Glad to hear saxophones coming back to rock music. Last one I heard was from the AMH band's "Love is on my wishlist". Cute christmas song btw
Also on The Rolling Stones' Hackney diamonds track, Get Close, an awesome moment!
This is more funk than rock
You should check out Miasma by Ghost, it's got a great full on sax solo.
Black Country, New Road and Black Midi are some of the best band right now, featuring saxophones a ton
TBH Justin I came to your channel for Ren, but I stayed for your hi jinx 😂thanks for the fun and musical knowledge..
He started off as 'Romeo blue'. Prince has always been a massive influence. His early albums, there was no denying his influences. Not only in note choices and song structure, all the way up to circus but how those albums were recorded. '5' and on he went to outer space, and took his sly stone influence to the year 3000.
Prince and Lenny... mutual love and respect. 💜
Looking forward to the Now and Then review.
I’m bingeing your videos right now, but have to step away for a bit to watch this Lenny video 😘
You were on one today! Full of jokes so funny
Thanks you made my day the 10cc was great
Looove Lenny! Looove Justin! Cheers!
Mr Hawkins, has your coffee consumption increased in the last two videos? You are on fire! I’m loving it😂❤
also…we haven’t had an “Ere!” in a while…so glad it’s back😁
Always fun to watch Justin's views on a fav artist. Btw Justin PLEASE consider coming to Greece for a concert with the Darkness, I would highly appreciate it😊
Ahhh Greece 😍
Remember if he doesn't come to do the show you want take comfort in the fact you live in Greece, you lucky person
Justin Fucking Hawkins Rides Againnnnnnn!!! 🎸🤟🏽💯😊
Loved the Tommy Steele intro guvner 😆👍
Lmfao "peddling an E we've all done it "
I am obsessed with that Adidas top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
deffo inspired by prince and the mineapolis sound so funky !!!
Thanks. I hadn’t heard this song.
Man, Tom G. Warrior's "ugh"-man succeeded pretty well, u can do it !
I remember seeing Lenny at the Aerosmith toxic twins ball at Wembley stadium - and he won over every single person in that crowd with Let Love Rule. One of the greatest acts of musicianship and showmanship I’ve witnessed
Only just now did I finally realize Star Wars helmets look so much like bell ends - thank you mr hawkins!!
0:38 😂 brilliant version of your theme intro
Thank you for the 10CC quote.
Hello from Minneapolis ... love how you love music
His body is the storm trooper … he is the soul operating it
“Peddling on an E…we’ve all been there” 😂
Every day is about you, you are so busy, gigs, rides again and next year…festivals, congratulations 🎉🎉🎉, see you on the ice…Berlin, coming soon…5 days to go ❤
What does “see you on the ice” mean? When I hear that, I think of ice hockey.
See you out there…ie on tour…
Gosh JH, love your cheeky humour, hats off to you, your work ethic is so impressive, aren't you on tour as well?
Nice one
Love this it has an Eddie Grant feel Electric Avenue poelple guy box
Great video Justin....I miss Prince...but Lanny is fantastic, so cool, love the song , yes a bit INSX here....
That rythym guitar outro is totally Prince.
For sure. As a musician myself I understand influences popping up but... I think LK could've tried harder, honestly. Cory Wong is light years ahead. If you know his stuff then you know where I'm coming from.
Hey Justin! I hadn’t heard the new LK album. This song is great! Love it! Definitely hear the INXS and Prince vibes. Very funky. ❤
I was lucky enough to see Lenny in concert years ago when he opened for the Cult. It was a phenomenal show by both of them. 👍
He opened for the Cult? Crazy!
Lovin' this episode and I've not watched it yet 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
✌️...😎
don’t we all just automatically give each episode a thumbs up before watching?
@@jenjen81That's true😂
@@jenjen81, Yes, even if I don’t like the music/band that Justin is discussing.
U R probably right.
We've come a long way
Suicide Blonde! I also thought of the break in U2's Mysterious Ways
Made me laugh today, thanks Justin I needed that 😂
Lenny Kravitz is such a rock star.
This has just reminded me that TK MAXX 2 4 1 offer is available on selected pants and socks. Thanks Justin.
Lenny Kravitz has been my favourite human being and artist since 1990 or so. ❤ him so much. And I've seen him live 5 times...always amazing.
Your favorite human being? Lol
The burning sax sounds like the same guy who played on Jagger’s Sweet Thing from 1993’s Wandering Spirit which is possible as Lenny kravitz sang Use Me with jagger on the record.
sounds like a sample of "Kiss" especially the end.
Yep… I said the same thing
Saludos desde guatemala !!!
The TK-41 was the first color television camera invented by RCA.
Good video Justin. Can we expect a new darkness album soon?
Nice one Justin! I agree the UHs are necessary. Also how are your sax skills?
Mr. Hawkings thank you for your content and greetings from Finland yeahhh! Have you ever made a video of history of your guitars and equipment and how has it changed over the years?
Lenny is THE man.
The synth also sounds like Lovelight as covered by Robbie Williams.
The UGH is how I end everything. It's just funky.
Sounds like suicide blonde by INXS like exactly like it
“Pedaled on an E” joke was 😂😂
Woof!
Tk421 is also referenced in the movie boogie night. Clip is on UA-cam.
Lenny is fire
yes
