In 2021, Peace Corps celebrates 60 years of international peace, friendship, volunteerism, and service. On March 1, 1961, President John F. Kennedy signed an executive order that established the Peace Corps. Since then, 241,000 Americans have served in more than 140 nations around the world.

Yes, it was the toughest job I ever loved, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But, I'd like to know that what we learned during service overseas is being translated into progress for peace in our world today. Our national obsession for military conquest does not help.
