Hi, I am a year 11 student. Currently my subjects are English, Maths Advanced, Chemistry, Information and Processes Technology and Information and Digital Technology. On 1st week of term 1 I decided that I want to study medicine, for that I need an ATAR of at least 99. I like all the subjects I am doing but I am a bit scared about Chemistry and I want to change it to Industrial Technology Timber. Can you please tell me what things should I do from now to get into medicine? And if any of these subjects will hold me back from getting an high ATAR or getting into medicine.

Hi Dineth thank you soo much!!! for -----helping me with your previous medical experiences. I have a question, is there any medicine pre requisites for atar on chemistry and advanced english as im in year 11 right now and i do neither of those and only do advanced maths, standard english, economics, biology, buisness studies and software. Im really, really concerned whether i would be considered to fulfilled the pre requisites. It would mean soooo much to me if you guys answer my question. thank you.
Not that I know of, but best to do some own research by looking at the uni websites :)
hi can you make a video about scholarships in mbbs for international students in australian med universities
I love your video so much!!!
What are options for graduate courses ?
Like after bachelor of bio medicine
Please advise here in Australia as well as overseas degrees, after which one can practice in Australia
Thanks so much for all the info. As a paranoid mom, it really helps me how I can help my son prepare.
This video is very informative and thank you for making this. Nevertheless, it's not complete with an indication of cost of tuition and living expenses in each universities. Could you cover this as well?
Could you make a video on how the residency works in Australia?
Thank you for making this video. My daughter is keen to do medical school. Just wanna ask how did you pass your Ucat? Self study or did you have a tutors/mentors😊
Hey Dineth, a video on the GAMSAT would be great! I've read on a few uni sites that require applicants to have a score of 50+ . Is this difficult to achieve?
its not too difficult, the average is ~60 for each section and if u have a science background i dare say you could probably get higher than 50 without even preparing, although that score won't really be competitive and you should look to get closer to 70s for each section
@@miniblitz3971 what if your GPA for the degree isn't too good had plenty of Cs and bs few ds?
@@kichw oh, i was replying to their question about GAMSAT scores, but i think there are some ways to increase your GPA after uni - you can do honours to boost it AND get rid of your first year scores. On top of this, depending on your experiences (for example if you worked in a healthcare setting as a nurse or pharmacist or smth) or if you've done a PHD some unis offer bonus points when applying and that might be something to look towards to boost your scores. Although, the most obvious answer would prbably be just cram until you smash the gamsat and that can compensate.
rn i’m in my first year of high school i’ll edit this if i get into medicine.
nice!
I’m in year 8 and i want to be a cardiovascular surgeon wish me luck!!
Hello Shane, I have GPA under 5. That’s 4.7 for my bachelor of nursing. Is it a good idea to start prep for GAMSAT
It would be really kind of u if u could explain in detail about GAMAT n scoring n how GPA /WAWis calculated in Australian university for PG

Hey dude, I am currently a student in year 9 and would like to pursue a career in medicine ; however, am completely oblivious on what to study. I was wondering what time you started to prepare for medicine (UCAT + HSC), and what types of books you started to study. When you began your preparation what did you do , and how did it evolve from there. I look forward from hearing back.
Kind Regards
Kris
hey wondering if you figured it out
Can you live in australia. But then move to another country to get your medical certificate, then move back to australia? Or no?

@@sandeephey then you need to get a bachelor degree and apply to med as a postgraduate. You can take a bridging course to get into uni
