Omg I really appreciate you checking this out! And thanks for the shoutout. I think you both understood the video and song quite well, yes there is absolutely a sadness to this. But indeed- they don't give up, and they didn't. They're now ranked higher than the US in terms of democracy (the US is I think at place 29 or 30 now, just 1 spot above Israel while Taiwan is ranked 10th place). But yes- they had to struggle to get there, and they still face many challenges, like the constant threat of invasion and the fact that many do not consider them a country (even though, in all definitions of the word country, it definitely is one lol).
