I've dubbed 2024 The Ricky Redemption Tour. I've watched SLM racing for most of my life, and have liked many different guys over the years, but never really had a favorite. Until this past summer. Now it's all RTJ all the time for me. Silly season and ride-swapping are just part of the climate in all of racing, although I can't recall ever seeing an actual points-leader getting shitcanned before (after almost lapping the field at Lernerville). Burns dumping Thornton for his boy, "Huddy", just really irked me. I don't know the inside scoop. Lots of moving parts no doubt, but the way he did it just seemed kind weasly. Like what Sean McVay did to Jared Goff, and with a similar result. Bottom line: It lit a fire under Ricky's ass. "Yank my ride, will ya? Well watch this Motherf***er." Now, two championships later, here we are, and it's been beautiful to watch.
True, but there’s certainly more to it considering the recent conclusion to their partnership. Regardless, RTJ was being extremely dramatic not only about the incidents / contact but the claims of damage and it’s effects on the car that run. Neither the nose nor the LF really hurt that car. His temper had more to do with his performance then anything. He ran down madden twice and wasted it on failed attempts to retaliate rather then setting up to take position. Certainly didn’t drastically upset the air with nose damage and LF toe didn’t cripple rotation that bad. Besides running hard on the RF bump guys have experimented a ton with static and dynamic Ackerman on that corner with numbers as crazy as 1”+. Not ideal but didn’t hurt enough to make a massive difference. Over dramatic. Someone made a good comment: RTJ wouldn’t have made it just a decade ago. They’re not wrong. Guys are soft at that tier today.

A similar situation happened when Madden drove for Bruening Motorsports(Tyler Bruening's Dad) Madden got into a heated discussion with Greg Bruening saying something to the effect of .. I'm not here to babysit your kid & the 2 parties went their separate ways. Madden has done this stuff before I believe he's trying to undermine Thornton & take that ride.I doubt that the R.G. Smith ride is long term & Madden is doing just that, trying to get a full time ride. If I were Kohler Motorsports I'd give Greg Bruening a call & ask him what he thinks of Chris Madden!! Danny W
Madden had a similar team up with bloomquist. If anyone remembers, Madden had an issue and teamed with bloomer and drove a second car for him. Bloomer was running strong at the time. Madden teamed up with him and left abruptly and took the Dryden sponsor with him. The relationship with bloomer was soured and you never see or hear of them together again. Madden is a user. Smooth talker. Any relationship he has with fellow racers often ends on the wrong terms.
I believe you need to do some research on that,, madden was the one that got the dryden spoonership,, and if you remember madden dominated when he teamed up with bloomquest,, he won like 5 or 6 Crown Jewel races, and I remember seeing them together at a couple races the next year and they was just chopping it up like to old friends,, I don’t think there was no hard feelings between them,, they didn’t act like it when I seen them together,, hell he drove for bloomquest in the early 2000s , and went on his on after the first time he drove for Scott,

I think you may be remembering things a bit wrong... Bloomquist was only running "so-so" still suffering numbness in his leg from motorcycle accident. They had been friends prior, going back to 2005 when Madden first got one of his cars. Madden was invited to come in and drive a 2nd Team Bloomquist car and immediately started winning numerous "Crown Jewel" events and the pairing lasted almost a year... Towards the end the team was struggling with DNF's, part failures and a lack of help and funding to stay competitive, not to mention personality clashes and rumors of prescription drug problems effecting the work environment. Won Cedar Lake for $50K, North-South for $60K, Topless $50K(Total), National 100, World Finals Prelim, Blue-Gray 100, Vado 2020 and many other good runs. Somewhere in the middle Madden broke an eye socket as well. GR Smith should not have been able to race or have cars period with the stupid crap he pulled in Florida last year. Ashton Winger is just as bad also. Madden with this combination together they will be lots of equipment destroyed in the upcoming races.

I used to race. Those fights are always a joke, a bunch of talk and screamin' and holding people back. Never gets out of control. Was always a fun time. Most racers can't throw a punch. Lol
@johnb8097 they used to haul drivers to jail for fighting here in Southern Indiana. I drove late models here in the 80's. There were plenty of fighting in the pits, and a few in the stands. I miss the good old days!
Didn’t Madden sell his hauler to KM for RTJ? You reckon Madden got some secrets and or setup info and hit the road? More to this and I’m sure it benefits Madden. Aka the weasel. 😂😂

Dude may have some “connections”, or know some crew guys in the pits, but regurgitation of anything from that dope fiend is just pitiful. Basically anything dirt related on UA-cam is hearsay from a methonite, or a copy and paste of whatever story posted to dirt on dirt.

so any altercation makes good video for viewers, not sure why any promoter would put 2 guys together that obviously had a problem during the race just for the photo shoot. seems like if you aren't trying to instigate you would keep them apart. what i see is those that make videos and the media and now the promoters are willing to create fights to get fans.
Podium photos are standard in the industry. This 200% wasn’t orchestrated for entertainment purposes. That’s just a silly notion. Especially wit this track, the timing of this event and the series ran. There’s no worthy upside to validate a conspiracy. Plus there’s better ways to stimulate drama. This is organic behavior.
RTJ was being hyperbolic and over dramatic about the damage. Which was clear by his ability to run down madden agin on two separate occasions where he failed to execute the two different retaliatory attempts. The damage to the nose wasn’t enough to really kill the aero, in fact (slight) concave damage often improves it. [why the rules forbid it] It’s a common excuse used today when ever there’s small nose contact. The RF toe out isn’t that big of a deal either and we’ve seen plenty of guys continue to dominate a race with more LF damage. It actually created additional Ackerman. In the old days guys focused a ton on added Ackerman on that corner due to the shorter inner radius of the corner. Although not ideal it’s not the end of the run. Guys do the same thing with bump, claim that the damage threw off bump which ended their run which is completely and totally delusion. He was just Pιssed from what ever bad blood, the contact the night prior and the incidents that night. Ironically, RTJ has pulled off sliders that’s taken the air of guys noses in the past so hard he fenced them.

They both are very good drivers. I hope they get thing sorter out. Kind of like RTJ and Davenport earlier in the year.
