G's BACKLIGHTING > MODE > AUTO is determined by the GPS time. Unfortunately GARMIN doesn't have a clue what the lighting conditions are where you are. I work in the (dark) jungle areas of VietNam, so my needs are different. China has a single official time zone but based of 15 degree increments it needs 5 or 6 time zones. They could have put a single component light sensor that controls back-lighting, whilst saving money and making AUTO more useful. The Garmin product shows me driving on Highway 1A (Ha Noi-Ho Chi Minh City [SaiGon]) 15 miles out to sea. But are we surprised? Hell, no, it's a Garmin! Great video, bite size tips are way better than the whole damn thing at once.
Hi Daklak, I agree Garmin mapping is not the greatest. Have you tried other mapping software (micro sd card). Here in the states we have Onyx Mapping which in my opinion is the best you can get. Thanks for the comments - appreciate it.
March 2023 : I forget how to get rid of the pink line (route on ?) and a white arrow comes up to show direction turns ? How to get rid of that ? Thanks
The pink line indicates you selected a route to follow. Not sure what the white arrow is. Normally the arrow is blue, unless you have changed its color.
@@kenrodonets3296 Then you need to stop your current navigation. If you select the 'Find' button a screen will display asking whether you want to continue on the current navigation or stop. Select 'Stop Navigation' and the pink line will go away.
I recently bought a 64st. I’m using Duracell rechargeable AA batteries. The batteries say precharged NiMH on them and that is the setting I am using, but after just 1hr and 40m I am down to 1/2 battery strength. The batteries were fully charged going in to the unit. What am I doing wrong?
Hi there, I normally used regular AA batteries. I know you can use rechargeable in these devices. I have only tested the difference between alkaline and regular and changing the battery setting and there was no difference in usage. Normally a battery drain would be due to the conditions you are in. Let's say you are hiking and the general wispy clouds. Remember when you GPS is on, there is a constant signal from you to the satellite and the signal has to work its way through the clouds to the satelitte. The same would be true during a rain or snow storm. Also, you position makes a difference - walking in a open area its great vs walking deep in canyon with overhanging rock faces. I hope this helps out....

ONE THING that would help is a video to detail the functions of ALL GARMIN APPS for Android.
Thanks.
I am working on that...hopefully soon I will have them out!!!

Did you figure it out?
DID YOU select the correct BATTERY TYPE in the (Garmin) menu? Makes a big difference.
In italiano no eh.
