From watching videos like these, I've invested a few grand in tools and over the last 3 years, I can do pretty much all the nessacery work on my car now. My car is 15 years old and purrs like a kitten !
Great video man, doing a clutch on a lift is actually a piece of cake.Hats off to you doing it on the ground it's a different kettle of fish as I got older I feel like a cripple for a week after working on the ground!
did one few hours ago. I wouldnt say, that it was peace of cake. We didint wanted to drop the subframe down, (because of not wanting to pour coolant out), AND it took us a lot of maneovring to take that gearbox out of the car... and it was 2.2 diesel..
Another great job mate! I've got a clutch and flywheel replacement on a 2009 2.0 diesel C5 next week this video has helped me massively to prepare, I'm now mobile too, I would imagine mine being easier than this one as I don't have that annoying bolt behind the dpf to worry about but apart from that I will lower subframe in same way and not remove the aluminium front subframe just move the gearbox across like you Got a nice easy mk 5 golf gearbox 1.9 tdi to do on Friday a lot easier than this job! Thank you once again and keep up the great work 👏
@@WMCS what's the secret. I'm in the middle of a 3008 and watched this vid and the 3008 one. Looks like you had loads of room on the 3008 but mine is the same as this was before the magic. Did you just bend the bracket out if the way?

By God no , I've had enough dirt in my eyes to fill a few potholes from that, I'm very posh now adays a lift and a wash before I go at it, must do my own grand Picasso soon hence finding this video, an old timer once told me a mechanics car will never be fixed, I don't disagree with him 😆
Fantastic video, did my 407 and a couple of moments in this video really helped figure some things out on removal. One issue i'm left with is the drivers side inner drive shaft support bearing must have got damaged as making noise now. It took a lot of force to get it out of the lower engine mount and similar energy to get it back in so I probably damaged the outer bearing by accident. I see you tightening the U shaped retainer clip on that bearing, but how is this bearing meant to be pressed back into the engine mount when already on the drive shaft, there just seems to be no access to hit the inner bearing race or room for any sort of tool to press it either? Thanks.
This a really great video. I have my citroen 5, 2013 clucth replaced, but Im having prblem changing gear in steep inclination. Tha car slows down. Can you tell me What it could be?
Hi, very good job! I will be replecing cluth in my C5 hydro. After watchig your film it looks simpler than I thought. Could you plase let me know what suspesion position to adjust? Max or low? Tkank you.
hi Kevin you are awesome your extraordinary work you are really very strong in France we watch videos with continuous admiration like that but we have them in your eyes Kevin I have a question how do you do to undo the screw which is right in front of the screw that holds the FAP thank you can tell me the technique because we do not see very well
jp bahmed thanks for the review. That bolt is quite a tricky one. So without having to remove the exhaust. You have to remove one of the bolt from the bracket on the gearbox side. Then use a 13mm ring spammer to crack the bolt. After removing all gearbox bolt and you start pulling the gearbox away slowly undo the bolt as you pull the gearbox apart. Hope that makes sense.
@@WMCS hi Kevin I did not understand everything because my English is not perfect. how exactly do you undo the screw which is right in front of the FAP. breaks the head of the screw holding the box. or just by unscrewing the screw which holds the FAP support you have the place to undo the screw which holds the box
Hi, can this be done on a 407 1.6hdi without dropping the subframe. I'm struggling to pull the big subframe to chassis bolt which is just turning with a crunching noise.
