My daughter at 1yo got on the bus with me in Ann Arbor at a stop on the trip to the Smithsonian in maybe ‘97 or so. She is still on the bus! I was long before her ✌️

'THE springs and the shock absorbers are terrible and the freaking grinding straining motor shakes it to pieces and hulking vibrations synched in to no creature on earth...' 🤣

Its amazing to think that, this was in what?, 64?, its all still pretty run of the mill, grey and boring, then along comes this bus, this arrowhead of the 60s, the surface of what was to come, like a load of guys arriving to a party too early. And yet there they were, tearing across America in this multicolored bus -- people must of been blown away by it. Some incredible things have happened in America, and people say the 60s weren't all that good... i never believe them.

Absolutely. There's this footage of the bus Furthur slicing it's way on a sunny morning street in a still gray American small town. Many pranksters were playing the flute on the bus' roof. People were smiling at the bus but what I noticed from that video and the reason I'm writing this was a family crossing the zebra, the youngest kid looked up in wonder at the pranksters on their colourful bus, only for a second before his arm was yanked by his mother, who probably dismissed the whole thing in that second. The 60's ended just like that arm pull, with a dry command to look forward and being told to think about being an achiever.

@@biginjapan89 Yeah, i like a quote that Alan Watts said its kind of long but he basically said that life is just to be alive and everybody's running around in a panic trying to achieve something beyond themselves.

@@irishelk3 dude it was so weird now that I look back. It was just before the show started. I went on and walked to the back. Ken Kesey was standing there. I was like 20 years old. I spoke to him for a minute. Back then I didn’t even know the significance of it. I was just following the crowd basically. When I watched this I was like no way. I remember that bus! 🤣

Last I read Ken Kesey’s bus “Furthur” (it was originally misspelled) was sadly rotting away on a farm in Oregon.

Driving the bus around curvy mountain roads is insane behavior. No other words to describe it, he's lucky he didn't kill many people.

He had a sixth sense. There’s many reported instances of him doing some crazy ass driving with no incidents, and if you’d believe it, most of the time he was sober. Or at least a few hours in to whatever he was doing 😂

one big psychotic pumpkin.....Poncho Pillow should be glad he was off the bus! But I wasn't happy:: He was living at a Kesey Acid Test house, Medway Forest, near Skylonda, in the late 60's and ya met him you knew why he was off the bus. But it was safer that way.....
