Mr Zane. I met you and your brother in Eugene in 82. Always much love to you and your family. I wanted to say that I have always held that meeting in very high regard in my life. !! And I will never forget Mr Jed. Forever in peace.

Read wiki furthur..... Yes, May 18th is when it blew its top off. But Wiki also states this: At 7:05 p.m. on June 12, a plume of ash billowed 2.5 miles (13,000 ft; 4.0 km) above the volcano. At 9:09 p.m. a much stronger explosion sent an ash column about 10 miles (53,000 ft; 16 km) skyward.[48] This event caused the Portland area, previously spared by wind direction, to be thinly coated with ash in the middle of the annual Rose Festival.[49] A dacite dome then oozed into existence on the crater floor, growing to a height of 200 feet (61 m) and a width of 1,200 feet (370 m) within a week.
Hey Now Zane!!! If you somehow see this, a longer version of this exists with footage of the band and family hanging and jerry laying on his back at some point. Maybe just maybe you can find this longer version. Happy Holidays!
Unfortunately the musical piece never happened. At one point Garcia commissioned Tom Davis (Al Franken's comedy partner at the time) to write a screenplay for the Vonnegut novel "The Sirens of Titan" but it came to a similar end.
