One of the best songs on this album in my opinion is The Only Living Boy in New York. One of Paul Simon's best ever songs. So that would be a good song to react to 😊
Sweet! Did you notice the key modulations throughout the song? The vocal parts in places evoke the Doo Wop of Dion & The Belmonts too. Great vocal harmonies are a through line in Paul Simon's work. For another taste of that, check out "Loves Me Like a Rock" from 1973. And for a taste of Dion & The Belmonts, check out "I Wonder Why", "A Teenager in Love", and "Where or When", along with many others.
Paul decided to join the Beach Boys for this number. Seriously though, Paul was criticized for writing so many serious songs early in his career. He made an attempt to lighten up to prove he could do it. Their song, Feelin' Groovy, is another one in this lighter vein.
This is probably the song of theirs most like their first incarnation as teenage rockers Tom and Jerry. "The Only Living Boy in New York" is a classic of theirs you haven't hit yet, as is the hippy anthem "59th Street Bridge Song"... for Paul solo, try "Loves Me Like a Rock".
Songs I suggest: "Cloudy" (1966) "I Am A Rock" (1966) "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" (1966) "Keep the Customer Satisfied" (1970) "El Condor Pasa (If I Could)" (1970) "So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright" (1970) "My Little Town" (1975)

Right on. Art is rightfully known for his beautiful voice but I don't think that Paul gets enough credit. He really shines on this one.
Loved this as a child listening to my parents albums. Me and my sister would dance to it. Cheers.
The same, this album in the soundtrack of my childhood.
Hell, yes. I haven't heard this in decades! What a great tune.
