Paulie is correct… QM2 has a stronger hull and is the only Ocean Liner. I did the Great Australian Bight on the QM2! It was awesome. QM2 just glides through the waves.

100% agree with you Carole. Pay the staff a proper wage and do away with the additional gratuities. If you want to tip extra then you can. It’s as if the cruise lines think staff have to be incentivised in order to do a proper job. It’s demeaning and patronising. It has got so bad that I am now put off sailing with the likes of Celebrity and Royal and will lean towards lines such as P&O who include it.
Yeah, we prefer those that include it too! Not sure if it’s a cultural thing but we just like it being upfront and honest from the start.
I think it is a cultural thing. My husband always gets the tips removed and then we tip in cash directly. His argument is that those who tip are subsidising those who don’t and so he refuses to join in with the system. I just hate the awkwardness and so lean towards cruise lines where the tips are included.
Question with sea sickness why didn’t you have problems on the Croatian cruise or were you close to shore??
The sea was just calmer, the bay of biscay, the canaries/madeira and as Carole said the south of Australia are notorious for being more choppy.
You do sort of hug the coastline sailing Croatia too unless of course you cross over to Venice etc
@@CruiseMonkeys Thanks sea sickness motion sickness interests me because I have been on 2 ferries The bigger one was on the ocean and I did fine but was positive that the other one was going to sink with me in a sea of puke 🤮
