How many people (watching this in 2021) are shocked and amazed by how many of these questions and the answers to them would be just as applicable today as they were in 1983?
I used to be a panelist for Family Feud. I was one of the "we surveyed the top 100 people" I was one of them! It was done with joy and there was no pay back then. It came by paper sheets and you mailed it back in. :)
TV has never been the same after these people and their shows are gone from the landscape... Fortunately, the Family Feud theme has survived the test of time... I love that theme being a fan of movie & TV soundtracks...
Yes He was my favorite too. I had a kid crush on Jim Perry back then. I thought he was soo dreamy haha. I use to watch his game shows Sale of the Century and Concentration just to see him while I played with my barbie dolls during the summer. The 80s were Great times.

Yes, he did so in his very brief run on Chain Reaction, and also on Child's Play to walk a very short distance to his podium. Otherwise, he wasn't shown on camera walking, which was evident when he was a contestant on Password Plus/Super Password, Match Game/Hollywood squares hour, or any of the pyramids (Including his hosted $25,000 version, and the Dick Clark version which was his final TV appearance).
I met him when I was like 6. I was in the audience for Family Feud and won a door prize that he presented to me. He asked me where I was from. I said "California" and that got a good laugh from Gene and the crowd. Very nice man.

All good, wholesome questions? With answers like "Make Love" (11:10), "Good Lover?" (27:45) "[Nervous Learning] "Sex" (54:30), and "Has Affair?" (1:32:57)? And those are just references to sex (and using euphemisms for sex doesn't change the fact that it's about sex -- even though they STILL USED THE WORD). There were also references to drug and alcohol use throughout the show this week (and regularly throughout the show's history). And let's NOT get into how a host kisses women he's not involved with on the lips...
The crazy thing is when they were talking about what children fear and one of them was fear of dying and he said there is 11 of us fearing that right now Betty White lived on for another 40 years or so wow miss her dearly ❤️🎈💯👑 what a queen on Earth

According to Adam's book for Gene Rayburn, the latter was invited to play, as a sort of "no personal feelngs" towars him for quitting Match Game on a sour note, but Gene declined.
I kind of thought that's what happened, because Gene surely would have been there if Richard wasn't the host. I read that things got quite bad, on the set of Match Game. I don't know why Richard became so bitter, but it was hard to watch him and not want to slap him up side the head, for acting like a petulant child.
I know that a lot of people love Richard but I don't think he could hold a candle to Gene. Richard thought far more of himself than he actually really encompassed. While on match game, he was a wonderful compliment to Gene and the show but he began to think he could do a much better job than gene and in doing so, he hurt the match game and gene. I didn't really like him on the feud. He seemed to change entirely after taking on that show. And I don't blame gene for refusing to appear on family feud with him.
Watching the match game episodes now ,knowing what I know now...Gene Rayburn had lots of class,and Richard was a smuck.if you watch Hogan's Heroes,you can see how he thought he was all that on that show as well.

Remember, all of the pilots of "The Joker's Wild" were produced by Goodson-Todman Productions even though it was Barry that created TJW. (Jack Barry worked for G-T.) After CBS decided to pick up TJW as well as TPIR (both debut on 9/3/1972), CBS insisted to have Bob Barker host the daytime TPIR instead of Dennis James but was reluctant to have Barry in front of the camera Jack Barry; thus Barker offered to host TJW instead of TPIR. Eventually, CBS folded and allowed Barry to host TJW and both shows did well until TJW was cancelled by CBS in 1975 (and returned in first-run syndication in 1977).
Who'd be the teams if they did this on the Harvey Feud more recently: Pat Sajak New J! @Jeepman89 Because he's hosted Deal or No Deal and a judge on AGT? You could probably get rid of a few of the "moonlighting actors" and go with some GSN hosts I suppose. But, overall, interesting how today there are very few what we'd call "career hosts" like in the 60s-80s.

I don't know why Richard became so bitter, but it was hard to watch him and not want to slap him up side the head, for acting like a petulant child.
I was wondering why Gene wasnt here. Didnt realize he and richard didnt get along
I know that a lot of people love Richard but I don't think he could hold a candle to Gene. Richard thought far more of himself than he actually really encompassed. While on match game, he was a wonderful compliment to Gene and the show but he began to think he could do a much better job than gene and in doing so, he hurt the match game and gene. I didn't really like him on the feud. He seemed to change entirely after taking on that show. And I don't blame gene for refusing to appear on family feud with him.
Watching the match game episodes now ,knowing what I know now...Gene Rayburn had lots of class,and Richard was a smuck.if you watch Hogan's Heroes,you can see how he thought he was all that on that show as well.
Great fun to watch these guys!

It's possible they were. Maybe they were asked and weren't available or just didn't have any interest in doing so.
@@LouieKaboom could also be some bitterness between Mark Goodson and Jack Barry. Remember, all of the pilots of "The Joker's Wild" were produced by Goodson-Todman Productions even though it was Barry that created TJW. (Jack Barry worked for G-T.) After CBS decided to pick up TJW as well as TPIR (both debut on 9/3/1972), CBS insisted to have Bob Barker host the daytime TPIR instead of Dennis James but was reluctant to have Barry in front of the camera Jack Barry; thus Barker offered to host TJW instead of TPIR. Eventually, CBS folded and allowed Barry to host TJW and both shows did well until TJW was cancelled by CBS in 1975 (and returned in first-run syndication in 1977).

You could probably get rid of a few of the "moonlighting actors" and go with some GSN hosts I suppose.
But, overall, interesting how today there are very few what we'd call "career hosts" like in the 60s-80s.
