I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 with my 3060 ti 1080p high, dlss quality, Rtx Overdrive enabled I'm just getting 30fps but it looks so good. Wish we could get dlss 3.0 on the RTX 3000 series
I've commented on multiple of your videos, but I am absolutely floored by your GPU temp and was curious if you could share your build or make a video on how you're cooling your system. Here you're pushing the 3060ti to it's absolute limit, staying at 100% GPU usage and it was barely able to output 20 fps because the taxation was beyond what it could handle. Yet the entire time it stayed around 60 degrees as if it were running a game that barely demanded anything.
@@afos88 When running games at 1440p at ultra settings my gpu temp hovers around the mid 70s. Modern Warfare 2 for example at 1440p with all presets on Ultra and fps capped at 240 (I use a 240hz monitor currently) it usually stays around 73 degrees. I've tested this on both custom builds locally and with Main gear's MG-1 which is what Shroud uses. The gpu temp in desktop or watching UA-cam videos for example hovers around 39-40, then with medium taxation hovers around 55-60, but when you push the card to 100% usage and max the vram the temp goes to the 70s. This has been the case with every build I've ever used, so I'm willing to learn more about the variables I'm clearly missing, which is why I'm asking.
@@afos88 The reason I mentioned Main Gear is because their prebuilt are from artisan builders that will most likely create something far better than what your average enthusiast can put together. They only hire veteran builders, and were highly rated by Linus for example. Comparing this to custom local builds, the results were very similar. Is there a specific type of AIO or case that nearly cuts temperature in half that I'm not understanding?
@@Ribcut You're probably fine. Temperatures on the range of 70°C ain't that severe for an Ampere card, imo. My 3070 goes to 66°C during summer and I have really good cooling. Not to mention that I have a triple fan variant. However, if you really want to lower your temps, and in case you haven't tried this already, you could always set a more aggressive fan curve with MSI Afterburner. It'll be more loud, sure, but it's also provide you with lower temperatures. You could also go to your BIOS and increase your case's fans rpm so that your case gets rid of heat more efficiently. What GPU do you have, btw?
The mod to drop 2 bounces to a single bounce can hardly be noticed unless comparing side by side, the game becomes much smoother on midrange and still BEATS RTX Psycho visuals. 1080p DLSSB now 1080p DLSSQ and looks great with fps akin to unmodded DLSSB. 1080p DLSSB suffers in dark areas, or dark shading scenes.. the Nomad Sherriff has some pixelation on his hat shadows but if you can get passed that kind of stuff, DLSSB is stiill okay... Modded DLSSB on 1080p with 2080ti does almost 60fps, give or take scene to scene, but pretty smooth.
Personally I got some of the options on lower settings, on a 1080p 144Hz monitor, and while using performance DLSS it's really solid using PT. ~80FPS are pretty tolerable using Reflex and GSync - and quickly turning it off to get ~120FPS for faster combat is no problem either.

I remember when Elden Ring fried my 6gb 1060 after ~100 hours of playing it on max settings. It started with artifacts just like yours and slowly escalated further. Eventually forced me to upgrade to r7 5800x3d/4070 and I've never been happier

I wonder if having a dedicated RT team that focused on optimizing ray tracing in games rather than throwing the slider up to 11 would help make RT more accessible 🗿
There is no level of optimization that can be done to make RT playable on current gpus without performance loss. RT is an really intensive technology and real time it's even worse. Also, this is path tracing which is just full ray tracing so its even more intensive, the normal RT mode in this game runs fine.

Obviously there are limitations,but there will always be limitations. You will probably never be satisffied since you don't seem to see a difference between 3050 and 4090 based on your statement.

Honestly though anyone who bought a 3060 TI for 1080p gaming in 2020 or 2021 got themselves a very good graphics card. Two years later and games aren't much more demanding than Cyberpunk so it still handles anything on 1080p High to Ultra.
man i got super lucky with this card(3060ti tuf), bought it a year ago for 350 bucks and the previous owner barely used it as it had most of the peels on❤ and it has been running flawlessly.
Hey friend! I had similar issue with my old GTX980 ti. It appears that the chip on GPU was not able to handle high temperatures properly, due to a hair size crack.

The 3060ti and 3070 are awesome for the price point. Especially the 3060ti though my laptop with a 1060 6gb can't keep up with my 3060ti desktop it holds its own for medium settings on newer games. That 1060gtx was a beast and had long life span, probably the best out of any card ive ever had.
My rtx 3070 laptop on RT overdrive , dlss performance mode ,have the same fps and on my 4k tv with hdr 10 sRGB and sharpness 90 looks so facking great . No blurry, no pixelized .. dlss 3.5 is amazing. If u think that is bad quality u just play on a bad monitor or tv. 1080 p performance mode looks great i promess, just change sharpness dlss. And play on a mid/long range distance to monitor or TV... if u paly close looks bad at 1080, 2k or 4k...

I would never subject a graphics card to tests I know are beyond it. Like a 3060ti on rt overdrive at 1440p. These are 1080p cards. RT overdrive is great for taking photos at 1080p. If it doesn't do near 30 then don't do it at all. And that is without dlss.
I'm using RT overdrive at 1440p performance dlss on a 3060, it looks great on 1080p monitor now with ray reconstruction, in most of the city it's around 40fps, in more demanding areas it's 32-35.
I just can't deny.....3060ti is just most impressive card from the series

Check if your 3060Ti is using SK Hynix memory chips as SK Hynix GDDR6 chips are known to be failing a lot. Especially on RTX 2000 series

What kinda temperatures do you get? My GPU never gets past like 65 - 68 even when maxed out, and my case is silent focused, not airflow.

Well you have multiple RT options to choose from.

looks like you dont use smt patch for ryzen in cyberpunk. it makes difference for 8+ cores ryzen cpu and for your 5800x3d too
