**For anyone struggling to get the cover back. First off break out a ruler and find the long side of the foam(it’s just about 8in) then find the long side seam on the cover. So with the foam sitting on a table with the long 8in side on top match up the long side of the fabric (the “pillow pad” logo hand strap will be on the left side) smush the foam into the wall and position the cover on the correct way. From there it’s just a lot of smushing and pulling from the inside/out. You’ll eventually get there. Took me 3 minutes. Hope this helps anyone😜
I could see using this if in the hospital for an extended time. Since it's so light it wouldn't add too much weight on possibly painful wounds and might keep the tablet from slipping off the bed if you nod off. The blankets on hospital beds aren't usually thick enough to create a hill in them to hold a tablet at a viewable angle. Wouldn't have much use for one at home though where my cats would compete for the lap space making it impossible to use 😆 Knew you'd have trouble removing the cover and putting it back on when you said you didn't think the pillow would slide off your lap. A more stretchy fabric would make it much easier to remove/replace but would be more likely to have a slippery finish thus making it more likely a phone or tablet would slide off easily or the pillow itself more likely to slide off of your lap. Excellent in depth review of a very basic and marginally useful product! I never trust reviews that are purportedly reposted from the manufacturer's web site. I also take reviews by people who received a product free or deeply discounted in exchange for their review with a large grain of salt.
Actually, I could see cats claiming this thing as their property anyways. If you buy this, you might be buying it for your cat. The proof is in the pussin' lol.
I was finally able to get the damn cover back on mine thanks to your video! What a waste of an entire hour of my life. But now I know to never take the cover off again. Thanks for testing this product in ways it's actually going to be used. You are the only person I could find that did this.
I’m watching you on my iPad and pillow pad in my recliner. I like mine. Since I’m on my iPad, holding for hours,,I developed a nerve situation with burning going down the arm I hold it with (have been checked by drs.), so got the pillow with hopes of it clearing up. From your review I now know to hand clean it when it’s needed.
It works fine, my mother has a flippy or whatever the generic version is. It’s nice when you’re reclining, or sitting at a table, so.... it does what it’s supposed to do.
Loved this review I have had my pillow pad for about 8 months and love it EXCEPT for the design of the case. In addition to the couch, car, bed, it is also handy in the kitchen when following a recipe I've found online. I agree completely with your review. DON'T try to take the case off! I was doubting myself instead of the design until I saw your review so thank you!
I got the flippy at a garage sale for 4 bucks. The cover doesn't come off (good thing) as it's easy to wash in the sink or shower with a little liquid soap and dollar store non stiff dish brush. Let it air dry in the sun for a bit and good as new. It doesn't have the side pockets which would be nice (those need zippers though bc as you flip it for a different angle your Bluetooth headphone case will fall out for sure!) but even without the pockets still very useful around the house and in the car. The steepest angle should have a different designed lip to help hold the tablet/phone in better. Still very light/comfortable on the lap, even for hours. Not portable imo though so wouldn't be taking it on a plane even though it could double as a stiff pillow after watching a movie on the plane. Overall for 10 bucks new I think it's worth it and will hold up over time, for a few bucks at a garage sale its a good buy, but for 20 to 30 bucks... Hell no lol, foam and cloth cover... 12 bucks max.
Thanks for the review James. I'm glad you're pleasing your audience by doing a requested review. Your reviews are entertaining even though I don't buy most of the things you review, but when I do I take your review into consideration.
It seems like there should be something much more compact or that folds flat that will do the same thing. This might be good for at home, but it would take up a lot of space, especially if you have one for everyone in the home. That is a lot of clutter.
I just bought the pillow pad and it works great for passengers in a vehicle. As for removing the cover and replacing it, you have to compress it first and it will be easier. Great video 👍
I have this product and I like it because I have arthritis in my wrist and elbow so this pillow allows me to be able to use my iPad without having too much weight on my joints.
"Grab the pillow pad, kids, it's time to play kickball! Your channel is one of only 2 youtube channels I consistently watch. You really give great reviews!!
I have this and I use it when I'm in bed. I actually use it for my cell phone mostly, using it as a prop for those long chats. Sometimes I even use it with my phone and my tablet simultaneously. I've used it with books and magazines too. I wouldn't DARE take the cover off, just spot clean with a damp cloth
I started to take the cover off to wash it. Unzipped it and tried to pull the top part over the "hump". I didn't rip the zipper part, but I did tear the foam rubber inside!! That is why I went here to see if there was a trick to taking off the cover to wash. After I saw how hard it was to put back on, I decided to just wash it on the outside only! WOW! I would think a zipper going farther around the pillow would help both with taking off and putting back on!
I had this pillow pad for a couple of months....I use it only in my recliner and it works well for me. Before that I would bundle up a blanket. One thing I did notice, my mini I Pad speakers are on the bottom and if you lay it in the grove your sound was quite muffle. To remedy that problem, position it where the speakers are on top or on the side. You could also lean it on top of the grove giving you speakers more exposure if you insist on your home button being on the bottom. Overall I like it, if I fall asleep in my recliner, my pad stay in its place for the most part.
😂😂 I have a pillow pad and decided to wash to cover today. Oh my, what a project. I did manage to get it back on with out ruining it but it was not easy! Otherwise I love the pillow pad for home use, just won’t be washing the cover again any time soon.
Love mine, but took foam out to wash cover, and it's very hard to put it back correctly. A real pain. I haven't figured it out yet. Someone needs to make a video about getting foam put back in the cover correctly.
Now I am going to review YOU...I give you 5 Stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️...perfect review! You covered all the important details without taking too long. And the most important thing is that you were not annoying. Thank you😀👍
Just purchased one from HSN but not the same brand you're showing,. I believe they have at least 2 different types. I thought it would be nice to have at my kitchen table or on a desk to hold up a tablet!
Of all of the UA-cam channels I'm subscribed to yours is by far and above the very best I like your transparency and honesty I appreciate that I really enjoy how you enjoy doing the reviews your light-hearted it's really cool that both of your kids help you with this I like that it is a family affair
I have a smaller version that I bought from Publishers Clearinghouse that works very well(using it now). I haven't tried to take the cover off, and probably won't. I have a smaller tablet,9", and it helps that I don't have to hold it, my hands get tired.
I bought it and it's not that bad, it's helpful when I watch movies in my bed and I had to pick which angle is better. It's not perfect but does a decent job, I was thinking at certain angles the steep part, I was thinking using velcro to prevent tablet falling off, that should solve the problem.
I like it. My fingers start aching from holding the sides of my tablet. It makes FaceTime with my daughter (who is a 21 hour drive away) more enjoyable. I give it 4-1/2 stars.
I have something like that my mother ordered me from a Harriet Carter magazine it’s just hard plastic with a pillow bottom for sitting on my lap and it’s the best I’ve ever owned. I’ve had it like 4 years now and I think she only paid like $14.99 for it...good product to keep my iPad balanced on my lap.
I haven’t had one of these, but I have had other “shaped” pillows that claimed that their covers were washable. I have been able to get the covers back on NONE of them! They must have some type of vacuum or pressure machine that can compress the foam while keeping its shape. Position the compressed foam into the cover, then decompress. The cover fits perfectly. In the field, we have no way to completely compress the foam at once. This makes it almost impossible to get it back on properly. If you wash the cover, the pillow becomes useless.
Believe it or not the pillow is great it's just very bulky it's great to go on road trips the only thing I'm having trouble with is putting the pillowcase back on I washed it I use it so much and I forgot where the zipper goes so I'm hoping you can show me and the zipper is great don't worry it won't rip
I would like a review on a cheaper look alike? My arm muscles get really sore holding my tablet. What other things can I use instead, there are tablet holders, but I need something for my lap??
I found this review extremely useful. Wasnt expecting it. That is a bad zipper though >_> mind you that is considered an invisible zipper which is super temperamental
I have this pillow and absolutely love it. I use it to support my Kindle mostly, my phone, my iPad, and occasionally my laptop. I love that it is lightweight and it is so easy to move from one side of my bed to the other when I roll over. It is kinda grippy and can be tilted without dumping my devices, especially when they are in covers. It also offers a great angle when I used on my lap or desk. I have used it on my desk for Zoom meetings on my phone and it gave a good angle and support for my phone. I am glad that is not foldable, because it would fold up accidentally when being moved around often while reading in bed. It is soft and lightweight, so I can leave it on the bed while I sleep and not have to worry about bumping into a hard bed tray or lap desk during the night. I have no desire to travel with it because it is bulky, but that's ok. I wouldn't travel with other solutions because of their weight. I have no plans to ever wash it. I would just spot clean if I got a smudge on the cover. One of the best $19.99 purchases I have made. I truly love the comfort of enjoying reading ebooks and watching videos hands-free.
My concern with this product is that it would block the ventilation holes on the back of the tablet and possibly cause it to overheat, especially if you have it plugged in while using it. In the same vein, the speaker holes would be blocked.
My flat Ipad case does the same thing, 3 angles...no bulk. Should be noted it would also work well for phones watching video and for the Nintendo Switch.
Just an FYI, received a Pillow Pad free and sent in my review. Just because I received it complimentary, I always am truthful with all my reviews... and I liked it a lot!
I got mine on the clearance shelf a Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Just packaging issue. It does work pretty well and I do use it. Just had a problem when it slid my tablet off and it fell under the bed. Otherwise like to play solitaire on my tablet. It just slides off the sides but otherwise it's good.
I use with a phone too, just got a z fold from samsung. I used to use tablets but I really don't anymore. I used to have to hold the tablet and the stand because I use it from a bed and then I'd have to stack it on top of pillows. I don't have the one you're advertising there or not advertising testing but I have just a generic one with only two sides and a five bottom now when I put my fold phone or a regular thing narrow or phone on it the lip on the bottom keeps me from getting to my back and close and home buttons because I have to flip up on the screen cuz they're not physical and that lip gets in the way terribly even with my tablet I did all the phones are harder cuz they will lower down with that. The biggest problem ever is that every time I move get up walk around breathe! The phone goes flying off and onto the floor there's no strap or seat belt you can put around it or something right so again like my tablet, I may have to stick a bunch of velcro pieces on the back because I need to use voice and hands-free my a lot. So yeah if I can stop my brand new expensive phone from flying off of it every time I try to shift I'll feel better. Basically I'll do the same thing I set up in a bed with a pillow on my lap with this on top of it or in front of me or I can watch TV or what not. But hard to get to those home buttons and I wish they made one like this and a smaller size for a phone that actually held it better. Yep I got a little pouch on the side too not a clue what I'm supposed to do with it. I've had this for years and I think I just noticed it well LOL but I didn't see you comment on anybody saying it's slippery it's slippery Androids are too slippery no I don't have a case I do not like cases I keep the phone at home so I don't need a case I say that now but that's hard to push buttons into a case then that blocks my buttons thank you for letting me ramble adult ADHD is well what I have have a good day take care happy holidays Happy Thanksgiving!
Looks like that hollow part in the middle and the slit between the sides is meant for at least one of the sides to be rolled into the center hollow area. This converts it from three sides to basically two. Stuff it inside the cover and release the compressed part. Done. There HAS to be a very fast technique they use on the assembly line and it's probably something like that. There is no other reason to have that hollow center and the slit cut between the halves.
If that were the case (and you could be right), a few instructions would be awesome. That foam is pretty hard, so I don't know how easy it would be to roll up for some people.
Hey, man, the innards is foam! You should've just squished it down to stuff it back into the case. I have no doubts that the cover is cheaply made and that it wasn't easy putting it back on but by trying to stretch the cover over the foam instead of compressing the foam itself, you tore the cover.
An iPad gets very heavy if you read in bed and are old. I have two on order and I am looking forward to them. Right now for bedtime reading, I have a monstrosity with bendable metal legs that weighs a ton. At $10, I can afford to try a replacement!
I recently bought this. I have no problem with the ability to hold a tablet, wait for it, but... The pocket and holding strap are only effective using one angle, and it's not really the optimum angle I use. They shift when you flip it, obviously. I don't like it for travel, but I have one in my room and I move it to the RV when I camp.
I have the flippy and it works really well but I agree I wish that it was a little bit heavier and the angle was a bit more laid back but overall it's nice because I hate having to hang onto tablets. My Lenovo has a stand but it isn't practical in all situations
I don't have one and probably wouldn't get one. Convalescing in bed or something, I could come up with things in the house like a pillow. My main concern either way would be my tablet over heating laying on material. I would rather rest it on something hard for that reason.
I bought a flippy 2+ years ago, and at that time it was only one of it’s kind on Amazon and $50. I spend 90% of time propped up in bed and its a lifesaver! I use it with a 2nd gen ipad pro 12.9”. I would love a color besides gray tho! I do think the flippy is a lot firmer than the pillow pad, and perhaps heavier.
I had to take the case off cuz the person I got it from it smelled like cat or cat pee but there's no stains on it, and the smell seeped in to the foam too, I was wondering if anyone knew how to clean the foam itself. Otherwise I was going to douse it in Lysol deodorizer.
Just use a regular pillow you have at home if you need to prop something up to use. Never take a cover off a form item, you will never get it back on unless you wrap the form in a light plastic so it slides in.
“Let me show you how light this is by seeing how far I can kick it” this is why I love your channel

Excellent in depth review of a very basic and marginally useful product!

Actually, I could see cats claiming this thing as their property anyways.
If you buy this, you might be buying it for your cat.
The proof is in the pussin' lol.
@@zephyrsonzephyrson8618 Very true 😆 It would be fur coated in no time too!
Yeah I can see a cat claiming this.
I bought one. Very handy, I use it all over the house and in bed It's just difficult to put back together if you wash cover.
I was finally able to get the damn cover back on mine thanks to your video! What a waste of an entire hour of my life. But now I know to never take the cover off again. Thanks for testing this product in ways it's actually going to be used. You are the only person I could find that did this.
Truth be told, I want it. My hands get tired from marathon product reviews while watching ur channel. I’m sold!
you know shits getting real when he whips out the "absolutely horrible." Thanks for the in depth review (:
I have the Flipy. I needed it because I was having trouble with my fingers and couldn't hold my books. I still use it. Love it!
Dude got heated at the end lol
Don't blame you though
“Hey dad why’s that guy kicking a pillow in the park?”
Number 2, not bad. I absolutely love watching your reviews. The most unbiased reviewer out there. 😍😍😍😍
I’m watching you on my iPad and pillow pad in my recliner. I like mine. Watching that is like watching a film. So many surprises and turn of events.

I agree.
Loved this review

You are so funny. I laughed and laughed about you trying to stuff that piece of garbage back into the covering.
Lol at the ripping!!! 😂
Me too! Lol
I like that university of Tennessee tee, great story behind that shirt.
The size is a con for sure.
I use a cheap, foldable book easel. Works especially well when I’m washing dishes and want something to watch or listen to.
I love when you get pissed and start saying "com-on now!" Love your channel and your reviews!
"Grab the pillow pad, kids, it's time to play kickball! Your channel is one of only 2 youtube channels I consistently watch. You really give great reviews!!
There should have been 2 zippers on the "triangle" side, then you could just slide it right out.
They should hire you for R&D.
Or a split in the foam so it can be unrolled and eased in one side at a time. Oh wait... lol
I have this and I use it when I'm in bed. I actually use it for my cell phone mostly, using it as a prop for those long chats. Sometimes I even use it with my phone and my tablet simultaneously. Love the shirt man. I live in Tennessee and im beyond proud to live in this state because of the story behind that shirt. Way cool
It's a great story, and I'm proud to have that shirt!
From what I heard they also gave the kid a scholarship or something like that. I got alot of family in kingman Arizona btw
Great video bud! Just goes to show no matter how mundane a product may seem to be, a well done product review can still be super helpful!
My mom ordered me a Pillow Pad on Amazon and it's the best tablet stand I ever had. I love it.

Wow, you really man-handled that cover! Hilarious. Thanks for not only being informative, but very entertaining also.
Does anyone know how I can remove the cover without destroying the pillow?
Freakin' Honest Reviews! Keep doing em
I use a Targus iPad case. It swivels from portrait to landscape, and has 4 guides for different viewing angles.
I like it. My fingers start aching from holding the sides of my tablet. It makes FaceTime with my daughter
(who is a 21 hour drive away) more enjoyable. I give it 4-1/2 stars.
Good swerve kick!! 😁Edit: you could probably fill the cover with poly beads and it would do the same job, but better to put in position.

I have a similar cushion and I wash the whole cushion and dry on a low setting and it turns out fine without the hassle.
I am rolling!!😂😂 Awesome review!! Thanks for the laughs!!😂😂❤
Thanks James! ALSO huge cheers for the UT T-shirt. That little boy would love to see this video with you wearing it. Good on you.
The split in the foam is so you can ease it into the case one side at a time

For what it is it does it well. I’d give it a 9 but do to the low quality case I’m giving it a strong 7 or barely a 8.
I don't even trust my nephews when they say they washed their hands, I'm certainly not trusting revuews from a manufacturer
Realest. Comment. Ever.

Maybe if you tried putting the cover back on in a vacuum chamber...
My concern with this product is that it would block the ventilation holes on the back of the tablet and possibly cause it to overheat, especially if you have it plugged in while using it. In the same vein, the speaker holes would be blocked.

My Mom has one similar to this. It works great for her because her hands shake when she holds things. So she uses hers all the time when on her phone.
There are current gen tablet holders?
You’ve got to try the flashlight that’s so bright it can dry and egg. It’s advertising over in Instagram I think it’s a Flashex

They should've put the zipper on the end, along the outer perimeter of the seam.
That would have been much better.
I like the pillow pad. comes in handy. can always find one position that works. thanks to your video, I now know not to take the cover off.
I have a pillow pad I got from Walmart and I love it!!!… I don’t take the cover off … lol 😂 I use a damp cloth with soap 🧼 and water 🚿 to clean it
Another awesome review not something id buy but love watching you test random products.👏🏻
I love my pillow pad. I put a Saiji stand on the top. So I can use my phone and tablet at the time!
I have just seen the TV ad for this pillow. I don't use one of those as I have a stand that I use.
I agree it is a pain to put back on without ripping it. Mine is still off, can't get back on!
Do you think that it would work with an iPad or an iPhone that has a case with it as well?
Hey, man, the innards is foam! You should've just squished it down to stuff it back into the case. I have no doubts that the cover is cheaply made and that it wasn't easy putting it back on but by trying to stretch the cover over the foam instead of compressing the foam itself, you tore the cover.
That is what I was trying to do. That foam is not easy to compress.
@@Freakinreviews Hmm, sounds like pretty okay foam then, lol.
That UT shirt brother. Nice 👍🏻
Love the UT shirt! Great cause as well! GO VOLS!
Man seriously do a comparison with all the kind of tablet pillow pad. I am looking for the best one.
Did the “space bags” really work?
Is this good for the 12.9 inch iPad?
I have the flippy and it works really well but I agree I wish that it was a little bit heavier and the angle was a bit more laid back but overall it's nice because I hate having to hang onto tablets. My Lenovo has a stand but it isn't practical in all situations
please do one on 4 patreits ,soler flash light.
I don't have one and probably wouldn't get one. Convalescing in bed or something, I could come up with things in the house like a pillow. My main concern either way would be my tablet over heating laying on material. I would rather rest it on something hard for that reason.
I just watched the Flippy on HSN2,(Featured price 29.99) thinking of maybe getting it, then I thought of you. 😃 Thanks for the review.
Can you review the Silitray and variations of it?
I bought a flippy 2+ years ago, and at that time it was only one of it’s kind on Amazon and $50. I spend 90% of time propped up in bed and its a lifesaver! I use it with a 2nd gen ipad pro 12.9”. I would love a color besides gray tho! I do think the flippy is a lot firmer than the pillow pad, and perhaps heavier.
It's kind of amazing how many Flippy-like products are out there now.
I have one,but don't use it for my tablet. I use it in my recliner to hold my coloring book on as I watch TV.
Question! Would it wedge between the front car seats to make a holder for rear passengers?
I have the Flippy ipad pillow & its the same as the Pillow Pad, does the same thing too. Mine is excellent for when im laying in bed using my iPad.
Is it easy to remove from the cover?
@@Freakinreviews Hi, i haven't actually tried to remove the cover yet..
Never take a cover off a form item, you will never get it back on unless you wrap the form in a light plastic so it slides in.
does it work as a pillow also?
My grandmother bough me this but it yesterday and it don’t work for my iPad
James: “it sounds that would take 30 seconds to figure that out”
