Yes, I think the people of Thailand saved my life. I was in a very dark place in the UK and couldn't find a way out of the horrible situation I was in. The black dog was sitting next to me on a daily basis but, since I moved here, I haven't felt in the slightest bit depressed.
Did I make the right move? ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY I did 😁

Wow! The change in you since I watched your video where they put the door on in your flat is remarkable. Thailand is my destination dream since 1983. Keep up your positive attitude. You will be ok there.
I've been here for 8 months now and I haven't had one day of feeling like I did in the UK. All I see are happy faces and people who are ready to help at every opportunity, the people who leave very negative comments about living here are either jealous or they simply don't understand.
I love the UK as a country and there are good folks here. But you are right, the system is broken. Almost beyond repair I fear. But I'll be going down with the ship, pretending the whole place isn't shitting the bed Haha! Just done some bike touring and bloody loved it. Met some amazing people. I totally agree mate apart from one thing...... the system is working perfectly and it doesn't need repair. Think of the big picture and the design that the government wants - you swamp the county with people who will comply if you give them what they want and, in return, they will not fight against the establishment. The middle-class person has a voice no matter what and voices cause problems through the butterfly effect but, if you supress, extinguish or completely get rid of the voice, the problem goes away. This is exactly what they're doing to the British person.
Ultimately, there should be 2 classes - upper and lower and that's exactly what the government are preparing for future generations.
I'm going touring next month, maybe towards the end of the month to try and avoid the rainy season a bit........... I'm excited 😉😁😁😁
You defo left the UK at the right time. I can't believe how tyrannical its become here in a matter of weeks and with the massive demographic changes going on I think the country we knew has all but gone. Make sure you start learning Thai mate, it will make your stay much richer.
I've never let my instinct guide me before but I'm so glad I let it run wild. I still love the UK (or how it was) but I can't live in a world of tyranny and communism. I said it a while ago that the legal invasion is done by design to demolish the middle class and bring only 2 classes - upper and lower.
I'm trying to learn Thai mate but it's harder than I thought. If I spend a day with anyone English speaking, the next day I've forgotten what I learnt but I'll get there........in 20 years.
Tony your right about the UK being over populated now, you cant even go out for a quite walk to remote places without clashing in to others unless you do it 5am in the morning
This is why I used to fly my planes so early, I like the solitude of the countryside. The population growth is by design though mate, the government are doing it to mould the UK into a country that we don't recognise.
The U.K. is not over populated. Here you get confined to tight living spaces, small, shitty, bland looking houses, no real development, no expansion because the nimbys, politicians, so-called royalty all want to limit your space and freedom. Only 6 to 7% of the U.K. is covered by domestic properties. The rest is owned (stolen) by elites and corporations.

It's one of the top reasons I moved here, I drove around France/Belgium/Spain and the amount of times I found myself on the left hand side of the road was incredible.

The same thing is happening in the US. The govt doesn't care about the middle class, which supports the country as a whole. And immigration is totally out of control. God forbid I want to bring my Thai GF to the US. I will get denied and have to jump through hoops to get a visa, but people cross the southern border and get everything on our dime. I am fortunate to walk away from it in retirement, but I am worried for my kids.
It's happening all over the western world now, immigration is out of control. It's a bit ironic that I've emigrated over here but at least I can say that I'm a legal immigrant. My daughter left the UK last year because she could see what was happening to the country and I think it's what spurred me on to leaving too.
Tony ive just turned 60 and I dont mind saying I cried I am sobbing here mate. I am so happy for you and little did I know years ago when I started following you building electric bikes that today I would realize I am in exactly the same place you were and I need to find some way to be where your are. Your most lucky to have gotten out of here , Im still stuck in my errr "rut" or whatever they call it , The country is going to hell and there's nothing we can do about it.

If we had the courage, we would have collectively done something about it but the government have done their job well and supressed and divided the people that cause them problems.

Thailand had a honeymoon period and then the real reality of a Farang living in Thailand will set in most farangs not all don't get past the five years later on hitting a brick wall period .
Good point. It's because most farang don't understand Thai society. They're living the holiday life. Thai people, at least the new generation want new everything the same as the UK. You see more new cars in Thailand than the UK because everyone is debting up. There are some great things about Thailand and some bad things, the same with the UK. What changes with a farang when they move to Thailand is their own mindset, they live outside of society, they don't need to keep up with the Jones because there are no Jones, but there are Somchais and the Thais have the same pressures, even more so to comply with society. Farangs could live how they want in their own country but most don't because like all societies there are expectations to fit in.
The honeymoon period is 5 years long? We'll have to see mate, I don't think this feeling will disappear anytime soon.

Hi I’m Scottish from Inverness and have lived in Colombia for the last 37 years and can honestly say say I love every day,but we are a banana republic republic in the eyes of the the west but every where you look there is so much construction, new apartments new shopping malls , tourism is taking off, oh I’m so happy to live here will never go back to the uk to live,36 months for uk state pension,they won’t give me a raise after that,not justified , well it is what is it, I hate labour with all my heart how theyy can take away the300 pounds from the pensiones, criminal,I will pass my last days in Colombia but not sitting in a bedsit freezing cold,South Asia has what I can understand a culture like in Latin America, where poeple are respectful, and look after each others, not like the uk where everyone is for themselves, no I will stay in Colombia a country that has given me a family love and happiness,

Velity are actually an American company but they've opened an assembly plant over here which is good for business. I've got to speak honestly but the price of them is way above anything I would be prepared to promote and I doubt that they'll sell very many over here. I can buy a brand new Honda Click or Honda Wave and convert it to electric with a lot more power, speed and range for far less than Velity sell their highest power scooter, plus which my conversion could legally be ridden on any public roads. The roads over here can be rather hairy to say the least and I've been down some roads with invisible drains sunken 3-6 inches which nearly throws me off my ADV. Having 10-11" wheels and far less mass would be suicidal.
I'm still in the design process but I will be starting my new project later this year 😉👍
You're so right about the UK its got even worst since you left. You did the right thing, watching you in Thailand is quite an eye opener it looks such a peaceful place everybody seems to smile and are happy.
The more I see about the UK, the more I realise that I did everything at exactly the right time. The new restrictions on people is getting stupid mate.
Thailand is all about being peaceful and helping each other, not about ladyboys as everyone thinks.

If the immigrants to the UK had the same awe for the locals that you have as an immigrant in Thailand there'd be much more harmony.
Absolutely mate, I don't pretend that I'm not an immigrant over here and I have the utmost respect for Thai people because they have the same respect for me. I'm doing everything I can to integrate, learn, understand and feel proud to be given the chance to live here.
Thailand is the land if smiles. They treat foreigners well and are welcoming and very helpful.
How do english people treat foreigners? Do they smile and welcome them?
@@CharlieWingate1 As a European in Thailand you might get all the smiles, but I wonder if the smiles extend to other foreigners too, like Africans, or Chinese. Anyways they are undeniably more welcoming than UK.
Most British people are welcoming and nice but of course there are those who are not. It's a different situation however. Farang are seen as "higher" and usually with money. Have a look how many (not all) Thais view those from Myanmar and then we'll have an eye opener about how Brits treat "foreigners".
I used to have terrible sciatica about 15 years ago, I’am 71 now and haven’t had any problems now. My sciatica started when I became a taxi driver about 35 years ago. As we get older if we don’t keep active and exercise everyday our bodies and muscles deteriorate slowly over time. I found once I started exercising regularly the sciatica in my legs gradually disappeared. That’s my own experience, we are all different!

In 37 and I stopped watching TV around 20 years ago. Its the same shit with a different theme. Thank fuck for UA-cam! The peoples TV or at least the closest thing we have got to one.
In currently bed bound with a twisted pelvis and slipped disc. NHS given me an appointment 5 months after I called the GP. I cant even walk to the chiropractor. What's this Thai medical massage that helped you out?

The massage I get here is more muscular than anything, they slowly manipulate everything back into place and make sure it stays there. If I feel pains from my back, they will do a more vigorous repositioning of joints but it's very painful and I never think I'll ever walk again (but obviously I do). The other plus side is the cost - £6 for an hour and I need one treatment per week to keep the pain away.
Coincidentally, I had a call from the NHS last week - They asked me to fill in some pain management forms before I attend my appointment in November (14 months since my referral). When I explained to the woman that I've emigrated and I did inform the NHS about this, she was all snotty with me and she hung up.
@@Vortecks Six quid, that's incredible. I wish I lived in Thailand, but looking at your recent videos you're definitely selling it to me. I'm not surprised with the NHS's response there. That's pretty much the NHS down to a T if you ask me, a 111 doctor , because my dr was to busy to see me told me to call 111 and they just told me to start with taking paracetamol.
I've been in this state before and the only thing that helped was Gonstead Chiropractors, but there are 2 decent one the country which is London and Manchester. Hopefully I will be able to get my friends to drive me from Croydon to the London one.
I'm so lucky to have such good friends who look after me because the NHS dont.

Glad you made the move...you will look back and realise you beat the dark dog thoughts cramping your mind for a bit....now it's onwards and upwards the dark dogs away..will see ya when I'm over Oct. When I look back at what I instinctively did and the things I had to do in order for me to get away, it's a very refreshing feeling that I did it before the breakdown of society hits.

I believe that I have found nirvana, I am now in a place of perfect harmony and peace (in my mind) which is good enough for me. I have very little expectation in life which makes things very easy to accomplish.
How much money do you need to do what you did?
That's a very loaded question mate. I could tell you how much it did cost me for everything but it wouldn't help you in the slightest, it all depends on your circumstances and how much disposable cash you can gather.
All it's really cost me is the flight out here, the rest is still ongoing but I will do a complete breakdown on how much things cost in future videos. Keep watching the videos I release on a Wednesday, they should be helpful and give you some insight into the things I had to do.

Of course mate - yes, you can use any battery of any capacity as long as the voltage doesn't increase. The '100ah' is the capacity - put 10 of them on, have 1000ah and I'll see you when you get here 🤣

The only reason you are allowed to stay in Thailand is because you have have savings to support yourself. If anything happened and you have no money you would be shown the door back to Blighty. You you seem to have a real downer on.the UK 🇬🇧Yes it's far from perfect now. And if you're medical issue was sorted out with a massage then I am not surprised the NHS didn't prioritise you. I am not a hater but a realist. I will return to Thailand for a long holiday early next year. But I would never dream of leaving the UK permanently. Wherever you live it soon becomes the norm.. 🇹🇭
Most of what this guy says in misinformed at best and just wrong at worst. I hope things work out for him. Probably be back here after a few years because the NHS is free, and lots of farang discover the value of that when they get a bit older.
Things are working out perfectly for me, I'm finally out of pain after suffering in the UK for 7 years and I'm eating healthy food every day instead of having to buy junk because it was all I could afford.
It's not a choice that I live here, it's a necessity and the people who say that Thailand is a struggle really don't look at their homeland. I was struggling in the UK with ZERO help from the government for 3 years before I'd had enough I'd paid into the system for 40 years and got absolutely ZERO help. I'm a legal immigrant over here and I'm treated better than I ever was in the UK.

David, you're 100% correct and we all know what rel1g1on they were (replace 1's with I's). The people from the 60's and 70's have definitely integrated very well although the country didn't treat them with the respect they deserved. The people from the 60's and 70's now agree 100% with our way of thinking but unfortunately, they're being tarred with the same brush as the ones coming in now.

Over here, Cheddar is £10.88 a kilo but that's imported from the UK so it doesn't make sense that they can charge anywhere near that over there.
Locally produced mature cheese is around £1.22/kilo. It doesn't have the kick of UK cheese but it's very palatable.
The UK government want total control over the population but over here, they balance control against freedom (like it used to be in the UK). Doing it this way causes the workers to earn more, be more productive and supportive to any decisions the government wants to implement.
The middle-class person is the hardest to control because they still have an urge for freedom and they fight back. The easiest way to gain control is to create a situation, wait for the reaction and then implement a solution and that's exactly what they're doing in the UK now.
The immigration thing is all planned for the future, they're doing away with the middle-class person so they can have complete control and drive down wages (but keep prices high) so they make the country VERY profitable.
I firmly believe that I came here at the right time (for mental and physical reasons) before I see my beloved country turn into a communist shit-hole. I still love the UK and I do miss it but I cannot stand what is being done to it.
