As Clint Smith said about the velcro elastic side saddles. "They wear out overtime, they're cheap, quit being a b*tch and buy 100 of em".

I have an old duck hunting belt that fits around your waist … like a belt lol. That holds 20 or 25 rounds (I’d have to go look). But the bottom is sewn shut so no falling thru . Worked good in the woods hunting . Keep it stored by my shotgun now . Just my 0.2 cents worth .

👍 My only concern MIGHT be debris / mud / etc getting stuck in a closed bottom shell holder (unless there’s a drain grommet). 😊

I’ve been rocking out the Tactaload stock for over a year now. Built like a tank and quick, easy access to the shells. With my shotgun filled up, a side saddle and this my shotgun has 20 rounds on deck.

I dont think shotgun cards wearing out and shells falling out is a issue, they are cheap keep new ones on hand. Im going to be the guy that says. nah

Fair enough. The cards won't wear out if you're not using them (like on a home defense gun), but why not both??? Have that sweet side saddle and the flash 5!

I like the shotgun cards just because I can store them in my AR mag pouches and quickly swap them out. That stock runs dry, you're done, in a tactical theoretical situation. For most of us, I don't think it's necessary unless it's more so a preference.

@@TacResJoeweight. Why put shells in the stock when you can just add extra cards to the kit? Make the stock hold a card and guess what? You have both and they operate the same. Pull, stick, load, repeat.

It has a flaw, the lack of a QD socket. They should just add them since it is a supposed to be used in a tactical situation.

5rd cards are good but $20 Walmart 2 zipper pocket only mens Fanny packs are surprisingly 👑add some 550 cord pull tabs good to go 30+🦌18🐌keep a few ready to go fit perfect sidesaddle/under armor plates, add 🔫holster/mags too only rig you can grab butt naked at 3AM cause aint nothing scarier to a criminal/swat team than a naked man wearing a Fanny pack holding a shotgun 🤣

Curious what weight difference is between the Magpul stock and this one (empty). Not really fair to count the extra 5 rounds because, hey, you're getting an extra 5 rounds!

Hey Ed, we just weighed them and the Magpul was 7 lb 3.7 oz and the Tactaload was 8 lb 2.9 oz.

Hmmm - about a 1 pound difference. Assuming self defense usage, I'm not carrying it for long distances. Sounds like it just might be a worthwhile addition!

This is a good Idea. I Hope shotgun manufacturers put this item on a special edition shotgun like they did with MagPul furniture. I made for 12ga holder out of a 20ga ammo belt. This has hold up for over 20 years now. I cut belt to hold 5 rounds on each holder. I used Velcro and mount 1, to the receiver,1 on each side of the stock. This is a lot of firepower on the shotgun with no problem with the extra weight .

The stock seems like a good idea. Do they make a Mossberg version? Also that 1 handed manipulation blew my mind, and here I was just figuring I'd try and go all Sara Conner

A300 has very limited stock options due to the recoil assembly being behind the action. You probably can get this stock to work with a 1301 by using any or the various stock adapters for the 1301 to Mossberg/Remington stocks.

I will withhold judgment on this device until I can see additional evaluations….or get the chance to use one myself. The elastic shellholders are just plain crap. We run the solid mounted hard plastic side-saddles on all duty guns with zero issues. While I have seen them broken from vehicle wrecks and other such catastrophic events, I would be hard pressed to tell you when one ever failed from extended use. And, while they are primarily configured for simply keeping the shotgun “topped off” during an engagement, orienting all of the shells “base-up” sets it up to do direct to port loading of all those shells. So, while I always opt to have more ammo on-board, I’ll not be spending money on this till I have more information. 🫡

    • @BradKaboord

Would you use elastic shell holders on a chest rig if run vertically?
I bought a plastic shell holder at a gun show in 1999. still works great. I believe it was side saddle brand.
