I am a heroin addict with 11 years clean. I am now a counselor at a treatment center and I can tell you that the opposite of addiction is connection and service to other people will save your life and probably others, it will save your life. Take care people. There is hope. My sobriety date is Feb 26 2006 and you bet I get cake. And I share it with whoever wants cake.😎

Wow, so cool finding a place with people who are around the same age. When I first tried going to lots of meetings / rehabs and stuff. This was late 90,s - everyone was a lot older and that was so hard to accept. My denial would tell me I was to young, just cos I started early. Most people were just starting when I felt done. Can still remember thinking I would try starting sober raves or sober skateboard clubs. Never happened just kept using, took many more yrs to get it. Good for you Nicole - Take care.
