It's good to hear that their domestic routes seem to be unchanged so far. At least that's something I guess... it makes those new bonuses actually elevated rather than just being combative to the devaluation for the international routes.
I applied for the Quest card and was approved in September 2021. I'd like to switch to the Club card, but not sure if the 24 month rule on sign up bonuses applies if you've received a SUB from any type United card, or just for re-applies to the same type. If they are treated as entirely separate products, great. If not, does the 24 month gap count from my approval date, or the date when I received the SUB. The Quest SUB I got was for 100k points over a 2 part process. I don't exactly remember when I received the 100k in full, but I do believe it was before 2022.
Ben, unfortunately, domestically also devaluated by 12% /17% or even more. For example on the east coast from EWR to DEN, EWR to MCO, EWR to YYZ....etc. I fly often both domestically and to the EU and I'm very disappointed now. However, seems Air Canada still keeps the same redemption for both routes for UA
I just switched to the united airlines quest card because I have over 5000 miles on united airlines and I feel that you can get better states on the quest card over the explorer card
I’m glad booked the US to Australia 60000 RT deal with United over a Month ago. As far as Business Class flights on United goes, they cost a lot of miles before the devaluation.
I've had the explorer card for three years now and am planning on upgrading to the infinite card. I heard Chase doesn't do upgrade offers. Do you recommend cancelling the explorer and signing up net new with a welcome bonus? I've never cancelled a card before.
im with you on one of the last polaris flights booked at 60k. my wife and son and i are going to munich in august and we now have more of an inclination to not cancel.... lol.
oh man, just the news i dont want to hear. i tried using my united miles as much as possible fearing incoming devaluation, but i am still sitting on over 250k miles cuz there's only so much flying you can do in a given year.
I was approved for the quest card in the past couple of weeks 80k bonus with 4000 spend. I guess a targeted offer. I have a lot of United hub flying coming up so even with the devaluation it’s worth it for the intro bonus for me.
Yes but AVIOS points (Iberia, British Airways) have been the same price since 2022 and we are now in 2024. American Airlines has also had minimal devaluation since 2021. United is much worse in comparison
@@jdeveraux1027 Rupiah is Indonesia, Rupees are in India, Pakistan, etc, Rupee is good too, but Rupiah has the worst exchange rate at 14,839 per dollar that's why I chose Rupiah, lol
Changing the value of already earned points is theft. Devaluation should only affect points issued in the future. If we continue to do business with United there are no consequences for their misconduct. I'm boycotting United now.
At least Air Canada is still an option to book United Airlines for 60k points to Europe… for now!
Devaluations like this always sting a bit. This is part of the reason why I try to stay flexible when it comes to loyalty with a particular airline.
Some people don't have a choice cause they live near a hub airport, so it wouldn't make sense to make multiple connections instead of flying direct

right you can still find 60k US to EU on United using air canada miles

Devaluations is exactly why I don't have any hotel or airline branded credit cards
If they change the price from IAH to Mexico I’m out. Glad I still got to enjoy IAH to Barcelona and Rome back home on United earlier this year.
I think I need to get out of the United Game, it's worse than inflation

Looks like United has not change the value of the miles when paying Cash + Miles, still at a .01 per mile.

Just booked a one-way 2 weeks ago from SFO-MEL for 40k, now 55k! I'm happy I booked when I did
There aren’t a lot of videos that evaluate the benefits of airline cards, so this is really valuable info
I saw a one way from Chicago to Medellín 22k miles and now I'm seeing it for around 30k. Now I saw LifeMiles has remained unaffected so that's good
I use the united airlines explorer card. I like it I have 5000 miles on united airlines now

Points/miles are tied to dollars. Inflation is occurring thus devaluation is a natural outcome.

Oh guys, Gateway is back to 20K welcome bonus
Are there are ever decreases in award fares?
Do we need to be under 5/24 to qualify for these cards?
strictly speaking, yes, but on the co-branded cards Chase seems to have relaxed the requirements, so maybe not
dang, I"ll wait for the return of 100k from United Quest or Club.
What's the point in that, after such devaluation? UA program makes too little sense now.
@@antonh1709 better than current offer…maybe I’m the one thinking backward?
@@gtrr3246 Is it really better given that you need so many more points to book the same flights?
Looks like sky pesos are worth more than United miles from Chase UR points aka United Rupiah miles😂😂😂
did you mean rupees? LOL

Do they still have the in-branch 90K points offer for the chase sapphire preferred credit card?
👍
I hope the U.S rates stay the same. My travels are all U.S 🫣
