Great bit of info on frames stephen.
I started making my own frames a few months back . The 1st few were def a learning curve but i decided to convert my palm router to a router table and it made it so much easier and to save buying a biscuit jointer i bought a biscuit bit for the router . Still need to improve on painting thr frames but gettin there.

do the hole from the inside of the cznvas this way you dont make holes in the frame

Have you ever considered just staining the frames in pine, oak, walnut, or cedar?

Oh yes i have done in the past but i find customers prefer the clean white colour

Great job. Just one question. How do you attach the painting to the frame afterwards?

I just put some screws through the back of the painting at a slight angle into the frame..the screws dont come through the front of the painting but the side so it wont ruin the painting...little brackets can be used also..

How long to wait to varnish your painting and what varnish do you do? Thank you so much @stephan

Hi Bill.. i usually wait a few weeks to let it dry properly..i use artists varnish i get from the local art store...a small jar but goes very far..

Too bad you had to paint over the lovely grain of the wood. I like to stain all the frames that my son makes for me. Good video.
