I was there when it was World Woods in early 90's. They had 2 terrific courses. One was a replica course of Augusta National and the other a replica of Pine Valley in NJ. Both courses were amazing!! They had a 36 hole Putting Course and a few warm-up holes. This renovation looks incredible!!!
World Woods was always a treat to visit. About an hour drive for me. Hopefully they kept the 3 holes for practice and giant putting green. Both courses were excellent and I imagine they will be even better.
When I 1st heard about this course being built I was so excited. These videos just solidified my expectations. It does have hints of Tara Iti. Cannot wait to head down there next year.
Absolutely the most breathtaking video you guys have ever done! This was magical to watch. This course/ destination will be in the top 5 of US courses by 2030
Gentlemen, are you brothers? Heard someone say you guys were brothers and that would be so cool for your parents and family if you were related. Anyway, I absolutely luv this video series. It feels like a personal tour of courses most have never heard of but are incredible and worth recognition. Excellent stuff you're both doing for the golf community 🙂
Course looks very raw at this point. I find it very hard to see what is really going on as the course has not grown in. I look forward to playing this golf course but I will wait at least 12 months to allow for a proper grow in period.
Really enjoyed the video. Thanks! Will definitly put that on my bucket list. But can we please talk about these superhot sandy-coloured FootJoy Hyperflex one of you guys is wearing? Are these a new model? I can´t find them anywhere online, at least not in Europe. Anyone able to help me on that? Thanks up front!!
It’s the HyperFlex Carbon in “Birchwood” here’s the link: www.footjoy.com/fj-birchwood-collection/hyperflex-carbon/007BRW.html?dwvar_007BRW_color=55465#start=1
Karoo is a region in South Africa. Did not know it was a commonly known. The word "Karoo" originates from the indigenous Khoisan people of Southern Africa. It is believed to be derived from the Khoisan word "garo," which means dry, barren, or thirsty land. The Karoo is a semi-desert region spanning across South Africa, known for its arid landscapes, unique flora and fauna, and distinctive geological formations.
There's no doubt it was in its initial form. But like Mike said in the video, we all think later this year after a full spring/summer of growth its going to be 10x.
A very interesting design but unplayable for anyone but a single digit handicap player. Several split fairways with massive dividing waste areas. 18 is cut into 3 narrow fairways! The designers got carried away with themselves ending up with a novelty and not a new classic. Currently the facilities are minimal while still charging premium rates. We had one caddie who knew what he was doing while the other was a mess. Go to Streamsong in the Lakeland area until they get this place playable and with a good bar, food and lodging.
@@markharman5566 100% agree. I played World Woods (Pine Barrens, Rolling Oaks, and the Short Course) many, many times. I miss it and probably will never be able to play the new courses. But maybe that is a good thing!
Good to see they kept the same routing

I played the former courses with three buddies for a couple of days. The revisions look awesome
Played the former World Woods which was locted on that spot and always loved it. Looks like Citrus Farms will be even better.
Old World Woods in Tampa redone! Looking great! Been anticipating this for a long time, glad to see it's finally opening.
Yes it is World Woods, but not in Tampa. It’s in Brooksville, approximately 45 minutes north of Tampa.
Unfortunately, World Woods was a fantastic value. Cabot will cater to the super rich, with $1 million dollar villas and skyrocketed greens fees

Thank you Eddie!
@@Golficity this is the gold standard for course videos. It should be in a film festival it’s that good.
Was here last Thursday. The property looks amazing compared to the old world woods. So glad I only live 20 minutes from the couse.
This place is pretty much in my back yard. Looking forward to playing in early March.
Great video guys! Super excited to play and see how much they have changed from the Pine Barrens.
You’re gonna love it. 👊🏼
Stunning 😮
I get excited when I hear good walk ability at a course like this.
Is there anywhere else you guys have played that is comparible to layout and such? Or does it stand alone?

We appreciate you! And we’re cousins. We started a golf media company 12 years ago and never looked back. Thanks again 👊🏼

As a former employee im glad they kept this property as a golf course..

Great place. I'm sure there is a beautiful locker room to change those shoes instead of the parking lot. J/K 😉
Soon! Clubhouse coming later this year. 😎
Need a lot of growing of fairways and greens to happen. Too much sand on fairways etc
There's no doubt it was in its initial form. But like Mike said in the video, we all think later this year after a full spring/summer of growth its going to be 10x.
Frank what is that hoodie I know Footjoy I don’t see it on there site thanks
It’s call the TempoSeries. Coming this spring 😉
@@Golficity gotcha thanks figured it wasn’t out yet

I love all Cabot courses so far but this one looks a little bit wonky. Hope I am wrong.
100 k
will never understand why fairways have ridiculous bumps in them.
That was a main reason why I’d want to go play there. Flat golf is boring as hell.
@@patm3404 nothing like piping one right down the middle and being on top of a mound. I mean if there is a target area to avoid it cool.
@Billy18bm Good news.
Florida has 5000 other courses where you can 'pipe a perfect drive" into a flat fairway.Usually between a lake and a condo.
Is Cabot a Tobacco Road on steroids, or visa versa?
They share some similarities but Tobacco Road stands in its own category with how unique that layout is.
Just from the video….looks way to tricked up
It was pretty playable though, fair. Just tough.
Too much sand, and no flat lies. Feels kinda gimmicky
Agree. The old World Woods was great. This actually looks terrible.
There are plenty of boring courses in Florida with flat lies if that is what you really value in a golf course.
Check back in 10 years and the waste areas will have more vegetation. Still will be a lot of bunkers
